Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Yup. Pro mag and ASC mags fed round nose flawlessly with the ProMag adapter, but they were tight in the magwell, and wouldn't drop freely, not great for quick mag changes. The metalform mags drop beautifully, they were fantastic for mag changes but had inconsistent feeding issues with that combo, ended up moving to a Hahn block and use it with the metalform mags now, but I have a buddy who still uses the Pro Mag adapter without any issues for him.
  2. The ProMag magwell block arrived yesterday. Happy to report that it installed easily in about 30 seconds, from the bottom, you do not need to remove the bolt latch release. There is a button on the wall of the adapter to press to separate the adapter into 2 pieces. They each slide in from the bottom of the magwell and snap together, no tensioning screws and no tools required. It's an easy in, easy out deal, quick change. I took it to the range today. It ran flawless! No tweeks required. It functioned 100% with 9mm round nose 147 grain with 3.2 grains of titegroup, also ran 100% with truncated cone poly coated blue bullets and ran 100% with round nose flat point black bullets with hi-tek coating. Also ran 100% with 165 grain 9mm round nose Xtreme plated with zero dot movement, and very soft. Got LRBHO every time. The Metalform mags clicked in nice and easy with a very positive click, and dropped freely with the mag release. I got the magwell block, 2 mags and a promag loading tool for a total of $100 delivered. Even the $10 loading tool worked well, allows you to load 5 rounds at a time with the push of a slide bar and can be used to empty the mags quickly without shredding your fingers, and was a lot less than the Mag Lula. This thing was a homerun!!
  3. I just spoke with a rep at Pro Mag and confirmed, they discontinued production last year, and brought fabrication in house and re-designed their 9mm magwell block. They just started shipping the new version which is a 2 piece design that installs through the bottom of the magwell and does not require the bolt latch release to be removed when installing. The price is now up from $40 to $59, still much less expensive than other magwell blocks and sounds like the new design is improved. Will see if it functions reliably and will report back.
  4. Their Blue Bullets design is here: http://icarusshirts.com/product-tag/blue-bullets/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Check out Icarus, they make some really great designs and patterns. The shirts are comfortable, hold up really well, and we really like them. http://icarusshirts.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Here's a link to them on Optics Planet: http://shop.opticsplanet.com/howard-leight-hygiene-kit.html?_iv_code=HL-HP-EDFDDC-1008000&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=plusbox-beta&gclid=COTXnZ6podQCFceFswodyiIDCw Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I've used the Howard alright Impact for a long time, the cushion on the ear cups flattened down and hardened up and a friend mentioned they have a hygiene kit. Found the kit for $10 which replaced the ear cups with a much more comfortable, thicker and softer ear cup. Great little upgrade.
  8. I've got mine installed but haven't had a chance to test it on the range yet. I loaded some dummy rounds in a mag and pulled the charging handle to see if the hollow point loads would feed into the barrel, and jammed the first one, looks like the ramp is too low when installed with the base of the ramp flush to the upper, and the round doesn't touch the ramp it as it feeds from mag to barrel. I think I have to set the ramp deeper so it comes up higher to the barrel but didn't want to do anything further until I contact Taccom for their recommendation.
  9. I am sorry to hear you got caught up in the same mess. You can click on the "activity" tab when you are logged into PayPal and choose a longer time frame than 30 days from the drop down menu to bring up the payment you sent in December. Click on that payment. The good news is you have upto 6 months to file a dispute. Once you click on the payment under the activity tab, it brings up the details of that transaction and you will see blue highlighted text which says "notify seller of problem" click on that and send the message to Ernie through PayPal. If you don't get a reply you can then escalate it to PayPal to resolve, there will be a link to do this under the "open disputes" link on your homepage , but they will give him another few weeks to reply to them, seems like a long process, definitely start it now, It's interesting to hear that you ordered in December and didn't head back after that. I was introduced to Ernie by email on Jan 6 and he replied 2-1/2 hours later. I sent an email on Jan 9th to ask about pricing and got a detailed reply on Jan 11 He sent another follow up email,to encourage me to order soon, because he was putting together a larger order to be submitted to Guga Ribas on Jan 19th. This sounds like the time you were trying to reach him without success. After he confirmed receipt of my payment we never heard from him again.
  10. I've been loading 140 grain Ibejiheads over 4.1 grains of WST at a 1.18 OAL out of a CK Arms Thunder Limited and at 1.14 OAL out of our Glock 35 with 17lb stock spring. No cycling problems, ran 100% I shot my regular 9mm light load from a Glock 34 (147 grain 9mm with 3.2 grains of Titegroup) side by side with the 140 grain 40 cal and the 140 grain 40 cal was much softer shooting. Was also very, very accurate. Loved it so much I ordered 3,200 rounds that afternoon. I have to thank Hunter1998 for the recommendation to use 140 grain, it's an awesome minor load, planning to use it for 3 gun and steel challenge.
