  1. Just picked up a set of Techwell Positech Ergonomic grips. They aren’t the same as a 2011 but are much better than any other 1911 grips that I have tried.
  2. Bobby parted ways with MPA just over two years ago
  3. How was dot intensity? Most of the self adjusting sights leave a lot to be desired.
  4. @HOGRIDER thanks for calling me out. I had a couple issues today and as it turns out ALL of my grip screws were loose.
  5. Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you. I was beat from the heat.
  6. I have some BlackDot in transit to test.
  7. I think it’s on there. Can’t be 100% sure. I intend to do a complete cleaning after tomorrow’s match and can verify.
  8. One of the X-line triggers was an older one that was previously fit to a Cheely grip, was nearly a drop-in with the MPA. The newer triggers seem to have a little thicker material for the bow, but that wasn’t much of an issue.
  9. I have installed X-Line triggers in 3 different MPA pistols. It shouldn’t be difficult to do so with most “2011” triggers. Grip safeties may need some fitting. The MPA grip is cut pretty high.
  10. The MPA DS9 open guns are $4500 with steel grip and 2 MBX mags
  11. I have the aluminum grip on my DS40. The lack of weight is not a hindrance. It will be even less noticeable in 9mm
  12. TiteGroup burns fast and hot. If shooting a stage that requires two or more reloads, a glove may not be a bad idea. The cylinder will get really hot.
  13. 0.356” is fine for 38ACP 0.355” is standard for 38 Super
  14. Spyderco Tri-Angle knife sharpener
  15. Try adjusting the elevation to both limits then try sighting in again. I have done this with a few different sights.
  16. A standard gas key will work. My Stoner carrier came that way.
  17. That’s definitely not Bobby’s stipple work on the grip. He did most panel cuts to cover up factory serrations. He definitely has a style.
  18. How is the accuracy? 0.357” or 0.358” coated bullet should help with both velocity and accuracy. Unless you changed the barrel, the 686 will want larger bullets.
  19. Looks to me like work from Gary at GANS Guns
  20. Using strong hand to fire while shouldered on the weak side is not legal on stages that require weak side.
  21. Been using ISOTUNES Sport Caliber BT ear buds for a few months. Battery life is great. Will last all day on the range and the case holds two more full charges. They are shipped with multiple ear pieces for a custom fit. Sound suppression is great and the BluTooth feature is an added bonus. https://isotunes.com/products/caliber-bt
  22. I have an RHT thumbrest with a shield that I made from an old scope mount on my 5.5” Limited gun. I’ve been shooting a DS40 for a little over a year and really don’t miss it. When I do shoot the 5.5”, I tend to oversteer the gun. I probably won’t use one on my open gun either.
