  1. I picked mine up from Speed Shooter Specialties last year. The video / audio is actually very good. You can hear your breathing and see most of your mistakes as noted earlier. 2 problems I ran into is that wearing just muffs you will not get a good ear seal so plugs are really needed. They also tend to sit a little low on my nose sometimes so I'll pick up my hands but miss the sights/target. So far rain has not been an issue and when shooting one match in a snow squal it was pretty cool to pick up the snowflakes.
  2. Do some searches at this site and I'm sure you will come up with a few more cases. The place to be if you own M&P (I'm up to 4). http://mp-pistol.com/boards/
  3. Yeah, we have had a couple I know of in Vt. also. The M&P forum has the problem pretty well documented. In this case, ouch!!!!
  4. There has been a few issues with cracked/broken barrels. Is it possible there was a failure prior to the round that went boom... More details are needed.
  5. Never used to lube until I tried it once, never going to look back... I find it makes a huge difference when loading all calibers, especially .45.....
  6. My suggestion would have been, and you can use it in the future if you get back to re-loading, would be to set up everything for a 300-400 rnd load session. Insure the press is well lit and have a 2nd person watch the entire activity and point out any possible issues as they occur. Because of your initial statement regarding how little the squib round went down the barrel (parts still in breech) I would guess this was a NO powder fail rather than an inaccurate charge fail. I know you probably felt a bit overwhelmed with this whole process and the feedback you obtained here but unfortunately if you not actually there to see what is going on, your making educated guesses at the probable causes based on personal experience. Now, to make matters worse, I will tell you that I know of at least 3 squibs from 9mm WWB in our club in the past year. So yes, even the factory can get it wrong sometimes.
  7. I'm guessing that you just don't want to be in a position to pull it and use it, then you would have a problem..
  8. Just back together after a rework by Freedom Gunworks....
  9. Just show up by 9:00. I would plan on 100-150 rnds with you.
  10. VZ Grips... If they don't have something with enough bite for you then nothing will!!!!
  11. There is something for everyone at the clinic plus a great meet/greet.
  12. Welcome...... See you on the range!!!
  13. When I buy used brass I hope that there will only be a small percentage of NT. The RL550 really does not like it at all. I usually pull it and toss it ahead of time although I really hate to waste brass!!!
  14. Just going to toss the butt plates anyways and add the extensions!!!!

Are the springs new or are they "broken in"..??
  16. I like a light crimp with my LFC die due to set back issues I encountered once when I was trying to run "no" crimp on the LRN's I was using. I see no keyholing and accuracy remains stable.
  17. You will have no problem getting started with help from GMPS members such as myself willing to help you out. I started with the club a couple of years ago and still am a casual club shooter but found these people are great. We shoot every month of the season now so the winter months are intersting. If you still consider yourself new to the sport (or even experienced) I would strongly suggest you get to our new shooters clinic in April (16th). We have a match the following day also. We usually have a range full of new shooters and enough experienced members there to allow for plenty of personalized help in a very friendly setting. We start out very slow and with the basics and by afternoons end have you shooting a couple of practice stages with us. Lunch is typically included. We usually get plenty of female shooters also if the wife is so inclined. If you need any further info send me a PM and I'll get the info you need back to you. Prepare to enjoy yourself
  18. Frustrating... Really the only function I use with regularity is View New Content. It will take me day's to catch up when it works again!!!!
  19. Yeah, died a bit earlier. Like to keep up with the updates while I'm watching the race but not today... This is getting to be a regular annoyance
  20. IMHO IBTL is AYOR which may get you BITTD by Flex BWTHDIK so CYA and DBSS and refrain from IBTL. So GIAR and MHS and CYA. SLFN, RWF..... LOL....
  21. Question is, was she DQ'ed?? No, then the RO did their job and felt comfortable that the competitor was not breaking the rules in regards to safety. If she was DQ'ed, then the RO did their job based on what they saw at the time. My point, pretty subjective but RO'ing from the gallery is pretty difficult without the WHOLE picture.
  22. I think you will need to be more specific to what you plan to do with the gun. Running standard loads you will not want to drop the spring rate down much. Your plans to run with a comp will require you to tune your spring rates around that. As stated, what you are planning will not allow you to compete in a dvision other than Open which will be placing you WAY behind the others in terms of being able to compete... If your doing this just to try to make the gun a better shooter for plinking, target shooting, etc then your money could be better spent on trigger / accuracy work. My 2cents...
