Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. If it rains at OFCG, What kind of condition is the range road going to be in?
  2. If you are flying in to DFW, Then stop by Sweetie Pies http://sweetiepiesribeyes.com in Decatur. It is about a Third of the way to WF just off of route 287 in the town square.
  3. All it took was 55 gallon drum of slide glide. LOL You guys did a great job working on it to get it working. Friction is a fickle thing, Isn't it?
  4. First of all, Let me say how grateful that I am to all of the MD's, RM's, CRO's, RO's and all of the other players involved in putting on ANY match. Ya'll are the backbone of this sport. Thank you for all you do. I shot in the same squad as Jimmy on Friday and yes, It had its trials and tribulations. I knew well in advance that shooting 12 stages on Friday was going to suck. I shot it, Pissed and moaned a lot, But at the end of the day, I walked off the last stage beat down but content and happy that I got to blow off a day of work and shoot. RO'ing Sat/Sun was a blast. Good crew, All of the squads were awesome, And everything flowed well, At least, Until Murphy showed up for our last squad of the match and put his curse on the stomp pad for the drop turner. As much of a downer that it must have been for squad 1 to have a SNAFU on their last stage, They acted like true sportsmen/ladies and we got everything resolved and cleared the range by noon. To all of the shooters and staff that I dealt with this weekend, Thanks for being a classy group of people. If you don't have the patience to deal with a little bit of adversity, I suggest that you stay home and pull weeds. Mike

  6. My guess is that, after all of the ragging that a lot of people did on last years match, he is out of the match biz for the time being.
  7. This was a BoD ruling of 5.2.4 revised 7/8/12. Although there is nothing in it regarding the use of a Mag Pouch, The intent is the same. The proposed wording of the new rule book is essentially the same as the BoD ruling although nothing is said about the use of a Barney Pouch. During the course of fire, after the start signal, unless stipulated otherwise in the stage procedure, spare ammunition, magazines and/or speed loading devices shall be carried in retention devices attached to the competitor's belt and specifically designed for that purpose. Unless specifically prohibited in the Written Stage Briefing, a competitor may also carry additional magazines or speed loading devices in apparel pocket(s) and retrieve and use them without penalty, providing that the USPSA Handgun Rules, location of the apparel pocket does not violate the requirements of Appendix D, Item 12 (subject to the provisions of Rule 6.2.5.1). Should the division restrict the location of the magazines or speed loading devices, carrying them in apparel pocket(s) forward of the restriction point, will be allowed providing they are not removed from that apparel pocket(s) until the command “if clear, hammer down and holster”.
  8. So this explains why I have the crappiest yard in the neighborhood. Something had to be sacrificed.
  9. Easy...Don't ask, Don't tell. Concealed is freakin' concealed!!!
  10. Like Andy, This was my first time as an RO at a large match. Having Fred on Stage 6 with me kept my wits at bay. To all of the competitors, Thanks for coming and thanks for being such a great group of folks to be associated with. A big thanks goes out to all of the Sponsors and for them having the faith to put their brand up on such a great match. I think that we may be able to bring on Ben Gay or Sportscream next year! Steve, What can I say, The Villainous Schoolmaster at work...Righteous stages. CTASA for all of the hard work and logistics. And last but not least, Ken C. From what I understand, Instead of rolling around the range on your Mule, You'll be Horseback dressed up as Wyatt Earp. Really looking forward to that. Hopefully, You'll have given Brandon back his Socks by then! Mike
  11. I drive a Jetta back there all the time with no problems at all. If it rains, It can be a little muddy, But not a major issue.
  12. Star by running it up and down with out anything on the shell plate and see if you get it to "Stick". If that goes ok, Load One round through each station and determine where you're hanging up. Once you've isolated which station it, Adjust that die and try it again.
