I have never felt the need for me personally. A handgun yes, to assist in controlling the direction of recoil. I load weekhand, 2's and quads, and roll the gun over in my trigger control hand. I like it to roll smooth. I do not exert nearly the same force on the shotgun with my hands as I do on a handgun. Jay

The waiting list is in place and is established as we try and refine the way we run the match, increase the shooters, maintain the sponsors, and provide a fluid match experience. We pride ourselves on this match and won't sacrifice quality for numbers. That said we are working with a few options to increase the numbers. Jay

Fire clean gumming up In the cold?
J.Schmitt replied to stonedudley's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
I shoot often in the cold temps of MN. Our first match will likely see the temp at 10 to 20 degrees when it warms up in a couple of weeks. It takes some time for the cold to set into the metal of the gun. Prior to shooting in the cold my guns all get a new layer of oil, Militech for me. Then when it is my turn I cycle the heck out of each gun before I make 'em ready. Jay -
Would not trade my m1 for an m2. I did what Trapr has said, after I cut the stock I added a Kick Ezz pad. Jay

I always feel that a few things in a particular match are good to repeat a couple of times just so the returning shooters have an idea of what to expect. We have done the pallets 2 years in a row. I have no plan to have a tunnel this year. I can also assure you all that you will not see a dueling tree, what a shit target that was. I am really energized by how quickly this match has filled. Thank you to all who registered with such fervor. We intend to provide you with another outstanding match experience. Jay

As a defacto spokesman for the MN3GG, thanks you. Running the Nordic shotgun match is alot of work. I almost cant imagine running a 3 gun match on the level of any I attend such as the Midwest 3 Gun in Fayette, which is an 8 hour drive from the Twin Cities. Not too far for a major match however. Shooting true irons at Major 3gun?
J.Schmitt replied to Lead-Head's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
BWWWAAAAhhhahaaa... welcome to my hell... jj eta; and I am in too...a Bryan/Bryan all-irons match would be kewl! JJ, Is there maybe a rule change comming for the world 3 gun that makes the iron division iron. Jay -
The call the webbing on our shotguns 'slings' but what they actually are is carry straps,,,,,,,,,,, worthless. Jay

I do the same as Kurt with my shotgun, the vtac sling and strap for the rear and a loop around the tube. For the rifle, as a right handed shooter, mount the rear of the sling as Brian said as far back as possible. If you have the ability, mount the rear of the sling on the right side of the buttstock as opposed to the left and the front of the sling on the left side of the gun. This keeps the sling out of your face. Jay

Shooting true irons at Major 3gun?
J.Schmitt replied to Lead-Head's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
I thought for simplicity sake Ryan was renamed Brian, at least for out squad. -
If they were around in the past and are coming back into the game now I think that is great. If they are brand new and stepping in that's great too. If they were out of the game of 3 gun and out of the prize table giving for a while, so what. Maybe there bottom line could not support it then and now they can. With a 3gun rifle out there I hope to see them sponsoring some matches. Jay

Multi-Gun practice during the off season
J.Schmitt replied to markhawkeyeordnance's topic in Rifle & Shotgun - Technique
HHHHang on one second, We have one more shoot on November 16. True the 3 gun is done and this is a Handgun/Rifle shoot but we are still holding on. -
I have to ask if it was a complete rifle or if they put a JP upper on another lower. Jay

I have the homade look alike from a piece of blue water line, and used it successfully shooting ducks last weekend in MN in addition to shooting 3 gun. I took a look at it an it is an impossiblitiy for me to strike the primer with the bolt handle. I have always run the stock handle and with the way it is curved, it cannot hit the primer. Jay
