  1. I disagree with the moving to Open part. The shooter should be moved to the division his equip fits into first. Now that might end up being open but. Heavy optic would. Have worked here. At the DPMS tri gun years ago a shooter had 10 in the shotgun In this case he was moved from tac ops to open Jay
  2. No slings in the past or buck or slugs. Max rifle 2 years ago was about 475 and last year 385. Those would be 10 inch MGMs.
  3. Blaise. I can't remember more than about 15 paper rifle targets in the match last year and like someone else said 1 alpha neutralizes.
  4. You can also request to stage the rounds if a table is used at the match, Stage dependant of course. We often do this in the winter matches.
  5. You bring the Coach purse or Fendi or whatever, we will build it into the match somehow, If not for everyone, we will do it special for you.
  6. Sorry for your loss, My family too was just there on Jan 1 with our Golden -Cooper-11years, my son Colten, 18mo, looks around the house daily for him. That make it even harder.
  7. We are meeting this weekend to dicsuss how many shooters we can actualluy accomodate without total burn out.
  8. Send it in Steve, They would be alot more chatter if it were near full up.
  9. As you returning shooters may have noticed. We dropped the match fee to $125 and $75 for Juniors. Jay
  10. I will not be able to attend, Brian, you said it, add in the additional costs and it is out of my ball park. Have fun to those going.
  11. Jomar and I will be point of contact for the match this year. MN3GunGroup, of which Ken is a part of will be leading the effort. None to worry for you shooters who are looking for fun stages, we designed it and ran it last year as well, just taking some more of the work load off of Kenny's desk. We hope to get info out real soon and will start a new topic. We are waiting for Del-Tone/Luth Range to confirm the dates of July 27 and 28, Same weekend as last year. Match fee will likely be 150 and 75 for Juniors. Jay
  12. Information is confusing at this time. I think I can clear some of it up and will do more in another posting soon. The match last summer, the NORDIC COMPONENTS TACTICAL SHOTGUN CHAMPIONSHIP, held in St Cloud Minnesota at the same range as the former DPMS Tri-Gun Challenge is in the works. This match will likely take place the last weekend of July as it did last year. The same group that workded directly with Nordic, the MINNESOTA 3 GUN GROUP, along with Nordic, one of our home state business', will again put together a not to miss shotgun match. I have been getting a ton of emails and questions on this so be patient please. Thanks. Jay
  13. I am finally getting around to using the net again after the match. What a great time. I loved all the stages. The wind was a little strong, 18mph cross for shooting stage 3 but thats life. Fall colors were awesome. My squad was great. I saw some people do wicked cool things, Like the squad ahead of us on stage 7 when Joes sling broke and he held his shotgun sling in his mouth while finishing the stage with handgun. I just had an awsome time. I am going to have to Vote that Andrew on Stage 7 as the hardest working RO at the match. Not taking anything away the other RO's, Great group of RO's, you all did a great Job, Thank You. Thanks to the Andy, his staff and all the match sponsors. Jay
  14. Yes to items like, tube, nut, follower, bolt release, bolt handle, tube clamp.
  15. Not completely relevant but the 870's we have at the pd for work have pistol grip speed feed stocks on them. These stocks are a full inch longer than a standard ar15/m16 stock, measured from trigger to trigger. Very long and difficult to use, especially with armor. I have a half inch cut off my benelli m1. It just feels right. Jay
  16. The benelli nova plug is the exact length you need, that is what I use on my 10 shot tube. Otherwise you already know my other solution, synthetic wine corks. Jay
  17. Trying to finalize the travel plans. What time is the match sched to end, and awards wrap up. Is there food that night. I am looking for general feel as I know an exact timeline is impossible. Trying to plan on at least some drive time towards home afterwards. thanks Jay
  18. good deal, you can tell alot by looking at the extractor, it either has some wear or it was replaced. it is real hard to wreck a shotgun. it it is mechanically sound it will run.
  19. First make sure the gun is propery fitted, If the stock is too long you will not absorb the recoil properly. Then junk the recoil pad and have a Kick-eez with the double layer of Sorbothan model da-202-10-m-b. Jay
  20. Eric, do i know you, Are you shooting our 3 gun matches in MN. We have one this Sat, Check out the link at MN3GUNGROUP.ORG. I will bring a JPSRTS and you can take a look. Jay
  21. Damn, I'd need 3 corks to plug mine down to 8 rounds. I'll be laying on the floor by the time I have a legal shotgun. Better make this a weekend project. I was just thinking about how many actual ducks did Jay "2-Beer" Schmitty see over the weekend after all those wine. You don't see a lot of wine drinkin duck hunters down here in the south. Does red or white go with duck Jay? Brian, Red wine with duck. You need corked wine bottles, Boones Farm caps just won't work. Oh and in Minnesota you can buy booze in every county. Jomar, slow opener, 7 ducks. Chis, Get buzy drinkin' Jay
  22. A couple of synthetic wine corks worked for me this past weekend for duck opener when I bought a used Benelli on the way to the lake. The plug was missing. To go from 3 rounds to 2 rounds I used 1 and a half corks. Jay
  23. Paint for the sake of paint but always know it by feel.
