  1. Long shot here but maybe someone has it. I am looking for either a Safariland SLS or ALS holster that fits the CZ SP01. Safariland has holsters that fit the 75B but not the SP01 itself. My question is to you out there that found if a SP01 fits in a particular Glock Sig of Beretta holster. Need some additional security for 3 gun. Thanks Jay
  2. Kirk, I think this is a wise choice. It has been stated on this forum many times. New shooters will come and shoot the match with what they have. They will have fun. They will be back. I shot my first match, "The DPMS Tri Gun", with a Non free float AR, a Benelli pump with no extension, no caddies, and a Beretta handgun with my duty belt, level 3 holster and covered mags. It was the best ever. I CAME BACK FOR MORE. I upgraded over the years. I believe all new shooters will upgrade their equipment constantly. It is in the DNA of those like minded individuals. I see it at the local level every match. I would imagine this is an agreed upon "theory". And just like adding optics to the Limited class, a few "ringers" will step into this standard class an the guy with the least skill will still be at the bottom. No one can make someone else feel adequate with their performance. It has to come from inside. I see it with cops showing up at USPSA matches and getting it handed to them by the old man in suspenders with a cane. They can't cope with it and don't come back, or they go out and learn and get good. Now I can almost stomach shooting a Pump in limited if I didn't like my shotgun so much. If it were the only change I would have made due. I love the Ozarks match. I look forward to it. Hell, I've been chomping at the bit all day to sign up. Jay
  3. Are you honestly saying that while waiting all this time to sign up, and coming within hours of sign in you are going to throw out this major change in the rule system. I am very disappointed. Hours before sign up is not the time to make a sweeping change. Three months ago maybe, when I could have planned on another match to attend. Utter disappointment. Take someone like me and have them go buy a bunch of new equipment to compete in a new division. I'm not set up for that. Replace a free float with a junk system, buy new parts for a pump gun when I already have a working Benelli M1, Buy new mags for my production CZ pistol. I am steaming here. Jay
  4. All very good thoughts. I may have to look at making them more specific. Heres the low down. I have been asked every year, "how competitive would I be if I brought out my DPMS AR, G17, and 870?". I tell them as honest as I can, "skill will outweigh equipment, but if you really want to be competitive you may want to consider..............." So this year I decided to make a Stock class and replace Tactical Irons. TI had 11 shooters last year and half of them would fit into this division. So as I want to eliminate the equipment race in this division I may have to revise the rules to eliminate 140-170 mags. Maybe stating "NO PROTRUDING MAGS". What say you?? To help everyone understand my thought process. I was also thinking about inviting military teams that are using rack grade weapons from all services. I believe Limited had well over 20 shooters possibly close to 30. Heavy Metal was low with only about 10 shooters.
  5. I would agree with this. Anything that resembles a human shape is like killing and therefor not sporting. We have a local range that will not even allow USPSA paper during public hours. Time will tell, will we see an influx of the metric IPSC replacing the USPSA in the future. Jay
  6. Take a look at JP's website here http://jprifles.com/3.1_tech.php?document_id=278 John has done some of the work for you. Jay
  7. no no no, I would not use them at 200 yards. We want people to come back to the matches. I am a subscriber to the 4moa target presentation minimum. I may push it to 120 but that would be about it. Tizzo, We allow eotechs in the limited/tac iron catagory. We are going along to get along with the national trend. If you would want to save money, send the irons back and shoot the eotech. Jay
  8. I don't know exactly. I think they are around 4 inches wide and 10 tall. I don't have any in hand. Jay
  9. Old beat up shells sometimes hang up
  10. Tizzo, I am one of the guys who runs the MN 3 Gun Group that sets up the matches. That info may be correct for one of the ranges we use but you will be seeing 200 yard at the next match and depending on what we have for range use we will use the 400 yard at Minnetonka. You will more likely see 30 rounds under 25 yards. 25 in the 75 to 100 range and 20 in the 150 to 200 range. All dependant on getting a first shot hit of course. The presentation of those targets are about to get smaller as we aquire "skinny poppers". Stop out at Minnetonka Game and fish on Sat April 7 and check out the match. Send me an email at jay@mn3gungroup.org and I will set you up on the mailing list. Jay
  11. I started with and still have a rock river. It has been a very good rifle. I recomendd them to guys at work all the time. Browse JP Rifles website. They have some new entry level LE rifles in the 1500 dollar range. Not all the bells and whistles but still JP design and quality MN based Fleet Farm had a line of Huldra rifles that would be worth a look. I belive they designed it with Adams Arms jay
  12. "He thought it would be fun to take a bit of a piss with Jesse, and in the guise of fun, I agreed." I knew it had to be some type jokester at hand. Welcome to the forum Barry. Jay
  13. Anybody else's radar going off. Something doesn't pass the smell test here. A little too tongue and cheek. Anybody else reading it this way, between this topic and the JP Spring topic. Who put BGolden up to this? Who is BGolden? Jay
  14. Put a 30 round mag through it after the match. Slow cadence on a few. Some quick doubles and triples. About 15 round as fast as I could. No malfunctions. Dropped it in and it ran flawless. Dead tired after 9 hours outside in cool 20 degree weather. Jay
  15. I was also wondering some of the same Eric, It feels a little heavier that the standard buffer and spring. I don;t have the small types of scales to do a comparison however. Jay
  16. Oh that my competition would use untested products against me. Which lesson is it to never do such a thing. Maybe I'll let B. Payne use it tomorrow.
  17. Got one yesterday. I will test it out after our match tomorrow
  18. The term shotty was banned on the forum. See you on sat. Looks like 14 inches of snow parking on the range tomorrow.
  19. Thanks. Will it be based on the Rockey Mountain 3 gun prize distribution method. If "YES" it will most likely END questions as most are familiar with that method if not from participation from topics here on Enos. Jay
  20. What does raffles for everyone mean. Is there an order of finish prize table?
  21. Chris, Congrats on the new shooter. There will most likely be no updates for another couple months as they plan it out. Just spend those sleepless minutes loading everthing you can. They dont shoot slugs or buck. If you never miss a shot 150 of everthing will cover it. Do like everyone does and double that and you should be good to cover any misses and reshoots. Jay
  22. Check the classifieds, I saw a rock river with a JP handgaurd and 11 mags with a red dot for 650 bucks
  23. Good point Charles, and if the air time fails the current format of 3 Gun Nation may as well. It is entertainment based after all. Sound like some people are not happy they didn't get the invite. I look at it this way. How many can actually pull a top 3 performance for the big money. Top 20, and I bet we can name them. For the others what do you have. You have 500 dollars for basically two matches, a minimum of 150 per match in hotel if you share a room, 400 minimum per match in airfare unless you live close to Georgia or Florida. So for the first 2 matches you have 1600 dollars in expenses before ammo and food and everything else. Unless you have sponsors picking up the tab. There don't appear to be prizes at these so there is no offset in cost unless you are top 3. If this card is so valuable to some, what is it worth, I might just attend the first match and sell it as memorabilia to fund my attendance to other matches and buy ammo. Otherwise, I don't see myself attending. While I would like to participate it is too much of financial commitment. Plus I would have to pull my irons off and slap on a scope, that does not appeal to me at this moment. Jay
