I got an email from Remington this morning confirming that the shims are compatable with the Sportsman stock. I'm off to buy a shotgun after work. And a Versa Tube. And a new sanding drum for my Dremel.

There is a VM Sportsman at my lgs for $769. Does anyone know for sure if the drop/cant shim kit for the standard VM will fit the Sportsman? The product literature says you remove the comb from the stock to make adjustments. Since the Sportsman stock does not have a removable comb, I wonder if the parts are interchangeable. I've emailed Remington but no answer yet.

What chokes work with these shotguns? Does anyone have the appropriate extension tubes in stock?

Take a file to it. You can tame it in about a minute.

I have also had trouble with the cheap stuff varying in rim diameter and hanging up. I make sure that any shells that are going to a match have been in the mag tube and cycled through the gun with no problems. Anything that hangs goes in the practice bin.

Test. Well that worked in Safari. No reboot, no clearing the cache.

Fiocchis are accurate through my 1100 but the length causes hang ups with ejection. When it fails to eject it fails to feed the next shell. It's easy to clear but turns my auto loader into a bolt gun. I want to fix it by upgrading to a Versa Max.

Just got some TTI base pads and springs and can only load 19. Anyone cutting coils off the big springs? Or just use the stock springs?

I just put my hand on it. At the 2012 Ironman I ran the brake rope on the slide right over the carrier and managed to strip all the shells out of it on the way down the slide. Won't do that again. Actually, I did several things at the Ironman that I won't do again.

Bamboo is right. Put that Nordic tube on it and go shoot it in a few matches before you decide what to change on it.

My KKM produces better groups than the stock barrel, but not by much. I can't say it has greatly improved my scores. If you are doing acceptably with the stock barrel I would wait for the Bar-Sto.

Well I decided on a 24 but then found a good deal on a 35. It's the first step in getting both. Now to find a magwell and basepads.

I'm thinking of building a Limited gun. If I go Glock this will be my first one. There seem to be used 35s and 24s available. What makes one better for Limited than the other?

I have a Honda Insight hybrid. Sure, I had to turn in my Man Card at the dealer when I picked it up but I got me and all my gear from home in Missoula to the Ironman near Boise and back on two tanks of gas. It's not an off road or deep snow vehicle, I have others for that. It is a great car for getting there economically as long as you're on pavement.

What happened to this division? I'd like to hear the story.
