  1. Once you have a few more posts you can post links.http://www.smartlock.com/SWThumbMagwell.htm Thanks
  2. Yes of course but who makes it and where did you get it?
  3. Whats the thumb rest / beavertail thing?
  4. ++ on the handwarmers. I like to have a big warm windproof coat I can throw on over everything else. I just take it off when I go to the line. I also like a windproof golf shirt/pullover. I can tuck it in so it doesn't interfere with the draw.
  5. TTI says there are "issues" with older Glock mags. I don't know but this may be one of them. In my case it was only being able to load 18 rounds. I was invited to let them know how it worked with new mags. Look for mine in the classifieds after one more match.
  6. Cool. There's good shooting all over the state. And alot of good folks.
  7. I have been at matches where the RO will call hits as 'Hit 1', 'Hit 2'. 'Hit3' would mean you have hit it more than you needed to, assuming two hits required per target. At my level there is NO amount of coaching that would give me an unfair advantage over skilled competitors. Any RO advice that keeps me on track and helps me learn and have more fun is greatly appreciated.
  8. Lee's instruction sheet states "DO NOT use the Bulge Buster Kit to reload for the 40 S&W Glock or similar guns with chambers that do not fully support the cartridge due to the intrusion of the feed ramp." Just sayin'.
  9. To the OP - I'm not so sure that you don't have a 'hardware' issue. Corrected vision sometimes narrows the depth of field that you can have in focus. Talk to your eye doc about what you are experiencing and what you are trying to achieve. All of us have one eye that is dominant but the degree of dominance can vary. The more equal the eyes are the harder it is to shoot well with both eyes open. Squinting or tape can help. As you can see from this interesting discussion there is a variety of techniques that work for a variety of people. You have to learn to see what you need to see to make the shots you want to make. Read Brian's book again. There were some tounge in cheek comments about shooting Open but you may find that a dot sight is the best solution, for your shooting if not for your checkbook.
  10. There are pics in this thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=155631&page=1
  11. I know this is an old thread. Can anyone share their experience with this optic?
  12. Dave will do it for you himself if you send him the trigger group and a small check. Give him a call.
  13. Sweet. i've got the original charging handle as a spare. My mag spring is brand new and hopefully won't need attention for a few matches. How often do you replace those little O-rings on the pistons?
  14. I got my Versamax, sent it off to C-Rums for a welded lifter and some tuning goodness, installed a Carbon Arms one piece extended magazine tube and Nordic bolt release and it's ready for next week's match. Now I'm getting ready to call Remington to order some spare parts. I had an 1100 and have a nice little stock of spares that, aside from O-rings, I've never used. Before I order I'd like to hear from some of you who have been running this gun for awhile. What has actually broken or worn out and needed to be replaced?
  15. You should have bought them all. And I should have bought Microsoft in 1983.
  16. My wife and daughter ate there on a trip to Zion. They have been raving about the pies since.
  17. In my opinion and limited experience the highest velocity load you can shoot accurately through your pistol will be the most accurate. Lower velocity loads may be accurate but the higher velocity load will be more accurate. If velocity gets too high then accuracy falls off, mostly, in my case, due to my marginal recoil management skills. The high velocity / high accuracy load may not be the best for this sport. For me, the load that makes PF, has acceptable accuracy and is easy to shoot is my sweet spot. Find a couple of loads your gun likes, set up a stage then see what the timer and score sheet say.
  18. C-rums offers a barrel throating option and Jeff recommended it when I talked to him. Any thoughts on or experience with this?
  19. Baba is right. Get involved. You don't have to be and MD or even an RO. There is plenty of work to do with prop construction, stage set up and take down and scoring. Go to club meetings and learn what is needed and do it. Any small amount of time you can contribute will make those local matches run that much smoother. I bet the folks who were having trouble with the new scoring system were the same ones who built the stages, did the registration and all the rest of the work.
