  1. Oh, I don't know? I've always wanted to do a charity side match for the Toys for Tots Match with a Carnival Dunk tank (me being the dunkee!) Only problem is the weekend rental for one is too expensive and the match is in Oct. brrrrr! Personally I like the look of the Texas Bobber especially the one with 3 targets, but I absolutely hate Texas Stars! Nolan
  2. Always carry a package of Hostess Donettes (the little powdered sugar donuts) in the car and when you get stopped quickly put a small dab of powdered sugar on your moustache just under your nose, sniff frequently and talk really, really fast! Then when he gets suspicious, offer him a donut! Nolan
  3. I just watched the latest Zatoichi movie with Beat Takeshi (Vic on Most Extreme Elimination Challege) as the blind masseur. I loved the Tyko/Japanese Riverdance at the end of the movie. I liked this movie better than the originals. Nolan
  4. Ack! Pffft! Hey Erik, check out mine. Flex made me take it down, but you can view it here: Oh Happy Days! I know you'll enjoy! Nolan
  5. In case he survives the lethal? overdose they don't want him getting an infection and sueing for damages? Nolan
  6. They think the US media will erode our will by constantly showing us how helpless we are against the faceless enemy. Sadly the US media seems hell bent on helping them! Anything to make the US to look bad. Nolan Sheeple do not have original thoughts only the thoughts planted there by the talking heads.
  7. Oops you forgot "You are now leaving Kalifornia!" and "Welcome to Nevada!" Nolan
  8. I agree! My favorite place here in the Bay Area is Christy's Donuts in Milpitas. Ohhhh! they are so good. Her regular glazed is about twice the thickness/height/aspect ratio? of a Krummy Kreme at the same weight. Then there are the Cinnamon Buns. Ohh ohh ohh and Donut Holes so big I can hardly get one in my big mouth in one bite, but oh so light and fluffy. Nolan Did I mention the extremely attractive lady owner or the other 2 attractive ladies who work there? Donuts good!
  9. We had one group of 14-16 year olds this year. No attempt at any sort of costume, just a pillowcase (each) for the swag. When I answered the door I asked them "Oh, what's your costume, nevermind I bet it's 'High School Dropouts'!" and gave them each one Tootsie Roll! Nolan
  10. Call SVI and talk to them about it. The breachface should not be loose. If it moves it's possible for the firing pin to bind which will cause malfunctions at best, slamfires at worst. Also the movement will eventually break the screw possibly leading to a KaBoom. I speak from experience. Take the breachface out and see how deep the locking screw threads into the breachface. SVI should be able to tell you how to measure the proper seating depth for the screw. Nolan
  11. Thanks Shred! I just got my copy last night. You did a great job, man that's a lot of work. It was hard enough just doing my video, so I know how much work it was to do an entire squad. Now if I can just figure a way to clone Erik's trigger finger, Steve's legs, Ong's accuracy and Greg's quickness I'll be good to go next year! Thanks again. Nolan
  12. Take your wife/girlfriend/significant other with you. That way they can also carry 11 lbs of ammo. 22 lbs should be enough, unless she/he/it also shoots. Nolan
  13. If you invite them, they arrive with the whole HORDE! Nolan
  14. Trust me I'm worse in person! My biggest mistake was when I made the reservations, I confused the Holiday Inn with the Daze Inn. I remembered this really nice big hotel where we had the awards in 2001 and then looked at the Quincy street map, hmm must have been the Daze Inn. My mistake! Room descriptions and photos on the internet looked really good and I have a bunch of discount rate programs available to me so I booked the Daze Inn. By the way I did tip the maid 10 bucks when we locked the keys in the room on the second morning. That was the last we saw of her, she must have taken a vacation on the extra money! As for the stairs, pfff! I have a torn right ACL, I'm a vendor, plus have you ever seen my shooting RV, I mean cart? Nolan ps I've just requested that USPSA squad me with you at every major match next year!

  17. Anybody else have a lousy room/service at the Daze Inn in Quincy? Here's the written portion of my stay. I'll skip the phone conversations. Date of Stay: 09/11/2004 Hotel Name: Days Inn Hotel Location/Address: Quincy, Illinois Feedback: Dear Sirs, I am most disappointed with the Quincy, Illinois Days Inn hotel. On our arrival Sept. 11 as we unloaded our luggage we were greeted by the dirty stained cigarette butt strewn lobby and filthy smelly elevator. Check the following links to see the photos. Days Inn elevator lobby Days Inn Filthy elevator floor1 Days Inn Filthy elevator floor2 Days Inn Mildew'd Laundry Area Days Inn Broken Ice machine Days Inn Water leaking under bathroom wall into 2nd floor lobby Days Inn Daily view of groundfloor elevator lobby Days Inn Disintegrating exterior stairs Days Inn Cracking interior walls Our room #321 was missing the microwave oven when we checked in. The front desk was unable to locate a replacement or find a microwave that we could use to heat the hot pack we needed or to heat a late meal. The manager did have a microwave installed that next day. Our room had exactly two threadbare stained bath towels and wash clothes. Since we are here for the United States Practical Shooting Association National Championships and would be spending the days outdoors in Illinois heat and humidity 2 showers a day are necessary so we were forced to re-use the marginal towels. Each day the towels were replaced by two equally threadbare and stained towels, which is more than I can say about the bed sheets. On Sept. 15 our room was not serviced. I notified the front desk for the second time that the sheets had not been changed since our arrival and the room had not been cleaned or the beds made this day, the front desk grudgingly gave us two towels and promised that the room would be serviced the next day. We arrived back at our room to find the bed remade with the same sheets that have been on the bed since our arrival on Sept. 11th. The only working Ice Machine quit working on Sept. 13th. I've stay in Motel 6's that were nicer and had better service. The elevator lobbies on all floors were filthy, littered with cigarette butts with standing water leaking out from under the bathroom wall on the second floor lobby. The washers and dryers are dirty with mold and mildew growing on the floor around them. The outside steps are missing most of the traction surfaces with many of the steps crumbling. All I can say is that I am simply underwhelmed by the Quincy Days Inn and will never be staying at this or any other Days Inn. Sincerely disappointed, Nolan Smyth Days Inn corporate reply: Mr. Smyth, Thank you for contacting the Days Inn Customer Service department concerning your stay at the Quincy, IL hotel. 18. Oh great, now my ultra secret time saving practice methods are being exposed! Nolan

  20. Gee, think of the benefits: First in line where ever you go (aren't shooters just the nicest people to the handicapped?) Sympathy (see above) Now think of the downsides: Getting your a$$ kicked for impersonating the handicapped (see above) Getting your a$$ kicked by the real handicapped for taking their place in line. Getting laughed at by the non-handicapped for getting your a$$ kicked by the one-armed, one-legged guy (see above) Nolan
  21. Several years ago I was shooting in a local trap league when a crazed bird of some unkown species flew directly in front of my shotgun just as I pulled (OK slapped) the trigger. Aformentioned avian vanished in a small puff of feathers, but the damn clay pigeon got away scot free! They actually scored it as a miss. I tried pointing out the slowly drifting bits of down, but NO. Oh the injustice. Nolan
  22. Mcoliver, You're welcome! The turner on Stage 19 was somewhat dependent on how hard/fast you opened the door. I failed to note that the activator cable had very little slack while I was taping targets before shooting. Yanking the door open hard activated the turner very quickly and pulled my weak hand way out of position. Other shooters who didn't try to pull the door off the hinges had more time. Nolan
  23. Several shooters after I had shot stage 16 I was helping tape, set steel, paint, etc... and heard the RO call 2 No-Shoot penalties on the Windmills steel No-Shoots. Yikes! I hadn't even realized they WERE No-Shoots while I was shooting. That probably says a lot for my focus and state of mind. Now the question is whether that was good or bad? Nolan
