  2. If you really want to make them stare: Use a half filled Half Gallon milk jug. Hold the milk jug by the handle in a shooting grip and while walking try to keep the fluid from sloshing around. Nolan

    Little Johnnie

When little Johnnie was born the doctor handed the newborn to his mother to hold. Mom freaked as soon as she looked at little Johnnie "Doctor, my son doesn't have eye lids, what am I to do?" she cried. "Relax Madam, when we circumsize your son, we will use the tissue to graft as eye lids." the Doctor replied. "But Doctor, won't that make him cockeyed?" "Oh no, my dear, it will merely give him a little foresight!" Nolan
  4. A Lee Factory Crimp Die with plated or lead bullets can cause variances in the Overall length. When it sizes the case on the down stroke it squeezes the soft plated or lead bullet undersize, (less case pull) the brass case springs back a little bit after sizing. The bullet doesn't. Then on the up stroke the FCD can pull/squeeze the bullet out of the case a small amount. Nolan
  5. It's OK, he's just getting ready to blast that rare endangered Spotted Range Owl! Nolan
  6. OK, I've got some photos of the casefeeder brace that I made. I drilled a hole in the casefeeder stand then inserted a Thread-Sert nut, but a through hole with a nut on the other side of the stand would work just as well. I'm not sure where the L-brace (possibly a Dillon bracket I didn't use?) I used to attach the brace to the wall originated. and the Nylock nut on the Powder Measure Nolan
  7. Oh Geez! All these years and I thought it was: Anita Bryant for 1 A and 1 B Buddy Baker for 2 B Anita Charles for 1 A and 1 C Charlie Chaplin for 2 C Charlie Daniels for 1 C and 1 D Motherf&^&%$ for a Miss Nolan
  8. Blah! I just realized that I confused Casefeeder with Primer feed Is it still Monday? Nolan
  9. Oh No, not the Mall Ninjas! I had intermittent Casefeeder problems until I braced the Casefeeder. Watch the area by the Casefeeder shutoff switch while it's dropping cases and then bang the press handle hard against the stop. It causes the whole Casefeeder to wobble and if you do it at just the right time one of the falling cases will turn sidewise and jam up the funnel above the shutoff switch. To fix mine I made a brace out of .250x1 inch aluminum bar about 2-3 feet long that bolts to the Casefeeder upright and bolts to the wall. Now the Casefeeder doesn't wobble. I think there was a thread about this, maybe even a FAQ. but I couldn't find it. Which bolt is falling out of the powder measure? If it's the pivot bolt for the actuating arm? (I don't have a Dillon manual handy) I replaced the orignal nut with a 10-32 Nylock nut on all of my powder measures and haven't had any more problems with the nut backing off. If the pivot bolt is too loose the little square plastic block can pop out of the powder bar and the actuating arm will not move the powder bar leading to squibs. Check the powder measure safety return is functioning. Make sure the return spring is slightly compressed when the press is fully raised. Mine will pull the press handle away from the top stop when I let go of the handle. Nolan

  11. Some people don't like to run a bore brush through the barrel. The Boresnake has a built in bore brush, but it can be removed. I've taken mine out for my .22 but have left them in for my larger calibers. Instructions for removing the bore brush are here: .22 crown thread Nolan
  12. Oh Man, you really had me skeered! I thought it was going to be: Janet Reno, Billary Clinton, and Maxine Waters! God, I hope I don't have nightmares tonite! Nolan
  13. Bruce, At the Bianchi match many years ago Jim Randolph was shooting the Barricade event and managed to get his index finger over the first port in the comp instead of over the top of the shroud. He said it pretty much felt like getting hit with a sledgehammer then having a Greyhound bus parked on his finger. No permanent damage, but it had a nice powder burn and was numb for a couple of days once it stopped hurting. Good thing it was Bianchi loads and not IPSC Major! Nolan
  14. Wow! I sure wouldn't want to carry that in a Limcat or Ghost holster!!!! Stage Description: Start Position: Seated in chair, handgun is loaded and holstered as per ready condition in rule 8.1.1 and 8.1.2 Shooter to RO "Ow! Homie call an ambulance I just stabbed myself!" Nolan

  16. My favorite is to sign the ticket "Yura Dickhead" but it really doesn't matter what you sign or even not sign. The citation is valid with or without your signature. Just where do you live? Kittyville? Catsburgh? Felina? Nolan
  17. Hello Eric, There are two indoor ranges in the South Bay area that rent guns. Targetmasters in Milpitas (408) 263-7557 and Reed's Indoor Range in Santa Clara (408) 970-9870. Both places will not rent to anyone who arrives at the range alone to discourage suicides so you must be accompanied by someone. Nolan

  19. Erik, My 115 grain JHP load with 7625 is: 115 Montana Gold JHP Win Small Rifle Primer 8.6 grains 7625 1.235 OAL 176+ Power Factor It will still be a compressed load, but not badly so. Nolan
  20. Erik, Check the breechface. There is probably a small step on the side opposite the extractor left from the machining process. My old STI slide had a huge step. When the breechface is cut it's done in several steps and one cut was not made at the same depth as the others. Nolan Dang, typed too slow!
  21. If you don't like or want your hands tenderized by abrasive grips, try AGRIP from Brooks Tactical. It's a synthetic suede like material with an adhesive backing. I've been using it for about 5 years and really like it. With the abrasive grips I can't shift my hands easily on the gun, but with the AGRIP my hands don't slip on the gun until I relax my grip then I can move my hands. It lasts about 6 months to a year depending on use. You can also get it in different colors. Brooks Tactical AGRIP Nolan
  22. My pockets? It's a mouse! And No we're not happy to see you! Nolan
  23. Where is the chip on the breechface? Mine regularly breaks off the little ledge just below the extractor hole. The gun runs fine without the ledge so I just smooth up the rough area where it broke to prevent more cracks. My first breechface was about six months old when it chipped, then went over a year with no problems from the missing ledge. This breechface broke the ledge off in about 2 months and has been running fine since then. Nolan
  24. I just watched Celluar last night and really enjoyed it. I wasn't real excited about watching it before we started, but it kind of grows on you. There are a lot of mistakes like William H Macey's "Cup and Saucer" grip, but on the other hand some of the characters actually learn from their mistakes, like how to get service in a Celluar store The best scenes are how to properly use a vehicle as a tool/weapon and how to really screw up somebody with a cell phone (why you should always have your cell phone set to "Vibrate") I wonder if they will get sued for their depiction of lawyers? Nolan
  25. Your headgear resembles a tablecloth from a cheap Italian resturant. Your goat smells better and has fresher breath. Your favorite music is the ticking of a cheap egg timer. Your cod piece is made from Semtex. Nolan
