  1. No problemo! He's only welding on the Gas Tank!
  2. I found this Finnish IPSC website with some interesting videos. Check out Video 1, Video 2, and Video 5. Lappeenrannan Siluettiampujat ry Man talk about a "Bullet Train" Richmond Rod & Gun club used to have a mover on Range 2 many years back, then some SOB carefully removed the steel motor cover and shot the motor to pieces. Nolan
  3. Only when it's time to go shooting!
  4. And they say I ain't psycho, er psychic Nolan
  5. Hey Happy Birthday David! I hope your new shooting mates enjoy your presence as much as we did! Nolan
  6. Hey, I color my brass. Just color all your bullets and tell them it's a secret Molly coating! Just don't mention it was Molly marking them with a marking pen
  7. Rich, With 115 gr JHP the most accurate load out of my Open gun is AA#7 however I hate shooting the stuff. It stinks, is very abrasive, and has a very sharp recoil. Dot tracking and movement is pretty good. But with all that said try IMR 7625. Accuracy isn't quite as good as AA#7, but it is the softest recoiling powder I've tried. Dot tracking and movement are very good. IMR 4756 is my second favorite powder but I think it actually works better with 124 grain bullets. Nolan
  8. Bausch & Lomb sell a vision supplement called Ocuvite. Here's a link you can check Ocuvite Probably the same stuff. Nolan
  9. Erik, Try wearing long pants Yeah, yeah I know cheap shot! Have you tried any of the "ThermaCare" heat wraps? I use the small back pain wrap in cold weather for a little extra heat boost. Maybe a little extra 'core heat' would help your problem? Check these links. Core Heat or Back Pain Nolan
  10. Erik, Definately hand wash. Mild detergent such as Woolite in a large tub (bathtub) and a soft brush. I washed my Green Mountain bag a couple of times with no problems. Just make sure to let it dry fully. While it's drying make sure that it's 'shaped' correctly. I also gave mine a shot of ScotchGuard to help it stay clean. Nolan
  11. Erik, Mailboxes R Us! Rent a mailbox at one of the non-post office mail drop businesses somewhere between your address and the Richmond Rod & Gun club. Nolan
  12. I'm happy with the RO coaching me into the correct start position rather than just letting me stand there. With my short attention span it doesn't take long to regain my concentration.
  13. Have you changed your grip during reloads or where you hold your trigger finger during reloads? You may be inadvertantly pushing on the slidestop pin with your trigger finger while your reloading. Even if you aren't hitting the slidestop pin with your finger the detent is a good idea.
  14. Several months back in "SHOOT" magazine they ran an article about how they blew up 3 .45 long colt handguns with 'lite' loads. Yup, after they blew up the first gun they kept shooting the same batch of ammo and blew up a second single action handgun. As if that weren't enough they continued on and destroyed a third. The cause was seating 2 bullets into one case! They were using wax lubed cast lead bullets and no brains! The wax built up in the seating die to the point that the freshly seated bullet would be pulled back out of the case. Then they would set a bullet on the next case and seat both the new bullet and the stuck bullet. When they were finished loading they noticed they had 5-6 cases with no bullets..."hmmm musta forgot to seat a bullet in them" I doubt that's the cause of the .45 ACP or .40 S&W Kabooms because the case is too short, but I suspect that may have been the cause some of the old PPC Kabooms in 38 Specials using beeswax lubed wadcutter bullets. You probably could get 3 bullets into on case if you really tried. Some other causes for Kabooms besides the ammo, over ramped barrels, and badly tuned trigger/disconnectors that will fire out of battery.

Damn! I wish I would have heard this last year 'cause I should have gotten that Sears Siding put on the house. The salesman said pretty much the same thing, that it would pay for itself in 3 years.
  16. Happy Birthday Brian! Thanks for BEing another year wiser not another year older Nolan
  17. Oops sorry I removed that video clip when I was cleaning house. I probably won't put it back up because I need the space for more Hoser Stages
  18. And the temperature, barometeric pressure, phase of the moon, angle of the sun, and any other number of things. The only way that I see an undersize die affecting velocity is with bullet pull. The smaller case mouth resulting from the undersize die holds the bullet longer for higher pressure. Even then I don't see it making a major change in velocity, 3 tenths of a grain difference causing an increase of 150 fps across different lots of powder is more likely.
  19. I never said "@#$% America" John Kerry 2004
  20. I've had one come off the gun causing a KaBoom. Here's the thread KaBoom I personally know one other person who had the breechface come off while he was loading and making ready for a stage at the 2003 Limited Nationals. I still like the feature, but probably won't go out of my way to have one on another gun.
  21. Another question, would 400 degrees set off a primer or powder? Hello Mythbusters!
  22. Are you sure those were fish sticks and not those Special Brownies? I'm not sure if these are true or urban legends as I've heard several different versions. One version has a couple going on vacation hide the gun in the oven to prevent theft and forgetting to remove it after returning. Also this story has "several rounds to be fired" from a .357 handgun. A revolver wouldn't fire several rounds and a Sig or Glock .357 would be reported as an evil semi-automatic.
  23. OH Man are you kidding? I can't wait until the next time I RO Erik! I need every competitive advantage I can steal, er get.
  24. I think Vic and Kenny are doing some of the writing for the WWE. There's a Babaganoosh wrestler, er entertainer and some the the storylines are just hilarious.
  25. Happy Birthday! 3/4 Time for the "Just for Men!"
