  1. Way to busy for me, Trying to figure out all the hash marks while engaging targets at different distances and hold offs for wind would fry my head. I'll stay with my Vortex 1x6. Simple. For me it has just enough to figure out things quickly.
  2. I have two pistons. Both have black bases. Both are used so no paint left on the springs. One has a single set of holes. The other has two sets of holes. Which one is the "light load" piston? I have used both with no noticeable difference in recoil and both will shoot light loads. The gun is a very old Browning Gold Hunter that was bought for hunting but changed over to shoot 3gun. It came with the piston with the single set of holes. I always assumed that was the heavy one.
  3. I have a pin "dowel" set. I find one that fits the into the case neck I want to measure to tell me what is the actual ID. The pins are marked how big they are. Of course you can measure their outside diameter with your calipers to double check. I have always found them to be perfect.
  4. Are there slugs and or buckshot required in this match? That's some funny chit right there Too much coffee, sorry! Rub it in, I deserve it. I entered a long time ago along with other 3gun events and just plain forgot. That's my story and I am sticking to it!!

  6. What ever happened to the $1000 do it all shotgun that Matt Burkett had a pre order on? I thought it was to be made in Turkey.
  7. Mark, I have a Browning Gold that needs the receiver work you mention. Can you do it for me?
  8. Another reason it becomes an issue is the fact that the gas tube has a raised portion on the end. That is to seal the gas in the carrier to work the action. If it is misaligned it will wear out one side or the other. End result will be a one shot AR due to lack of gas.
  9. I have the same barrel, On a good day from a rest I get 2 to 3" 5 shot groups at 300 yds. 200 are 1-1/2 all day long. 55 gr Nosler ballistic tip bullets, 1.245 oal, 26 grains of H335, Rem 7-1/2 primers. Bulk Horandy, 193 55 gr bulk, 24 grains of H335, 1.245 oal groups 1-1/2 at 100 yds. These loads have been good in three different brand barrels. Have you shot it with out a comp? How does the crown look? Is the gas key hitting the gas tube when going into battery? Did the barrel fit tight into the receiver? Good luck
  10. I have three of them. Very nice fact is you can use the 60 rd Surefire and Beta mags with them. On off very easy. gbcustom@gmail.com
  11. Make sure the firing pin is not sticking out. if it is slightly sticking out while going into battery, the rim of the shell trying to feed is caught under it and will give you this exact malfunction. Pain in the ass to do but keep the firing pin spring and channel clean.
  12. Glock 17, gen 3, one pin frame. Fired rd comes half way out of the chamber. Comes off the extractor. Does not eject. Next rd in the mag is trying to feed but is blocked by the half out of the chamber rd. How can I tell if I have the known "bad extractor and or bad ejector" shooters say have to be replaced. This happens about five times per 100 rds.
  13. Looking for electronic ear plugs that might double for shooting and hearing the TV better. Battery expense, how long do they last, comfort, back round interference, brand and anything else you can tell me about them. Thanks
  14. Dean, Are we able to shoot Wolf type ammo in your match.
  15. The original advertisement by Surefire said these were developed for the army to use as the first mag in their gun to lay down suppressing fire in the initial contact with the enemy. Then change to standard 30 rounders when cover was reached. No wonder you never see GI's using them in the sand box they are fighting in!!!!!!!!!! Very poor design in my opinion! I bought two of them. After doing everything to them I was told to do by Surefire and friends, They rest in my safe along with all the other stuff I cannot depend on. What did Surefire tell you to do to them? They told me after sending them back to them that I should after taking them apart for regular cleaning, to make sure the two inner springs were installed properly. To check for burrs. Shorten my reloads to 2.220 and to not use them if I thought they were dirty! They are still in my safe.I would not sell them to anyone because I have a conscious. I thought when I took them apart for the first time they would have problems because the small coil spring under the follower would allow it to nose dive easily. I heard that some were out of spec. but mine were not.

  17. This rule is for open class only. All other classes per rule 5.3.4.3 say you cannot use a supporting device, bi-pod monopod etc.
  18. Load some rds. Measure the over all length. Feed them through your gun by manually working the action. Do it vigorously as if they were actually being fired. Measure the over all length to measure any set back. I allow .003 set back but rarely see it.
  19. The thing is that if your comp dips with your style of shooting but is good everywhere else, get rid of the dip and all is good. Drilling the exit hole will cost you nothing but a few shells and a few minutes of your time. Most comps for most right handed shooters go up and to the right. If yours just dips, easy fix. You have nothing to loose
  20. Another way to fix the dip is to open up the exit hole in the front of the comp. That used to be the way to fix the dip problem years ago before comps were improved. Example would be if the exit hole is.240. Increase that by .005 and try it. keep going until you see results. Very easy to do with common drill and bits.
