  1. Prayers sent for a full recovery (I bought the book last month).
  2. I just don't see how shooting with your non-dominant hand would help. If your technique isn't sound with your strong hand it's not going to be any batter with your weak hand.
  3. I'm assuming that's not Kentucky...
  4. Brian's been incredibly helpful with both presses I've bought from him.
  5. The Rydons (and all the other Rudy Project sport glasses) have an adjustable nosepiece that lets you position them as far away or as close to your face as you want. I find that when they're fogging up I just move them a bit farther forward for more airflow and they're good to go. They won't slip, either.
  6. I have the pleasure of shooting with SlowShooter regularly...he's a smart cookie. Be sure and check out his other videos, too.
  7. Geez...I'd never get any work done. About 10-12 club matches a month is about all I can afford/stand to shoot.
  8. Beat me to it. This is what I understand also.
  9. Most of what I've read tends to point otherwise.
  10. This sums it up for me, too. To answer the OP's original question (again...) 1. Affirmative 2. Negative
  11. I've had to shoot prone in both IDPA and USPSA. It's pretty much a crapshoot and it's a "once in a blue moon" type deal for either. There were TWO prone stages at the AL state IDPA match this year, and I had the pleasure of shooting them back to back. My bad back was lovin' it.
  12. I play to win, so I use gear that's the most competitive within the rules of the game. I have no problem with guys that want to use their carry gear, but I'm not gonna handicap myself like that.
  13. My wife is a juvenile probation officer and was on call until midnight tonight. Dispatch called at 11:45...now I'm up too.
  14. No kidding! I have a 34" waist and the gear I listed in my previous post has my belt reaching maximum capacity. Compounding this is the fact that I shoot long guns left handed and handguns right handed. My AR mag has to almost be in the very back because it has to share room with my pistol on my right side.
  15. Sorry I even asked Can't be getting impatient after only three hours...info around here is generally worth the wait. On my 3-gun rig I carry one AR mag, two pistol mags, four shotshell carriers (4-shell), and can add another 6-round shotshell carrier if needed. That's been plenty for every club match I've ever shot...I haven't shot a big one yet.
  16. I plan on getting my Trojan hard chromed soon.
  17. I've shot about 12,000 rounds of BBI 147's through my Glock 34 with no problems. I might have cleaned the gun 3 times during that period, too.
  18. The plain black sight forces you to look for the light on either side of the sight before pulling the trigger rather than just pulling the trigger whenever the glowing orb is in the notch. I too find the fiber optic rather distracting, but I'm not a "top shooter", either.
  19. I doubt SA would market a gun as a "Competition" gun, and then make it so that it can't be used by half of its intended market. I don't have the gun to test, but my educated guess would be yes.
  20. My 930SPX was NOT reliable with anything but high brass birdshot. I traded it for an FN SLP.

    Le Tour

This is the first year in several that I haven't kept up with it. Thanks for the reminder. I think I'll get off the computer and try to find it on TV.
  22. I bent the firing pin on a 9mm 1911 by pulling the trigger with a primerless dummy round in the chamber. Not sure if the firing pin got stuck in the flash hole or against the edge of the primer pocket, but when I ejected the round it was obvious that something was stuck in/on something. The dummy DID eject with a little extra force, but the firing pin was bent in the process.
  23. A red dot on a shotgun will move you into Open according to most match rulesets, so unless you've got the gear on your other guns I wouldn't bother. Most folks are running long tubes and speedloaders, or magazine fed semiautos in Open, so a pump would be a BIG disadvantage. The 500 is great for Heavy Metal, if you have the other guns needed for that Division.
  24. I'll second that. GA State is on my "must shoot" list every year.
  25. Me too. Judging by the maximum weight for the division and the size of the box it can be argued that ESP was DESIGNED for the 9mm 1911. My Trojan decked out with all the legal goodies weighs 42.7 ounces and could not fit the box any better. Recoil with 128pf loads is laughable. Transitions are a bit slower than my Glock 34 SSP gun due to the weight, but the accuracy and lack of recoil MORE than make up for that.
