Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Ok so I'm new to the Open division. I have been awarded the MidwayUSA and NRA Scholarship to shoot in the 2013 Bianchi Cup in May. I have a local gun smithing shop that is willing to lend me a gun for the event. He does awesome work and puts Trijicon Red Dot Sights on the top. This I know is allowed in Open along with his stippling work. My question is this. He does custom Slide Serrations on the top and sides of the pistols that are not factory. Is this legal? Here is his web site for pictures ateiguns.com/ Please let me know I have read through the NRA's competitive pistol rules and it is not specific when it comes to the Open Division. Thanks for your help! Stay Safe
  2. If this is in the wrong place please move. It said rookie so I think it should fit. I'm looking for a red/reflex sight for anywhere under $75-$80. My use is for my Mossberg 500 in which I shoot 3 gun. What is a good sight? I hear alot of people complain about the EoTech... is there a reason? Others seem to like them. Here are a few sights I was looking at. http://tacticalshotgunaccessories.com/mossbergaccessories/reddotsights.htm Thanks ~Cowboy
  3. Sorry I've been a member for about 2 or 3 weeks now, but have not formally introduced myself because of time, work, and going up north. I'm a college student, active gun rights member in the NRA, and Michigan Open Carry. I shoot 3 gun matches (and have been looking for some good sponsorship). I'm an Eagle Scout, and try as often as I can in teaching firearm safety while dealing with Scouts and Scouters. ( I'm NRA Cert, and worked on a NRA Cert. Rifle Range). I'm sure I will learn alot from this forum and have a few questions. Hello to all and while you all say hi to me, what is the number one thing why you guys/gals have joined Brian's Forum?
  4. OK so I started shooting 3 gun about a year and a half ago. I have upgraded my Shotgun which is a mossberg 500 with a side mounted shell holder and a Blackhawk Knoxx Stock that is adjustable. One reason I did this is because I have short arms and the original stock was to long and made it hard for me to pump the gun fast. Now the problem is that the stock is the same height or is in line with the top of the gun. So when you go to aim the shotgun you can't get your cheek low enough on the stock to use the front sight (which is still the stock gold bead) properly which results in a inaccurate shotgun. What type of sight should I get to mount on top of the shotgun so I can use it effectively? I was looking at ghost ring sights from mossberg, or maybe some sort of non-magnifying red dot/reflex sight. Is a Ghost sight a good idea for 3 gun? I haven't seen too many people using them. Thoughts and opinions please.
