  1. Beretta is a good shotgun but try before you buy. For me, the beretta was way too light
  2. Does the ADJ gas block help on a 16inch carbine gas system and is there any problem using this or a LW buffer? Does it work on the 16in carbine lenght as well as it does the 20inch rifle length
  3. Not with the std barrel. Lone wolf makes a barrel and a dust cuver part for this conversion http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=936&CAT=255 http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1099&CAT=255
  4. I had the hammer snap off where the whole spur broke off and split down the hammer. Finished the last stage with a borrowed gun
  5. Had mine on order too for a while. Sitting on a useless pistol right now with no rear sight. Hope they come out soon as they are the only one who cut the sights to your spec for the notch(hate the real shallow notch).
  6. It really wont do anything to prevent it as just having a rule dosent say 100 percent it is never broken. Ok, muzzle goes over burm and a ND happens you DQ them but the round is still went over it. Having that rule did noting as they might go home even with no ND but someone will send one over there eventually before they get stopped
  7. Nothing wrong with the A5. Does it have the 2 piece carrier to allow you to speed load the gun ie run it dry and load directly from the bottom and it automatically chambers the first round?
  8. I would also say spread the new shooters out among the squads and don't put them all on one or 2 squads. Been there and it was a nightmare shooting on a squad where there were only 2 of us out of like 10+ who had ever shot a match before. Don't mind new shooters on the squad but with only 2 people who shot before, that means one on timer and one on score card and a very long tiring day.
  9. I would say as its a good Idea to have shot a pistol match PRIOR to the first multigun. Had a guy I talked to recently talking about shooting the multigun we have coming up. NEVER shot a pistol match at all. Suggested he try the pistol match first to get more of a feel for the movement, range commands etc in a match with only one gun. He didnt like that suggestion as "he is a good shooter". Its always a good idea to know what your doing before you go out to a multigun which is more complex than a pistol only. I would go with also knowing how to operate the gun you are bringing out to shoot. Nothing is worse than running someone who has no idea how to operate the gun. If someone dosent know how to do basic functions such as unload and load their gun, they have zero business shooting a match. Also, if they are new have them inform the club they have never shot before and give them a different colored score sheet to show those running them that. It is also nice that they not get offended when suggestions are made on how to shoot the COF in a safe manner. ie might wanna ditch the sling as your moving from right to left and your gun sling isnt going to allow your muzzle to point down range(happened guy got VERY offended that "this is how he fights with his sling") A gun that is sighted in definately helps lol I could care less if they know their holdovers as they just miss more if they dont or their gun isnt sighted in. Big thing is can they operate safely and not slow everyone down trying to learn how to operate their gun when they get to the line
  10. Used red on my glock front as I had it loosen up with blue. If I need it off, a sodering iron on the screw and turn and out it comes
  11. Whats real bad is when you live like 20 min away from them. Makes it too easy to stroll up there and open the wallet up. I think I can find stuff just as quick as they can up there now lol If anyone wants a good weight loss plan for the new years resolution, move closer and I will bet your wallet becomes lighter.
  12. Light mod or IC is good for an all around choke. The extended ones are nice as they help protect the muzzle when your grounding the shotgun. Other than that personal preference. As with any shotgun, pattern it to make sure POI is where it needs to be. If its shooting a little low, craft stores sell foam sheets by the felt that have peel away backs that stick on the stock to raise the comb. There is going to be more shot in the center of the pattern than on the very edge of it so its good to know where it hits. In the 12 ga, I usually use a Skeet or IC. If I have long shots, I bump up the choke and use a heavier shot but not very common. Did get me a side match win by taking a couple very long shots because I knew where the gun hit and was able to center the pattern and ran a little extra choke and heavier shot to save alot of running.
  13. The problem is what is "Box stock". Do you really consider custom shop "production" guns to be box stock? Would I mind having the restrictions lifted on modification to the trigger as long as it is 3# plus? No All it would mean was someone would simply order the Vanek kit etc with no pretravel and a 3 pound pull. The problem is too many people have alot of money invested in guns to really change at this point might be a costly thing. If it is still in effect in 2013 when it starts, Im dropping the trigger group right out of my old limited glock in the 34 and bumping the pull over 3 pounds with the striker spring weight. I also agree it does make one more chance to go into open. You over trigger weight and then shoot the gun more and more and the pull drops under 3 pounds due to springs wearing, Chrono guy places the weight to low on the trigger(definate concern on pivoting triggers) and welcome to open.
  14. The trigger safety on the glock makes measuring it harder than other triggers without it. Also, where are you going to measure the trigger from on the pivoting trigger. Unlike a 1911, the location of the trigger pull scale can affect the pull quite a bit.
  15. If you're telling me that a 2.5lb trigger is fine on a carry gun, your the first LE professional to tell me so. In any case, it's going to be hard to convince me that a trigger under 3lbs is generally "suitable for carry", but I am of an open mind on making an alteration to the "suitable for carry" requirement. It is sutible for carry if the person carrying it is able to carry it correctly. The typical LEO logic is make the gun safe for the biggest idiot on the force. Someone sets it off early, jack the trigger pull up to 8+ pounds. Looked over my brother's MP he is issued after their "idiot mods were done". They had a couple people ND one, so they upped the trigger pull quite a bit. Some people were dropping mags with the stock MP release so what did they do, install a short release in everyone's gun to prevent it from happening. So now the gun is harder to shoot well, and good luck dropping the mag easily if you need to as you really have to twist the gun around to do so. Point being, LEO decisions should have no effect on the sutibility of a gun for carry as I would bet the vast majority of the shooters here are better capable to use a gun safely than probibally 90 percent or more of the officers out there.
  16. I am not a fan of the flippers or disappearing targets. I the Outlaw scoring, if they put alot of them out there it can have a large impact on the score if they are missed gun hangs up etc. In USPSA, it is way too easy to simply pass them up especially if a reload will be involved. If say the hit factor is 5, and you need to load and shoot 2 shots to shoot them and have to hit them or your really in trouble. At that HF it just isnt worth it usually to try them.
  17. If they wanted to pull the safety issue then they need to knock up the triggers across the board. I would argue it the safety aspect came up that that exact same gun can be shot in the same configuration in L10, Limited or open with the exact same trigger pull on it. If its safe in one its safe in the other.
  18. I agree, it should have been done when it was started not after people have investigated money in their guns. I think the intent was to prevent an arms race but that has alaredy been started to an extent. What It will do now is make a race to the CZ guns since only the first pull is effected not the second shots. If they want a trigger pull weight it should have been done years ago, before all the trigger jobs are out there and it should effect EVERY trigger pull not just the first one. If it ends up going into effect it looks like I will have a Glock 34 for sale in the next year. While we are at it with making equiment that was allowed obsolete how about we say 9mm is allowed for major in limited and make the 40 obsolete as well
  19. Lack of shooting for sure. Im sure a couple of your average 3 gunners could have dropped the whole swarm pretty quickly. Its not like they are fast they just piddle around.
  20. Do you still even remember what end of the gun the bullets come out of. Havent seen you around in forever
  21. I have had to take 1 out and used a "bike hook" from walmart that holds the bikes, ladders etc. Turn it in and pulls it right out.
  22. I have a very small one I built with 2 2x4s hooked together for legs, and a shelf at the bottom. Had very little space and with the weight on the shelf from the bullets and brass it dosent move when loading. Bolting it to the wall wasnt an option as I have it in an apartment so that wouldnt go over well. I have enough room for the Dillon and a single stage I use for resizing and can remove as needed to have the other side free.
