  1. I say keep it. You will get more use out of it than second backup gun sitting in the safe. Worst case is your gun breaks at a match switch over to the ss. I dont see the RM having a problem with you switching from a 20+1 round limited to a SS to finish if it breaks.
  2. looks good. Much nicer than the shorter than stock release on my brother's gun I felt.
  3. Set mine up the same way. tungsten guide rod(the std not long) and a super heavy magwell
  4. Seen a friend who had a tube custom built by a machinest for a browning gold 10 ga without the hole. It did not work right and hung hung the follower. I hole was added and works perfect
  5. For single stacks I have Dawson Ice with the arched on one gun, techwell with arched on another. I have an arched on the 2011 as well. For me at least, it feels closer to the glock grip
  6. Have the spartan and it works great I say go for it The difference can be used for mags and a trigger job etc
  7. I know. I went in for like 15 bucks worth of parts and he tried to sell me a gun
  8. I would probibally just pay and have an adj comb done on the gun. Well worth the money and is just like an adj sight
  9. prime example of not a significant example would be he video flexmoney posted a while ago where he dropped down and shot an array from the ground and his foot touched past the fault line when doing so. I say one penalty unless its very obvious there is a large advantage gained. I just dont see a foot rolling over the fault line as a significant advantage
  10. On my extended button guns both 1911 and 2011 I always run the heavy mag spring in the mag release. The light one is just asking for a mag issue. Had a guy we shoot with try that with a 2011 and dropped them pretty bad with that light spring
  11. My only complaint is they DO show up on my credit card too often.
  12. I have an edbrown button on mine and love it
  13. + 1 on brand. I have seen alot of problems with the schere brand
  14. what kind of rifle? What kind of trigger Factory or built gun
  15. a 6 inch factory feels heavy. the 6 inch with the slide lightened feels like a totally different gun. I had a stock eagle that would wobble almost when shot. Had bobby tri top it, do a "hi-power" cut and gills to take weight out of the nose and the tri-top to lighten the whole thing up. Feels like a different gun. If you try/feel a 6 inc feel a lighened 6inch
  16. for under 3 grand price, I would have a custom built by someone like freedom gunworks, cheeley etc. Then your get a gun thats built how you want it and is setup as a competition gun
  17. make sure you check your mag tube on the 870. If it is a new one it will have dimples at the end of the tube that need to be removed for a mag extention.
  18. Was checking more on if the shorties had the standard full length recoil guide rod etc like the 5 inch guns of if it was a cut down one needing different springs etc
  19. Ya its newby friendly. If you have any questions or anyting on the stage just ask somewhere and they will be willing to help you out
  20. if you call dawson, they have mag basepads that are made for magwells. I run them in the dawson and they sit pretty much flush as pictured
  21. Width all depends on you. My glock has the 125 rear and 115 front. On my 2011 6inch, i have a 110 front and 115 rear. I tried the .100 front and for me accuracy suffered. Some like alot of light others less its all what works for you
  22. none in the northern KY area. Come on down to wilmore(just outside lexington). We have one down here every other month. www.bgslinc.com Other that that which is the closest. owensboro also has a very good 3 gun match. For the rifle, DPMS has a good18inch rifle length tube barrel. That with a freefloat handguard makes for a good start without breaking the bank
  23. I have just been checking the suppliers for one to show up. Picking up a couple when they do. probibally another month or so
  24. exactly alot will load 1.180 or longer for the 2011/1911 and 1.135 or so for the glock etc. I say away from min OAL as even a slight varience under that can spike pressures
