  1. Congrats! Sounds like one heck of a deal. Hope you are able to put it to good use this next season.
  2. Purchased a Beretta compact clone (ATI) manufactured in Turkey a few years back for $300/new. Decent pistol for the price. Ended up gifting it to my brother.
  3. Thanks for coming back and providing an update.
  4. For USPSA, you'll want the 3g or 4g ones.
  5. Isn't this the company that filed for bankruptcy lately? If so, I thought I read about orders being delayed.
  6. Congrats on the fine purchase. The TSO always brings a smile to my face when I shoot it. You indeed have the newer design/update. Not sure why CZ went back to the older style trigger guard while still spending the effort to provide the improved (finer) checkering on the grip. If you are using the DAA holster block you’ll need the TS/CM one, rather than the TSO one. @tacomandood, I just noticed that the pic you posted has 5 mags. Did they all come with your TSO, or were the two without black base pads yours already?
  7. Thanks for the feedback Jack. I've been doing a lot of reading/research on this topic. Seems there's quite the variety of opinions on what's good/bad, etc. I.e. lots of folks love WAC, however one well respected gent (KA) has quite the opposite opinion. I'm going to pick up a couple of the recommended powders and see what works. And yes, I'll be using a chrono!
  8. Going to R&D some 9mm major (for open division) loads this winter. Looking for some feedback/suggestions on my plan. I have some 124gr coated bullets, so I'm wanting to start load development with these before trying lighter bullets. From the reading I've done, there seems to be several powders in favor for 9mm Major loads, using 124/125'ish bullets. 1) HS6 2) WAC 3) Shooters World, Major pistol Looking for feedback on these powders, as this group has a substantial amount of reloading experience with 9 major for Open division in USPSA
  9. Curious to know, which division you intend to shoot the 9mm in? I shoot USPSA Limited (mostly) and found that my TSO 9mm sits in the safe more than not, as my scores don't show any difference between it and it's .40 big brother.
  10. Another lad looking for some deals on primers. Really miss the $19.99 cabelas primer deals on spp
  11. I'm getting ready to stock up for next year and looking to see what deals are out there for reloading components.
  12. @telligentgunner are you running the 11 or 13 coil springs? Also, are the followers grams or CZC? I have found that CZC followers with the SP base pads had feeding issues, similar to what you're seeing. I switched to grams spring/followers and CZC base pads and haven't had any issues since. I haven't shot the 9mm in a bit, however if memory serves me correct you can 23 or 24 in the stick, reloadable and 100% reliable. For anyone that runs across this post in the future- I'd want to say that it's possible my CZC spring/followers and SP base pad likely could have been adjusted to work, as many folks use this setup just fine. Since I had another setup on hand and it solved my issue, I never got around to trying to make any adjustments.
  13. The CZ TS or TSO are both great limited guns. Only upgrades that are needed are follower and extended base pad to get you to 20 rounds in the mag. The STI Edge is a bit more expensive and will also require updated followers and base pad to get you to 20 rounds in the mag. Some folks find that their mags need to be 'tuned' in order to feed properly. I have both pistols and would recommend the CZ, unless you have a compelling reason to get a 2011. I.e. the 2011 trigger design or ergonomics are preferred, you like to tinker, the ability to run different weight/design grips appeals to you, etc. etc.

    New Czechmate

Looks to me like a 'newer' (wide/thick trigger guard) CM, however it doesn't have the updates (mag release & safety) that the recent TSOs have.
  15. Easy enough to check without a gauge or tools. Just remove the barrel and drop a round in it. the round should spin freely and drop out.

    New Czechmate

@clw42 curious if your CM came with the new style mag release, like the new TSOs are.
  17. Could be that the ammo is too long.
  18. Thanks for the pictures @abb1 seems the improved design locking lug is being used on all of the newer TS/TSO models.
  19. Wow, interesting factoid.? Yep, makes absolute sense now
  20. Not sure if you're ordering for a team/department or other. I needed to wrap my head around 1M (1,000,000) per year and this is what i came up with- >2,700 rounds per day, each and every day of the year Now that's some dedication and a serious callous on your booger picker

    TSO 40

20K rounds through mine. Replaced slide stop and rear (adj one) sight.
  22. Sound advice. I forgot there's a caliber conversion required.
  23. @clw42 I went through basically the same thought process as you. Here's what I ended up doing and why. Purchased a used 2011 to gain experience with how this platform shoots, maintenance, etc. I'll use the winter months (no matches from now through like March here) to familiarize myself with the gun. If I'm still pleased with it come spring time, run some matches with it and compare times/scores to last year shooting the CZ TSO. If I decide the 2011 isn't for me, I will be able to sell it (should get most of my money back) and get a CZ for open (either CM or convert a TS/TSO), which is where I'll be in 3-5 years depending on how my eyes treat me On the other hand, if I determine the 2011 platform is better (for me) than the CZ, I'll look at either converting my limited 2011 to open or buying another 2011 for open.
  24. @Fasthenk65 the TSO typically prefer ammo ammo with shorter Overall Length (OAL). Not so easy to quantify as the geometry of the projectile comes into play. In general for 9mm, ammo with OAL of 1.090" works well and for .40 S&W target 1.13" or so. Other OALs may work just fine, depending upon the design/geometry of the bullet. Good luck and hope you find a TSO soon! I find these to be fantastic firearms.
