Chuckie45
Please concider my humble aplication. I only have a few Limited-10 classifiers on file, but I also shoot CDP in IDPA. And to help my aplication I rebuilt this 1911 as my carry gun (hopefully without offending JMB).

mgood
What ever happened to the monthly standings? I enjoyed checking them, not that it mattered, but..... I've been slacking. And the newer forum software doesn't work as well with the way I was listing them. Working on that. I'll get them up, but I'm not sure when. T Bacus
Ha, apply to your club! Beg enough and I might bless you with my membership! This picture, from 1985, that's right, 85! Back when single stack was the only stack. The gun has a comp, because no comp was so 1984, and I don't feel like scanning my pics from 84. BYW, the match is the 1985 Oregon State Championships and I will bless 'special super secret old timer blessings' on the first person who knows who the RO in the picture is! And for the record, USPSA number is A-1776
zhunter
T Bacus I'm very sorry for the delay, totally my fault, I've been out of the country and not checking in for the past 7 weeks. Typically you need a more detailed application, please see page 1 go this thread. I will approve your membership on your longstanding participation. That being said, we all like gun porn, so let's see your blaster both right and left sides T Bacus is a non-voting member Congrats
mgood
New baby Commander-size Rock Island. .45 ACP. I've been experimenting with kitchen-table gunsmithing. So far I've limited myself to small parts that can be easily replaced if I screw them up. Before I start hacking on frames and slides of more expensive pistols, I decided to get something that doesn't brake the bank if it ends up as scrap. I didn't realize when I ordered that it has a bull barrel, making it illegal for Singlestack Division (4.25"). No biggie, I didn't get it for competition anyway. Plans include checkering front strap, slight undercut of trigger guard, mag well (maybe the Stan Chen weld-on which don't extend the grip and, IMO look bad-ass), beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety (probably ambi), new grips (already have from Esmeralda), new trigger, new hammer, trigger job, flat-top slide, tritium sigths, and open up the ejection port a bit. If I manage all that without destroying it, I know a guy who does really nice engraving and I may have him fluff it up a little before having it refinished. mgood
Mock-up using parts from other guns: Mainspring housing/mag well, thumb safety, trigger, and mag catch are from my STI USPSA Singlestack. Hammer is from my Kimber Ultra CDP. Those grips will probably end up on it, but everything else will be black. Hammer is from my Kimber Ultra CDP. Those grips will probably end up on it, but everything else will be black. If you got one of those barrel facing cutters from Brownells and re-crowned the barrel back .050 you'd be good to go. Might have to cut the slide face back the same amount to match (depending on how far the barrel sticks out of the slide now) but you could do that with a flat piece of thick glass and some 100 grit wet or dry sandpaper and water. Not that I already have too many projects in the safe, but I thought a Commander-sized SS Division gun built on a Caspian race ready recon (railed) frame and matching slide with as many bells and whistles as Caspian will cut into the frame and slide, a Schuemann or Bar-Sto or KKM bull barrel and all the other goodies that would normally go into such a build would be a toy to play with at our local matches. Side note question: Is KKM still in business? I never did get the barrel I ordered online for one of said safe projects, or any answers to online queries.
