Looks for Target

Looks for Target (4/11)

  1. How we gonna to define, um, inactivity?
  2. I was going to show this to a buddy of mine and now I can't find it. Is it gone for good or does anyone know where I can get a link?
  3. If you got one of those barrel facing cutters from Brownells and re-crowned the barrel back .050 you'd be good to go. Might have to cut the slide face back the same amount to match (depending on how far the barrel sticks out of the slide now) but you could do that with a flat piece of thick glass and some 100 grit wet or dry sandpaper and water. That has been considered, and not completely ruled out.
  4. Shown with my pseudo-Wilson shotgun, a Remington 870 inspired by the Scattergun Technologies Standard Model. [Wilson magazine extension, Wilson mag spring and follower, Wilson oversize safety button, Wilson side-saddle shell carrier (which I'm pretty sure is made by TacStar), Surefire forend/light, XS big dot tritium front sight, ATI adjustable stock.]
  5. Details, before I added the scope: Wilson Combat Recon Tactical in 6.8 SPC with the 16" fluted barrel <click the link for specs from the website.
  6. Wilson Combat Recon Tactical in 6.8mm SPC II with the 16" fluted stainless barrel. Wearing a Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x20mm in a Wilson Combat Accu-Rizer Scope Mount. Also has Wilson Combat Quick Detach Sight Set as a backup sight system.
  7. Mock-up using parts from other guns: Mainspring housing/mag well, thumb safety, trigger, and mag catch are from my STI USPSA Singlestack. Hammer is from my Kimber Ultra CDP. Those grips will probably end up on it, but everything else will be black.

  9. New baby Commander-size Rock Island. .45 ACP. I've been experimenting with kitchen-table gunsmithing. So far I've limited myself to small parts that can be easily replaced if I screw them up. Before I start hacking on frames and slides of more expensive pistols, I decided to get something that doesn't brake the bank if it ends up as scrap. I didn't realize when I ordered that it has a bull barrel, making it illegal for Singlestack Division (4.25"). No biggie, I didn't get it for competition anyway. Plans include checkering front strap, slight undercut of trigger guard, mag well (maybe the Stan Chen weld-on which don't extend the grip and, IMO look bad-ass), beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety (probably ambi), new grips (already have from Esmeralda), new trigger, new hammer, trigger job, flat-top slide, tritium sigths, and open up the ejection port a bit. If I manage all that without destroying it, I know a guy who does really nice engraving and I may have him fluff it up a little before having it refinished.

  11. I've been slacking. And the newer forum software doesn't work as well with the way I was listing them. Working on that. I'll get them up, but I'm not sure when.
  12. That link didn't work for me today. Try this: This must never die.
  13. I think you'll love that pistol. I do. I'll be shooting my CZ 452 Varmint in a smallbore rifle silhouette match tomorrow.
  14. I haven't been on the forum in a while so I just saw this post. I've had the exact same set up for about a year. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=153190#entry1737454 STI USPSA Singlestack 9mm. I have ten-round mags from both Tripp and Dawson. It runs flawlessly with either.
  15. Supply and demand. If someone is dumb and/or desperate enough to pay that, I hardly blame the merchant for selling it for what he can get.
