My son James shot one of the 13.5" Armalites and loved it. He had no trouble hitting out to 450 yards with it. Once you know your hold overs drop doesn't really matter. For those who remember the boat stage at FN a few years ago, he went one for one on those two awkward shots off the trailer hitch with it.

It was around the beginning of 2017.

I've had one in the SV 9mm I built over ten years ago. Never a problem.

I've seen to different SLP's have that pin break.

Have you checked with RCI, they could probably cut and re-thread their 10 round mono-tube to 8 rounds.

The difference is something you might notice dry handling the gun but never notice in actual match use. That said I bought one of the new JP titanium comps and I'm loving it.

Not a 100% positive but pretty sure the A400 gas system prevents you from adding an extended magazine tube.

I installed a Noveske QD mount in a Versamax forend.

I've opened two Armalite 5.56 comps to 9mm but used a milling machine to do it.

My upper of choice on the three PCC's I've built has been the Aero Slick Side. No need for the FA so why have it? Makes for a very clean looking rifle. As for comps, I've used the JP on two and an Armalite comp on the third. I opened the comp up to 9MM, sent it and the barrel to ADCO and had them cut and re-thread it so the barrel would be just over 16" pin and welded. It came out pretty nice.

Sell then while they are still in demand and replace with Invictus? I used and liked the AP's years ago, but had the same problem.

Alma, The Versamax uses a dual spring. Assuming the springs are about the same size I can bring you in a set of the VM springs for you to try in your Browning.

I've put the STI/Bomar style rear sight on a few shotguns. I don't really like the way it looks but I can't deny that the .115 rear notch combined with a Hi-Viz fiber front is one heck of a good sight picture that allows you to adjust for point of impact.

I was there. The RO in question does a good job and is a pretty experienced shooter but I think the shooters action caught him off guard and since he couldn't call for certain that the 180 was broken, and the fact that the shooter did have the pistol pointed down and not behind the line he made his decision in the shooters favor. From my perspective, probably the same perspective as the OP, yeah I'd have DQ'ed the shooter. FYI the shooter did it again on stage one of the match but clearly allowed the muzzle to break the 180 and the same RO DQ'ed him for it.

If you can afford the 1301 get it. The only thing it needs out of the box is the extended tube and some additional opening up on the load port. I run the Remington Versamax but if I didn't use that I'd be shooting the Beretta.

We have a new local shooter who is a very small 13yo girl. Her father bought her a Weatherby SA-08 in 20 guage and I worked it over for her. It's stupid light weight, less than six pounds, comes with a short stock and Nordic makes a 10 round tube for it. Load port design is very similar to a 1301 and easy to open up, with the serial number being located to the rear on the receiver. I tapped the bolt release and put on a Nordic button and replaced the bead with a Hi-Viz front sight. The gun recoils lightly, although recoil was not the primary issue as she shot a 1301 and a Benelli M4 in her first match, the issue was a gun light enough that she could handle in comfortably being as she is only 5' and weights 65lbs. I use three chokes in my Versamax. Light Modified is my general, all round choice. In the occasional stage where all of the shotgun targets are clay birds I use a Cylinder Bore choke. Finally I have an Extra Full tube for when there is an exceptionally hard set target or spinners at longer than necessary range. As for ammo, I perfer a 1 1/8oz load at 1150 - 1200fps. Use whatever brand is cheapest and runs in your gun. I like Remington Gun Club.

So zero at 459.6 yards?

Four Versamax's I have worked on. The green zombie is mine.

Five 2011's I've built over the last 15 years or so, together in one photo. All 40S&W. Commander carry gun on an SVI frame, Caspian slide. 5" on a STI slide and frame set, 5" on an SVI slide and frame set, 6" two-tone tactical with STI frame and Caspian slide. 6" with an SVI frame and Caspian slide.

I always new these Benelli's where problems waiting to happen!
