Case lube options

One shot works great but in my opinion dillon lube is better. BUT Dillon leaves a lot of residue on the brass, gums up Casefeeder etc so I went back to one shot.

I also use one shot.  If I think the cases are too oily, then I'll throw them in the tumbler for 10-15 minutes.

FWIW, I've also used the home brew of Lanolin and alcohol.  It's just easier with one shot.

Make your own with Stabil, and pure lanolin. Get the  red container of stabil its 100% alcohol. Mix it 12 to 1. Mix in a spray bottle. Works better than one shot, and way cheaper.

I agree that it's cheaper. I have several bottles of homemade lanolin/100% alcohol. Very slick and works like a dream. But like I said it is considerably gunky and leaves way to much residue. One shot is nearly as good with little to no mess.

Last time I cleaned a batch of brass I tried something a bit different. I wet tumble in a cement mixer and do the Dawn / Lemmishine thing then wash and wax. Also Lanolin/ 99% for lube. This time after wash and wax I drained water, refilled and added about 1.5oz of Lanolin and ran for 10 minutes then didn’t rinse off. Have been loading with no additional lube and this has worked pretty well. I still after loading 3-4 hundred spread them out on a towel and wipe off with alcohol to remove any excess. This has worked well and gets rid of the gunk issue.

One shot is fine with pistol loading. I dont think it does the job on necked cases. something lanolin/alcohol based works better for that. I had a few cans of one shot but once they were used up I stick to the DIY stuff

I use one shot on 9MM and .223 brass with zero issues.

I use one shot on straight wall revolver cases, if I am doing rifle use Imperial Sizing Wax made by Redding now.

The one shot just makes the progressive press work easier for loading pistol rounds even with carbide dies.

Using One Shot. Didn't see this thread, just started one about an interesting experience with One Shot last night. 🙂

Go to Amazon and order that CO2 fire extinguisher because someday you will be glad you did.

WD 40 for 9mm and .223 at an automated Dillon 1100. Over 10k on each without issue.

Easy to clean the cases afterwards and the casefeederbowl can be just whiped with a tower.

Bold move! WD40 is a powder/primer  killer.

Sarge didnt someone test soaking primers in water and WD? I thought they found 0 failed after a week long soak. Im sticking with lanolin/alcohol either way.

Had not heard about that test. Interesting as I have always been taught to keep WD40 away from ammo

Which WD40?  There are several different WD40 Specialist flavors.
