buffalo chip
My first open gun I ran 2 stacked. No problem in 20k. My second works with one only no problems in 15k.

Whitefish
I run aluminum shock buffers in my Dawson open guns and polymer ones before that (for several years) and never had an issue related to the shock buffer. I just change them out when the look worn or too beaten up.
Jmo2011
What are the benefits of using aluminum over the regular style?
ChuckS
The buffer discussion can take on the characteristics of tastes great - less filling arguments. That aside, I am curious if anybody had done a detailed study of buffer effects on dot tracking? Like 8-10 pound springs with/without buffers, poly vs. Al buffers, etc. TIA, Chuck
S&W686
I use a Almua Buff form Dawson in my Freedom Gunworks 9mm Open gun and it has worked very well for me.
Tochnost
Are those using buffers clipping the recoil springs or leaving them at the standard length? I just bought a used open gun and it seems to have limited travel with a full length spring and a shock buff.
Sarge
None for me thanks.
