LoveMyKimbers
Getting ready to start reloading again. It's been years, use to reload for my Dad on a single stage press. Thinking about ordering a Dillion XL650. Have most of the components need powder. What do you use? Thanks in advance for your input.

GuildSF4
Universal Clays or Titegroup, depends on what I can get and these work for several calibers.

wgj3
Regular Clays, Bullseye, and Promo have all worked fine for me.
Guest
WW 231 works great in the .45, also.
Mikethor
WSI 231 I use in my 550 . Works great.
bull2700
N-310, clays, solo 1000, N-320 in that order, for me anyway.
Msfinlayson
Clays, N-320 and Hp-38/231. In that order. Clsys has by far been my favorite.
perrysho
"OLD RULE OF THUMB" Lite weight bullets = Fast burning powder. Heavy weight bullets = Slower burning powder. NOT a FIT/FIX ALL! Buy a chrono along with the 650, do your own load development. Powder is about the cheapest thing you will buy for reloading, any left over can load practice ammo. 1 lb = 7000 grains = 1300 to 1400 rounds of pistol ammo. In 50 years no savings to buy a BMW, maybe a MULE. Be SAFE, Perry

Sparky
Regular Clays is great, but doesn't flow well in my Dillon 550. WST is great powder, but is an inverse powder (colder air temp the hotter the load). VV N320 works great; is a little more expensive, but flows well in my 550 and is not temp sensitive. Marv Z
I'm currently using Clays and don't really like it.It smokes too much indoors and stinks. I use N320 for all my .40 cal stuff and it's great. Is N310 slower that 320? I'd like to find a replacement for Clays.
Too_Slow
N310 is faster. The lower the number in the 300 series the faster it is. Brian
Marv Z
So what's the best option for 45 with Vit powder? I have lots of 320, but I figured it was too fast for 230 gr bullets.

Marv Z
I'm going to try some N320 till I can find some 330. If it works as well in 45 as 40, it'll be my new choice. Thanks for the info!!! Edited January 19, 2013 by Marv Z
