Dacsoft
Yes, I keep fiber and everything needed to replace them in my bag.
GregJ
Yep, had the FO front on my CZ break at a pin match, ever since, I keep a small kit in my range bag.
Gryff
Definitely. Only takes one high-speed shot string where the muzzle comes back down and you think, "Where #### did my red dot go?!!!" to drive home the importance of having spare FO tubing with you at the match. gohuskers
Yep. As well as a few extra parts - like a recoil spring, etc. Maybe i'll just get an extra gun instead of "wasting" all this money on parts. That'll convince the wife for sure! tbarker13
Yah. After losing a FO sight in a recent match, I picked up spare fiber for each of the different sights I might have with me at any given time. I don't carry a lighter (though I probably should). Poppa Bear
Have a couple of feet of orange, green, and red in 1mm and 1.5 mm diameters. Along with a box that contains extra firing pins, trigger bars, sights, springs, and other parts.
waktasz
Nope. Switched all my guns to use a thin, plain front sight.
West Texas Granny
Yep. As well as a few extra parts - like a recoil spring, etc. Maybe i'll just get an extra gun instead of "wasting" all this money on parts. That'll convince the wife for sure! What? I thought everyone bought 2 of everything. No wonder I'm broke. Edited October 14, 2011 by West Texas Granny
sanman
Nope. Switched all my guns to use a thin, plain front sight. Thin black sights rock. Leaves more room in the bag for cigars too
LikesToShoot
Not kept in bag. FO & matches are in small zip loc bag placed in left top pocket of shooting vest.
blu46and2
Yes, absolutely as well as cuticle trimmers to cut and a lighter to seal it.
BillD
We are talking about 25 cents worth of FO. I change mine out before a match, even a club match and keep 6" of rod in the bag. I drill through the sights so I can melt the rod on both ends, no epoxy. With all the other money spent on gas, ammo, practice etc. 25 cents seems like a good investment. I like a nice bright FO. That's about the only spare part I carry. Except for the spare gun.
a matt
Yes, and extra mags and anything that you think might fail at a match.
LikesToShoot
Yes, and extra mags and anything that you think might fail at a match. BiilD covers it well with: "That's about the only spare part I carry. Except for the spare gun." I don't have the spare gun, yet, but then I don't travel much,...yet. IceDevil
Ever since another shooter who lost his FO frantically came up to me at a match and asked if I had an extra piece of FO in my bag, I have kept extra FO and a lighter in my range bag. Never lost a piece, but it's cheap insurance and doesn't add much weight to my already overstuffed range bag.
donbryant993
Si... in both red and green as well as two different sizes.
torrpd
Yes, had my FO fall out twice at two separate matches. Always keep extra.
Mr. B
I have extra rods, a lighter, clippers, an extra front sight, an extra recoil spring assembly, other small parts, and a spare gun. Also, in my truck I keep a lot of extra ammo, just in case someone runs low.
blaster113
I have extra fiber optic rod in my spare parts kit along with a lighter and spares for almost every single part in my 2011 Limited/Open guns except for barrels, sights and grips. Much as I'd like a spare gun spare parts are way cheaper.
Steve Moneypenny
I kept 2 or 3 spares in the bag and all the things needed to make it happen when i shot with one, but i prefer Plain Black Sights most of the time now.
