I was having feeding problems with extreme flat points in my 1911 .45acp.
  2. What the hell! I don't even know how I got it in this forum. Lol!
  3. What the hell! I don't even know how I got it in this forum. Lol!
  4. I have a M&P sport. I'm new to AR's. I want set this up for 3G and home defense. I'm looking for the poor man's version. I'm going to get a Rolling Thunder Comp. I Think. Not sure what buffer system would be best. Just want to get the recoil down best I can. Will probably change the trigger as well. Won't be shooting a ton of three gun witch is why I'm going this route. I've shot a lot of USPSA. And will stay with that as my main sport. If I get into 3G more serious then I'll get a strait competition AR. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
  5. If you have shot USPSA matches on staff day you know what to expect. I know a lot of the guys that were working the match. There were f-ing tired after shooting all day Friday, then chasing around everyone with a little timer thingy Saturday and Sunday. Try it sometime and see how you feel. To all the staff, Brian and Ken great job. I shot last year and this year on staff day. It was great! Again! But I think I will do Sat. & Sun. next year. I was damn tired when I left, and then got stuck in stupid traffic on the way home. Thanks again to all you volunteers. With out you we have no match.
  6. I also use a silicone rag for this.
  7. After shooting it I'm going to stick with the one that came with the Trophy Match. Its fit is damn near perfect. Great shooter. Changed the springs and after the C&S trigger was put in it breaks right at 21/2 pounds. VZ operator OIl and Dawson magwell and front fo sight to finish it off. Its near perfect. I think I will replace rear sight. Dident do a great job rounding the corners. It bothers me.
  8. MikeRush. I saw the thread you started. It was a few years back. So you have gone back to the bigger radius? No gains from installing the square with the 1/16 radius. My gunsmith was against it when I first mentioned it. But I'm curious by nature. Just cat stop looking to improve the 1911. Always trying to learn more.
  9. Im putting all solid bar stock parts on. This is the once in a lifetime gun for me. Right now. lol! I'm going to buy Wilson bullet proof parts, already put some on. The last 3 things I need are ejector, extractor, and firing pin stop. Might replace all the pins with EGW or Wilson. But its getting the works. I just cant figure out if the square bottom stop is worth putting on for competition or not.
  10. Is this something that works well for competition? I thought you wanted the slide to move faster. Doesn't this slow it down. Or is it that big of a plus to have. Want to add one , but only if its going to help that much more. Wide love to hear from people on both sides. Thanks
  11. If you can afford the electronic Hear Pros I highly recommend them. I won a pair at Double Tap last year and love them. The passive ones work great also. Ill never where head gear again. Hear Pros customer service is awesome.
  12. I usually don't engage myself in these conversations, its like talking Religion,Music,or politics. What's a better truck Ford no Chevy. I have to say its an imperfect world and the time spent trying to fix it for the complainers is a waist of time They will always find something wrong. I know Im one of them.LOL!! There will be people that will disagree with this post. But I cant control that. That being said I hate the fact that In IDPA there is no foul line for cover, instead I either hear cover,COVER!!! Or I just get the penalty. And the only thing is a toe sticking out. If the person shooting at me can hit my big toe. Then Ill be dead before this is a issue. Please put cover foul lines in and there will be a lot less arguing. Then a shooter will know where he needs to be and so will the S.O. In USPSA I have complaints with them to. Im not going to take up the time to explain them. I like shooting both games for different reasons. I will leave it to other people to decide my fate for the way Im going to play these games. When it gets to the point I no longer enjoy the games because of the rule changes. I will find some other game to shoot. Witch it sounds like some are doing. Right now I love the people, and the 2 games to much to leave either. YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE AT LIFE! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT?
  13. I have done that. Called Apex they are sending a new striker block. If it doesn't work then back to the old Apex comp kit. Great customer serv ice which is why I love them guys.
  14. Did you ever find anything on those sights from Dawson or Warren. Very interested to know.
  15. I have yet to solve the problem with the light strikes. So I put back in the stock trigger and am going to call apex and try and send it back. I have had tried everything under the sun to make it work. Springs, changing the size of the trigger bar loop. Both multiple ways and configurations. I wish I would have keep track of the ammo and hours I went through while doing this, and how many times I have had the gun apart. Im beyond frustrated. Last night I lost the plug where the thumb safety goes. I have a chance to get a CORE in .40 but cant find after market iron sights for it that are lower like this gun. Whats sad is I have wanted one of these triggers since they first came out. Im going to go shoot it and see if that was truly the problem. But of corse I put the wrong trigger spring in and have to take it apart one more f&^*ing time. Signed, Truly Pissed.
  16. It happens with both USB's. I don't think it's necessarily from the striker releasing on the trigger break. I'm thinking it might actually be after the trigger bar resets and the slide is still moving, that the striker bounces around and hits the USB. I haven't shot enough rounds through my regular M&P to see if it happens on stock ones yet or not. Something this just made me think of. When looking at my brass after its been fired the strike on the primer is way off from where it was before. New barrel maybe?
  17. No need to buy a glock if your on this forum. 18 of them failed the safety test at Area 7 while a whopping 0 M&P's failed. However, you did leave out that little detail about the RAM until this post. The FSS doesn't work reliably with a RAM. Not sure if that is the cause of your light strikes, but I would take it out. I tried that, and still had light primer strikes. I will not be buying a glock. Just my sarcasm leaking into my fingers. I still like the platform. What problems is it causing with the FSS installed?
  18. This has been one hell of a journey with this gun the last few weeks. The frustration level was at a 10. This is going to be long. Sorry Im no word smith, just a ordinary crane operator.I have had my m&p since 2010. It has worked flawlessly until right around 8 to 10,000 rounds.First I changed out the old sear block so I could have the bigger sear plunger for the FSS I was buying in the near future. Then the front sight drifted and bought a new front. Tried to drift the rear sight and could not get the screw out. Drilled it out bought a new sight. Started missing shots I thought I called (with the new sights). Stuck it on a bag at 20 yards and it was all over the place. Even had a shot miss the target completely. Got a KKM shot around 70 rounds and got it sighted in pretty good. Can get 10 shots in the a zone now from 20 yards. Shot a match today and it did pretty good. Hear is where I wanted to throw the gun very, very far away from me. I have wanted to get a FSS since b4 they came out, started shooting SS and forgot about it, until I started shooting it again the last couple months. Put FSS in Thursday evening and for the next 4 hours took that thing apart more times than I can count and tried every spring combination I could to stop the light primer strikes witch were 3 out of every 5 rounds. It got dark. Woke up next morning cuz I thought of stuff while laying in bed stewing, and changed the RAM spring put the factory trigger return spring back in and the key thing I did was take out the brand new striker assembly and clean the striker channel. Cuz I forgot to clean that but cleaned everything else. Well since then plus the match today it has had 2 light strikes. Its still not striking with the same force but its a lot better than it was. Im going to tweek the loop on the trigger bar tomorrow and see if its the little bit more I need. Other than that just got the extractor left b4 that raises its ugly head. Its popped up a couple times this week. I think my new gun will be awesome. LOL!!!!! Oh! If your going to say should have bought a GLOCK. Don't think for one second I didn't think of it........
  19. I will look at this and let you know. Thanks!
  20. I just installed the Apex FSS. In my M&P Pro9. I am now having light primer strikes. Did not have them b4 I installed. It has a bran new stock striker assembly in it. I have taken all the comp. springs off and only have the FSS springs and it still is having light strikes. Im pretty good at trouble shooting this stuff. But cant put my finger on this. Also just installed a KKM barrel.
  21. Well I got it today after a troubled journey. I shot it from 15 yards 3 shots made a 1inch group off hand fairly fast.Think its gonna work. Now if I can figure out my light strikes after installing the FSS and multiple spring changes. ?
  22. I know it depends on bullet make. But has anyone shot 147s out of there KKM. Ive heard good things but I am worried because they have a 1 in 20 twist. I heard a 1 in 10 is the way to go. My gun is not very accurate and I have one of these on the way. Any feed back would be great. I shoot a m&p 5in pro 9mm. From 2010.
  23. I read a story that Ben wrote somewhere about a shooter that was giving better points than what they were, and he argued to get them corrected to the lower points. I shot a few times with Eric Gambill. I was joking with him about something to do with cheating. Harmless stuff you do with friends. He said he never would put his integrity in a position to be questioned. I have much respect for that dude. Sorry I put your name out there Eric. But its a good thing.
  24. Because I like shooting the cheaper 9mm ammo, I like 23+1 rounds to start with, i can shoot faster with the minor pf 9mm than with major pf .40, and I like the way my limited Pro feels with the 9mm minor loads. I'm sure I could think of some other reasons, but that'll do for now. Besides, at 61 years old, I ain't gonna win nothin' anyway, but I love to shoot lots of bullets and have fun! And fun is the best thing to have. Its a movie quote. Sorry
