sperman
Why don't you start a new thread asking for info on that match. This thread is about Area 6. You could also try and contact Manny. I think he is now partners with Frank Garcia. (I currently live in NC, but I grew up in GA )
Charles Bond
Given the artic blast throughout the south, shooting south of Orlando in the Florida sunshine is sounding better and better.

Charles Bond
Awww...No TechWear shirt option this year. That's too bad. Last years' A6 shirts were awesome. Has anyone asked Linda if this is an option? I think if shooters tell Linda that is what they want she will make it available.
Charles Bond
I ran into lots of shooters at SHOT who are pumped about returning to the Area 6 match. I spoke with Manny Bragg who reports that the remodel of the range is complete and they now have more than 30 bays. For those of you who do not know it, Universal Shooting Academy is also selling ammo.

Chris Keen
30 bays is the real deal! I've shot down there a few times, and they have such an ideal spot of land for hosting a Nats, you can't not believe it! Looking forward to this A6 match, and many more future matches. Charles Bond
Anybody know when self-service squadding will be up? Is there any reason to to use the self-service squadding? It would seem to me that any headache a MD can avoid is worth it.
wgnoyes
Self-service squadding works and works well, as we demonstrated over the last decade with the 2005-2010 A6 championships and numerous other major matches in the Georgia Section. sperman
Rather than hi-jack the Area 6 thread, I started another thread on the topic of self-serve squadding. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122283
Charles Bond
Based on what I hear from my yankee friends, the more it snows "up narth", the more excited they are about shooting the area 6 match.
Chris Keen
That's partly true Charles, but it's mostly because you guys put on a really, really great match!

Filishooter
It would be nice to get confirmation of your entry and check I received a confirmation email with more detail on the match about 3 weeks after I sent my entry and fees in. It said "I have received your registration information. This message is to confirm that you are pre-registered for the 2011 USPSA Area 6 Pistol Championship in Frostproof FL on April 15-17." and other match info. Charles Bond
Someone called last night and left a message regarding places to camp close to the range but my recorder cut off before I could hear the entire number. I know that Frank Garcia has allowed some camping on the range in years past at the Florida Open but you would need to check with him or his staff to see if that is possible. I know there are some camp grounds in Winter Haven. There is also a large dude ranch with nice camping spots about 5 miles east of the range called River Ranch which is a full service resort.
