  1. Hello: Use a 13lb ISMI on a steel or tungsten guide rod. Or use a 12lb Wolff on a steel guide rod. These will both work with a lightened striker spring where a 11lb may not. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: I made a fixture to extend the rib on the Old Style SVI magazines. I have not tried it on a new one yet. Maybe this week. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: One thing to check is how free the striker moves inside the slide. I tried my new slide today and there was a burr inside near the breach face making the striker drag when installed and tested. I reamed it out and all is great now. This is on a Brownells RMR CO slide I just bought for a Glock 17. I still want to try a Zev setup but damn they are expensive. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: You need about 6 parts if I can remember correctly. It was very expensive at the time I checked even with me sourcing the big bearing. I just ended up selling my Super 1050 and buying another RL1050. I have had 5 RL1050's over the years that found good homes and are still running. Great machines and a great company to deal with. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: From the pics it looks like the RL1100 has the large bearing on the crank just like my RL1050 does. That will make it smoother than the Super 1050. That may also be why you can't load 30-06 on it like the old RL1050's. Good to see that they have gone back to the large bearing again. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: I don't see why it would be a problem at all. I plan on getting a Gen4 for my backup CO pistol and removing the finger grooves and a stipple job by me. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: A nice 2 1/4lb trigger works for me. It will last forever at that trigger pull and have a nice reset. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: I use a Case Pro and have been very happy with it for over 10 years. It is fast enough and does not take much effort to size the brass in 9mm and 40 for me. I have not installed an electric motor to it but have one that will work for it. The Rollsizer is quite loud from the one I have seen in person. Another cheaper option is a undersize die. I can load 9mm major brass 5-8 times then it is done. Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: I have Comp-Tac, Blade Tech and a Safariland with the USPSA mount. The USPSA mount makes all of these holsters faster. You can put it in any position because of the ball end mount. TGO has a video about it for his production rig. Once you practice with one of these holsters they are just as fast as a race holster. I have seen more than one person who can draw with an enclosed holster faster than most can with a race holster. The Boss mount needs shims to adjust the distance from your body and angle on the vertical plane, where the ball does this easily. I had a couple of DAA Racemasters and I am faster with my limited pistol with the Blade Tech. Not by much but the secure feeling in the holster when I draw is what I think it is. Pick one and practice. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: I use the one from Shooters Connection. It works great and the red ones are easy to find. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: Can you use an extended barrel for Carry Optics? I see you can use aftermarket barrels but I am wondering about a barrel that is threaded but just has a thread saver attached. Anyone know if it is legal? Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: I am using a Holosun 507C right now on a carry optics Glock 17. Not enough rounds down the pipe yet so I can't say how well it is holding up. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: The way I was raised was if you say you are going to do something you better well do it. With the internet it seems this is no longer true. A man of his word is no longer true it seems. Rant off. Thanks, Eric
  14. Charles, I have seen two different types of Zev strikers for the small frame Glocks. I use Wolff 4lb striker springs. Good to see you have the problem solved and you need to come out and shoot some CO with us next weekend. I am liking my Glock 17 CO setup alot. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: That is the site he has posted some of his stuff on. When he wakes up I will ask him to look. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: I will ask my son if he knows of any. That kid makes some pretty cool things with his 3D printer. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: He is using it for Steel Challenge, so the lighter it is the faster transitions to the next target. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: Plastic C-More with STI/Alchin mount is 5.369ozs. The Holosun with cover and base removed with mount is 5.422 ozs. These are actual weights measured by me without any whiskey involved. Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: You are correct there is usually a place to do a reload unless it is a 30 round hoser stage and you can start with 31. I find I am actually using 140mm mags more and more with longer base pads giving 24-27 rounds. I know some who have gone to all big sticks with thin base pads as well. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: Buy a used open pistol or I would redo the one you have and update it. With that budget you could get alot of reloading stuff and all the parts for the update and still have money left over. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: Another thing you can do is get one of your best local open shooters to shoot your pistol. He or she will tell you what they think of your pistol and loads. They may even let you try their pistol. This small thing may help you see what can be done with more time behind the pistol. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: Are you still running the weight on the front? May try removing it also. Are you running a comp or just an extension for the front sight? If it is a comp , yes you will need a lighter recoil spring. Try stock magazines also. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: I wouldn't worry how clean the powder is, I would worry how easy it is to clean and does it gum up the gun. Some powders are dirty but the gun keeps running. Other powders maybe cleaner but will stop the gun from running. You will have to test which powders work for you. Any of the powders around the Tite Group/N320 range will work fine. Slow powders may not work that well. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: I don't shoot 38 super or super comp. It is 30 rounds of 9mm. Thanks, Eric
  25. Hello: If the magazine spring is too strong and the recoil spring is too strong it can slow down the slide. That will give you feeding problems. The magazine spring also pushes up and causes the round to push out of the magazine before it can go under the extractor. A recoil spring that is too strong makes the gun under recoil short stroke not allowing the round enough time to get under the extractor. I am not sure on that barrel but it could be getting into a 3 point bind if the ramp is not correct. I use stock magazine springs in my 9mm extended base pads with no problem. Try the original barrel and see what it does as well as a stock factory magazine. Thanks, Eric
