  1. I'm on my 4th CZ and have been shooting CZ's on/off for about 20 years and I don't think you need to worry about problems. If you keep the gun lubed and clean the extractor on a regular basis, it just keeps running. I've never broken a slide stop (although I have a spare one, just in case) and I've broken 2 trigger springs so far. I've installed the solid trigger pin that Angus sells and if the trigger spring breaks, I'll replace it: I don't think you can predict it's faillure. On one pistol I've shot about 20k rounds and nothing broke and on my stainless 75B the trigger spring broke within 1k...... Here in Europe CZ's are very common (and cheap!) and at my gunclub we have several as 'club guns' for new shooters and slide stops don't break that often. They digest about 500 shots per week and last about 4-5 years and finally the slide will crack under the ejection port. If that happens we replace all the pistols and we don't have to worry for a few years ;-)

    Large grips

The rubber grips that CZ puts on the SP-01 are a tiny bit thicker, but make the pistol feel bigger in my hands.
  3. I have a Canik55 Dolphin and I quite like it. It's very well made and the mags are compatible with my CZ-75. Here a link to mine: http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=32707.0
  4. Here in The Netherlands they're all over the place. I once drove one and it drives a bit strange, but the scary part is when you're at the traffic light in front of a very large truck and you look over your shoulder ;-)
  5. I have owned a Expert in 9mm and in the end I didn't like it. The slide/sights sit higher in your hands than a CZ and what annoyed me mostly is that the way the trigger pivots felt strange to me. When I pulled the trigger I felt the trigger sliding under my finger. And lastly I like to shoot with my thumb on the safety and on the HK the lever sits too high so my thumb kept sliding off. It felt great in the gunshop, but I was dissapointed while actually shooting it. Now I shoot a stainless CZ-75B with competition sights and competition hammer and I shoot it so well that I sold my STI Edge ;-)

    SP-01 Sight Choices

You can use a TS front sight, which is 7.5mm high. If you use it with a CZcustom competition/carry rear sight, you need to shorter it by 1mm. I'm not handy enough with a file to cut it and make it look good, so I sure would like to see other front sight options.
  7. I get it now: indeed just like the FN High-Power
  8. Ok, this may sound silly: but what is a high power cut or more specifically, how does it look like?

    unbuntu

Try it by running it from a USB stick. If you download Universal Netbook Installer here: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ it's pretty easy to make a bootable usb-stick and try it without making permanent changes to your computer.

    Setting up a 75SA

I really like those grips: I guess I 'need' to have those ;-)
  11. I also like the weight and balance of the 'normal frame' guns, so I shoot a stainless 75B. But a Shadow with a short frame would be great, but I hope that CZUB is going to make these guns in the future (I guess not).
  12. Since you're living in Europe it shouldn't be to difficult to get a trigger fron an old scrapped CZ (at least I did). CDD-Ehrenreich in Germany sells CZ parts and charges 25 euro's for a trigger: http://www.asamnet.de/~ehrenred/ersatzt/brunb75.htm
  13. I think that the original trigger in my stainless gun is more or less the same than a recurve trigger and the trigger that I use now has the same shape as the old style trigger, but is somewhat thinner. But I don't know which model the trigger came from or how old it is. But if you look carefully at CZ's it seems that there are a lot triggers that all seem to be a bit different and some triggers take a lot of fitting in certain guns (my replacement trigger took some work, because it kept touching the frame so the trigger wouldn't reset fully (easily fixed with a Dremel though).
  14. I have an almost identical stainless as yours. I also have a Single Action 75. I have noticed that with the 75B, I occasionally get hammer bite that i do NOT get with the SA due to the change in beavertail. Do U have any problems with hammer bite?? thanks No, I don't have any hammerbite issues and my gun has the competition hammer, which I think is a bit shorter.
  15. I shoot a stainless 75B which had the new style thin curved trigger and I hated it! My gundealer was nice enough to give me a old style trigger from a scrapped 75 and this trigger I do really like.

    World Cup

Yes it did!I'm Dutch so maybe I should be proud that our National team reached the 2nd place, but it was an ugly game to watch and the Spanish team deserved to win.
  17. I have a stainless 75B with the competition hammer and after some polishing of the internals it has a very smooth trigger and I don't feel the FPB (in stock trim I do).
  18. My Shadow Target and 75B will shoot 115 and 124gn FMJ loaded out to 1.160 with no problem. But the bullet profile tends to differ between different brands, so you won't be able to load to the same length when you change your make of bullets. My stainless 75B can take Fiocchi FMJ's to a COL of 1.555, but with most makes I can only achieve 1.14 and with Frontier bullets I can't get past 1.12. I like to load long since my 9mm Edge likes long ammo and I like to be able to shoot my ammo in all my 9's.
  19. I've played with a lot of different springs in my Glocks and I go back to stock springs every time. Polishing the trigger bar on the point where it meets the connector (combined with a '-' connector)does a lot more for improving the trigger. I also played with titanium safety plungers and lighter trigger springs, but all it does is making my guns feel 'strange'
  20. Maybe it's better to compare the pricing with that of the Kadet kit or the Shadow. In that case it's priced at about 3.5 times the price of a Shadow, which makes me happy ;-)
  21. I have a stainless 75-B and I like the balance and light feel of the 'standard' models better than the SP-01 version: just see if you can try to shoot some different versions.
  22. I don't know if MKII mags will fit. The MKIII hammer has a machined slot for the mag disconnect and the spring (part 36 and 37 on the parts diagram), when you just remove these parts the hammer will wobble. If you replace your hammer with a MKII version and a MKII hammer bushing the mag-disconnect is gone and it's done in a few minutes without modifying any parts. I just looked at the Brownells website and it seems that the Mark II hammer bushings have been discontinued, but Clark also sells these bushings. Here it's explained with pictures! http://guntalk-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=634 Also usefull http://www.rugerforum.net/showthread.php?p=167289
  23. I have a MKIII 22/45 and if you remove the mag safety, the mags will drop free. Do do this I've installed a MarkII hammer and hammer bushing and replaced the parts, that's all.
