if reliability is a must (i.e. a carry gun), then get the gun and mags tuned!

+1. most people in Limited and Open divisions use STI/SVI frame based guns. some are factory guns, some factory+ tuning guns and some full custom guns. as far as 1911/2011s go STI/SVI are the best of the "straight from the factory" guns IMO. the next step up would be a semi custom and then full custom build. i guess alot the answer to your question depends on what you are using it for. USPSA/IPSC? what division? Carry? home defense?

By any chance did you get the "tune up" package that Dawson offers? if so i would argue the shipping charge. if it is a gun issue and not ammo or mag problem then the gun should have never been shipped out in the first place. Dawson Precision is a great company with excellent customer service. they have always paid my shipping fee when "defective" items needed to be sent back.

i have had great luck with the TacSol. the mags are very stout compared to others on the market. The back of the conversion kit ejector needed a bit of trimming due to the long ejector on my gun, but very easy fix. the best part is it feeds the bulk pack federal with no problems. Very nice people to deal with and great customer service!

i just tightened down the little arm (that catches it) in the most outward position so it and the ratchet never touch... so basically its now non-functional.

yes, exercise intolerance is a big problem with some betablockers. i used to be on one to control hypertension, but had to switch to and ACE inhibitor b/c everytime i worked out i fatigued very easily.

yep, it will steady your hand, lower heart rate etc...

if you want a small timer thats easy to use, you should take a look at the CED 7000. i have had one for about a year and been very happy with it.

i have had no problems with the DP magwell and the TacSol wide body mags.

The staff did an amazing job of keeping the coolers filled with ice water, but other than that you had to just deal with it.

please dont take this the wrong way, but is there anymore to this story? Was it just a disgruntled employee or did they say it was company policy? i worked at a target in omaha for a few years and i recall many times seeing military personal in uniform and there has never been an issue with it. Heck, my father has even been there in military uniform and no one said anything. i just cant even imagine how Target could treat our military with such disrespect. anymore info would be appreciated.

its such a great sport! i think the only way one can truly appreciate what phenomenal athletes those guys are is to have ever raced road bikes. "freaks of nature" doesnt even begin to describe what they can do.
