Hmmm maybe you could have tried a longer disconnecter first, to fix the out of battery issues. Changing the frame would be the last thing I would even want to do personally. BTW from my findings a .12 split is a fair while after the gun is back into battery. My STI was following and got splits of .07 best I can shoot is a .09 and that is not that common... only on real close stuff.

I agree with Doug C, in my experience (which isn't all that much) light loads a heavy gun and getting used to just letting the gun recoil and return helps a lot of shooters.

For some reason I found this really interesting... To me it seems your knowledge of your own skills, not just your skills should be what dictates how you shoot in a match. What shooting with others at competitions can give you is things to think about. That being said I think there is a tendency to lift when shooting with higher level shooters. Most of the time I decide what I'm going to do, shoot, and see what happens. LOL

I'm not sure if this is applicable to your situation but it seems the later STI mag releases are square on the bottom instead of beveled and as a result if you slam the mag in empty or simply hard enough then you will be hammering the mag release against the frame each time. I had problems with mags dropping out of my pistol while shooting and beveled the lower edge of the mag release where it engages the notch in the mag to resolve it. What I have noticed is the mags now hit the disconnector rail when I load them empty, this has resulted in some minor marks on the mags but it does not affect the function of the pistol. If I lock the slide back and push the mag in as far as it can go the mag release moves out slightly after it has engaged the notch as the bottom edge of the notch pushes on the bevel slightly. I would be happy to post a picture of the mag release if it will help at all. Might stop you ruining grips but no guarantee on the mags, although I I have shot my pistol like this for 18 months and had no problems.

OSX is actually built on unix so it had the advantages that come with an OS that was first done in 1970 I think... To put it all in perspective tho, there is so any lines of code in any operting system it's a surprise that they don't crash more often. If you think that a linux distro would have all the fuctionallity you need you should get a copy and check it out. That being said I would be surprised if you were having these problems with Windows XP, mem management is a hell of a lot better in XP than in previous versions of Winblows.

Two thumbs up and a high five for Duane's post I had a rant all written up but I would just get myself in trouble if I was to post it, have to respect others views you know. Asking which linux distro is like asking which religion, you will find many and varied replies, really depends on what you want to use it for...

I find that I can't get what I would consider an acceptable sight picture with two eyes open. I can see the sights okay but not with the clarity I would like, my dominant eye isn't that dominant. On this forum I have read varying opinions about the merits of both, I guess you have to find out for yourself if it works for you, I guess it's something that is really hard to measure..

I had this problem when I fitted the tri-glide components to my STI I reshaped the front of the trigger bow (squared it up slightly) to ensure that it could move forward enough to allow the half-cock notch to engage. Othewise the half cock notch would not engage and you get the problems described above.

I have a SDB but if you have the funds go for a 650. There is a world of difference between the two, case feeder, standard dies etc. Have a look on this site for a comparrison of the Dillon presses. And don't forget Benos sells dillon gear from this site too. =)

If you just lost the mbr use fdisk /mbr to put a standard win98 mbr back much easier than a full reinstall

If he has any data on his disk that he wants it can be more difficult. To erase the date on the HDD create a startup disk on your Win98 PC, boot his PC using it and run fdisk to remove all the partitions on the HDD. The WinXP partition will be unrecognised and flagged as non-dos just remove it anyway. You will be able to start from a clean slate after that. You can also copy the format.exe command to the Startup Disk and use it to format the drive. I'm not familiar with the E-machines stuff at all but you may need to format before booting from it If he has data I would look at adding his HDD to a WinXP machine to see if you can get the data off it he needs. If the partition on his disk has been updated it will be unreadable on a Win98 PC Best of luck...

Julien, don't the drilled holes affect accuracy? How did you finish them on the inside of the bbl?

I found the stock trigger and mag release on my P16-40 limited to be pretty average (both plastic) I could never shoot a decent group through the stock bbl either.

I changed my standard IPSC recoil spring because all we can shoot in Australia is minor as no calibre over .38 is allowed. Most people change the springs to suit the load they are using or to change the way the pistol feels under recoil.

If you shoot light loads use a softer primers like federals and it will reduce the problem.

The RSS feeds are also cool in Firefox ... But Opera is still a damn fine browser...

When you choose to grip hard the tendency to try and counteract recoil is greater and flinching, trigger freeze etc seem to follow. I try to use a fairly firm grip but still let the pistol recoil. What were the reasons behind the hard grip?

I have a "custom" FO front sight that has a cut that I can't fit ANY aftermarket sight into. It was .110 thou but looks a heap better at .100 with a recessed fibre =) Easy to see but can still get a good sight picture using the top of the sight for difficult shots...

All of the times I have seen people shoot a chrono it was because they were shooting at a the berm without really aiming at a target. Never seen one get shot when there was a target to aim at. Just my 2c

Standard zero at 50m, makes sure that I know it will hit where I aim it up to any distance... as the sights are so close to the bore there is very little change in impact from 10m to 50m.
