  1. Depending on where the holes were drilled on the frame, the C-more can definitely touch the slide. Another mount might be a waste of money. I would have the slide and comp milled a couple of thousands until no touching is visible. Having said that, I had an open that touched during recoil and never affected the C-more.
  2. Going from 10 to 10.3 should not give the same results.
  3. Since a Glock is not illegal--I can only surmise the Optic on it is illegal.. ????
  4. Shot my first CO match last night. RMR07 cut into the slide of Glock 34 Gen 4. I only had time to fire about 20 rounds before the match. I put a 13LB recoil spring in-- bad mistake.Had numerous failure to feeds. The recoil spring did not have enough force to feed every round. I put a Vanek production legal drop in (Not sure that was worth the money). I had shot the 20 rounds with the stock gen 4 recoil spring and had no FTF. I am going to return to the stock recoil spring. I actually liked the recoil impulse of the gen 4 spring. I was shootIng 147 FP that chrono'd at 128 at Nationals and ran 100% in my ACCUShadow. So ammo was not an issue. The bottom line....I think CO will be fun and challenging.
  5. The benefit of 141 mag size.....The extensions give me something to grab onto. The stock Glock mags are short and no base.per se.
  6. STI needs to hire some smiths. A 2 1/2 month wait -just ot look at...and may be another 2 - 3 months. UNACCEPTABLE They should look at it immediately and if the barrel is AFU....they should send you the next available new gun.
  7. Not everyone had a CO gun in the safe. It takes awhile to acquire the right equipment. Participation will increase as people get their guns.
  8. STI 40s DO NOT require some VERY special OAL. People try every OAL length and read the forums about "load long" and guess what ...the ammo won't run. The special OAL is what YOU try when you reload. If you try to load long....their will be problems until you find the correct OAL for the bullet you choose.
  9. Disclaimer. I do not work for STI. Any commercial manufacturer has to ensure their firearms are targeted at the general population. You are not going to get the finest trigger known to man from an off the shelf gun. Why you ask? The average competitior or shooter (remember STI sells to the public) is not a GM. Many shooters do not want a 1 LB trigger. There is an aftermarket trigger kit for just about any commercial firearm that we use in competition. Take Glock, even the GLOCK 34 (designed for competition shooting) has a crappy trigger. STI is really a small firearms manufacturer. I think STI has really stepped up with the DVC line. If you do your part reloading 40, your DVC is going to rock. I bet it runs factory ammo without a hitch. People tweak guns and mags and blame the gun when it won't run 100%. I have not shot a new DVC, but I shot many STI 40s. Again, they work if you do your part. I also own the CZ TS. You can't compare the two guns because they both work. It would be person preference as to which gun YOU like.
  10. If budget is not a consideration. Pick up the phone and call who? SVI and get a 38SC on order. Look at classifieds for a good used 38SC from a well known seller and start the practice. If money was no object-- 38SC is the only way to fly!
  11. Kinda like buying cheapest gas for your brand new Porsche. "Look! It still runs!!!" I like your analogy!
  12. Let us know how the X-treme 124s work with HS6. I really like X-tremes for minor. HS 6 is my powder for open, but I use MG or PD. Lately, more PD than MG since PD came out with the 124HP.
  13. I have tried, and have a small bottle of one shot in my range bag it does absolutely nothing, Is it possible that Solo 100 burns much hotter and melts lead ?? Are you guys shooting minor? Solo 1000 is definitely not an Open Major powder. I have not used 1000, but a lot of folks do for minor loads.
  14. The older series of slide mounted did not hold up. I had a Docter "bullet proofed" (which was expensive) and it did not stand up to being run on an open gun. The new generation like the RMR remains to be seen. I am having one mounted on a Glock for CO division. Time will tell. To your question...I would stay with a side mounted C-more for Open. They normally outlast the gun.
  15. If the MBX mags work as advertised (expecially without 9mm spacers) why would you want to try other internals. Just saying.... The price is right too. The only mags I know of that run 100% without spacers are the old style SV and you pay a small fortune for those in good shape. Having said, I have not tried MBX as I have the old style SV mags and they run 38/9 100% with Bevan's stuff.
  16. I concur with others who have said "too long". OAL 1.234 (easy to remember)
  17. Forget the longshot......Brandon recommends 3N38 in IMMs. I doubt 115 will make it with those holes (they are the LARGE holes yes?) 121 IFPs and 3N38 make a great load. If memory serves me right --9.8 grns to start. You will probably end up at 10. I use HS6 for 9 Major and put 9 grains behind a 115, but I have 5 popple holes (much smaller than yours).
  18. As long as the optic is recessed in the slide....your good. Mounting the optic in the dovetail sets it to high.
  19. Same size bullets used. I use Lee-U and never case gauge. They all work if OAL and crimp is correct.
  20. I think most of us would have liked the same list as Production also. Something new is fine.....I have no problem 15 or whatever the mag will hold. I'm just glad to see the CO Division and I'm neither for or against the 10 round limit.
  21. I don't agree with this for two reasons: 1. Who cares what gun/sights the M class shooter uses? they will "skew the results" regardless and I don't worry about them (not being M class myself). 2. I would like to be able to bring along a backup gun just in case my dot battery goes out (or any other substantial malfunction). My back up would be any qualifying gun I happened to own but would probably not have an optic. I don't see why that would be a problem. If the dot is an advantage then my backup gun would be at a disadvantage anyway. Eric Bring along a backup CO optic gun, just like I do in Open. Bring another optic. If I was shooting CO at an Area level match, I'd have a spare COgun and I bet most serious competitors would have backup guns also.
  22. I started around 55. It is the only sport that keeps me off the couch and in somewhat good shape. It also keeps the mind active. If your really putting forth an effort to improve and shot major matches, your constantly excercising the brain. I don't kid myself about winning....you will never beat the younger (move like rabbits) competitiors. It does get frustrating when my brain says expode out of that chair and the body says "ok, give me a minute". LOL.
  23. I had the same problem once. Added the Brasso while the brass was in the media. Now I use a different system. Wash em with a wet tumbler and steel. Looks like new brass.
