  1. Per Lee Greenwood: I'm proud to be an American~~~~~~~~
  2. Yes, I agree 7(closer to 8)K extra is a tough bullet to swallow and a lot depends on how long you plan to keep the vehicle. Eventually the deisel will pay for itself with fuel savings especially if you tow, which I do frequently. I know I mentioned resale value before but just check out the want ads, deisels with 150K and up still bring top dollar. One of my employees recently bought a used F-350 with 150k for what you could have bought a new basic gas truck. Hope you guys don't think I'm trying to do a gas vs deisel thread, just tossing ideas and my experiences out there, especially since the truck Eric mentioned is similar to what I traded in. Bottom line, be open to all options, Eric
  3. Don't know the answer to your damaged brass but pic number 2 looks like my brass after I run over it with the bush hog and a 6000 pound tractor...............
  4. One more note before you buy a gas powered truck. Buy or I will send you an issue of Deisel Power magazine and you will see kinda where deisel power is at. This is the first deisel I have owned but you can bet I'll never go back to gas. Bottom line, if you've never owned one, and are considering a new vehicle, at least drive one and you'll probably buy one.
  5. See my avatar. Traded in a 99 GMC 4x4 for this truck. Hiway mileage on the GMC 19-20 same as the diesel Ford. Tow a bicycle with GMC 12mpg, with the Ford deisel tow a town and still get 17-18mpg. After some minor performance upgrades the new deisel would get up to 24mpg. After the lift kit and numerous add-on's will still get 19.5mpg on the hiway, and we're talking over 7500lbs. Deisels will tow anything, gas not so. Deisels are easy to hop-up with simple performance upgrades. With everything set on max mine should make well over 500hp and 800ft-lbs of torque. Deisels last forever, most take a long time to break in well. Resale is much higher. Deisels, whether, Ford,GM, or Dodge are a far better investment...... Just my lowly opinions........
  6. Actual words to describe not allowed on this forum!!!!!
  7. After reading Steve Anderson's book I finally subjected myself to dryfire practice. Albeit only 20 minutes a day, the improvement is radical. One suggestion though, keep changing things and experiment, focus on your weaker(less fun to practice) areas. I've been working hard on a weak/strong hand dryfire routine of my own that has greatly improved my live fire results.
  8. Great posts for handling match pressure. From my limited experience, once the buzzer goes off there is no match pressure, just shooting like you know how. How does one move that postbuzzer calmness to prebuzzer time? I have tried several of the ideas mentioned here and will continue to try more. I assume there are different things that work for different people? Are M and GM shooters as calm as they appear before a stage? Or is it just a confidence factor? Or perhaps they have found the calming answer, maybe mentioned in this post? Sorry for some duplication, I just am unclear of the best way for ME to handle match pressure..........
  9. On the Brazos web sight under magazine articles, he describes how to modify slide stops. If you go this route follow ALL directions.............I sorta skipped one and wasted a perfectly good slide stop.......
  10. Congrats, Michael, another job well done!!!!
  11. Now that's funny You should've asked her why she just didn't use the back door... I digress.... I noticed from the first post it mentioned "priority boxes"). Maybe that was just a typo but priority boxes and flat rate priority boxes have different shipping rates. If that's not the case tell them to re-deliver or you'll file a complaint. Good luck, Gary Back door has inside chain lock....She's a good sport though!
  12. POWDER/POWDER/POWDER/POWDER................THE most important ingredient, Too much or too little can lead to disastrous results. Cases visually checked although I have ejected more than one cracked case with no ill effects. No primer, no boom, no damage. No matter the machine visually verify powder charge and be safe!
  13. +1 for Montana bullets.......Is it my imagination or are thay super hard and don't hang on feed ramps? Hence feed exceptionally well. Heck if I drop one on concrete it doesn't even dent
  14. Your stage this year is much sweeter than last year, sending in app tomorrow....... All the stages present a challenge, but doesn't everybody have to shoot the same COF's?
  15. Will both the classifer scores be sent to USPSA or is this a case of preventing sandbagging? Can't wait to get to cooler weather, 100+ every day here in Georgia is certainly affecting my practice and my freakin good attitude.........
  16. Sorry for your predicament, , sounds like BS to me, but on a lighter(?) note. My postman put my bullet order in front of our front glass screen door and when my wife, who has arthritis, arrived home didn't have have the strength to move them to allow her to get in the house. She eventually sat on the ground and pushed the boxes out of the way with her legs so she could open the front door. She apparently didn't find that near as funny as I did.
  17. Yes and the low target, disappearing target, and the long popper to finish........I remember, loved that stage
  18. You didn't use the 2.5 rule. Take the time, multiply it by 2.5 and that's when it will really be ready. This applies in many service businesses.
  19. Reshoot, RO deserves the penalty. That statement said with love, we ALL make mistakes. Reshoot
  20. If it's a new shooter and I gave him/her a safety briefing it would have included a rundown on their equipment and the division they were shooting. At that point I could have found some loaner mags for the shooter to use. I have seen on more than one occasion a new shooter show up with only 2-3 mags to fire a 30+ round cof. Barring all that, first time shooter at a weekly match, let them shoot. Please don't tell me you worried about being beat???
  21. I have a Hornady Apex press and I do NOT like it, plastic pieces break and it is very finicky. Maybe I am just spoiled with my 25 year Dillon 550 that keeps on ticking!
  22. Awrsome time I can't do that even in dryfire making poof-poof sounds
  23. Last thought: Glad everyone has ear protection so they didn't hear that.....
