  1. Dawsons are easier to remove and install. Makes for faster cleaning when shooting a match, whcih is a must here in Georgia, where we drop mags in sand quite a bit. Grams provide a little more room for bullets, but not really reloadable with 20 rounds either. Either basepad will hold 20 rounds to start + 1 in the hole. My Dawsons have held up nicely with considerable abuse. Still your choice!

  3. I want some of that visual patience stuff. been my nemisis for the last few months. For me it's always the second shot on a target where I need to get really moving or transitions. I have learned the hard way you cannot outrun mikes. Understanding visual patience and executing are different animals. The prerun visualization is a new concept for me, I have never incorporated that with my stage plan. I feel that's the answer...........Thanks, Brian
  4. As an avid hunter, I will say that 2 years of IPSC shooting has given me exceptionally smooth trigger control when it comes to rifle shooting. Virtually every shot is a surprise. Sighted in my Thompson muzzleoader the other day and was able to shoot 1.75 inch 3 shot groups. Has anybody else ever noticed this phenomenom? Wish I had some watermelons, shooting the 338 Ultra mag Wednesday along with several other files.
  5. A 230 grain bullet with the same COL will use more case volume, thereby increasing pressure, hence velocity.

  8. Lots of possibilities here. First question:Has anything been changed? If so undo change or changes. If the bullet is nosediving into the ramp it's probably the magazine or mag spring. Make sure your ramp has been polished the Enos way - see other threads. Make sure the chamber is nice and clean, it too should also be polished. Chamber check your ammo, does it drop in free?
  9. Assuming this is a bushing barrel push guide rod forward and locate some type of detent to put the recoil spring under pressure allowing it to be removed from the rear of the slide. Normally there is a small hole about 1/2 way up the recoil rod and a paper clip with a short 90 degree bend will hold the tension. Noemally it is easier with the gun assembled. You can simply hold the slide back and locate hole or detent. May be something different but the theory is still the same. Hope this helps.

  11. The trigger job will help you see the sight lift on longer shots with disturbing the sight picture. Light triggers have drawbacks and they definately take getting used to. You will develop superb trigger finger control when not shooting or you will get sent home without a towel.

  13. Oh oh - two squibs. I use the numbers myself 1,2...3,4...5,6...7,8...9,10...reload...1,2...etc Think about this. Instead of 1,2...3,4...5,6 If you have 3 targets in an array, 123456 If you have 2 targets then 3 targets, 1234...5678910.. and so on. It may help not program a pause in your shooting Key word here is think, making noise during a walk through can be distracting to other shooters. By the way that is one badass squirrel!!
  14. With a relatively light trigger ie:sub 2.5 lbs the tension on the sear finger is likely to be causing your problem. Either add tension or replace, but either way you will likely add a couple of ounces to your trigger pull. My trigger is set at 1lb 13oz and the sear spring tension is very critical. Either way this is a simple repair/test that can be done in minutes.

  18. First and foremost, I would like to wish John Force a speedy recovery! As an ex drag racer, I have had the opportunity to meet John and he is truly a super nice person with the patience to match. As far as the frame break is concerned, my guess is when the the tire blew it twisted the frame and either broke or cracked. As far as I know John does not run a "slip-tube" chassis like many of the topfuelers and some of the funny car camp. He runs a ridgid frame setup, key word ridgid. The frame will break given enough twist, the chutes just finished it of. Of course all this is speculation. Good news though he is alive and will be back, John is truly a great champion!
  19. Pretty used to my CR but yes you have a point. The wedgie rec'd drawing from a locked holster usually has to be corrected in private!
  20. Congrats on the B card, that rigorous practice routine paid off! Personally, I think that points thing is overated, Speed is where it's at!
  21. Am I just kidding myself that the new longer slide, better trigger and heavier gun will really help me with those longer shots. Never let equipment hold you back! Buy the very best you can, and the Indian will be very happy indeed!
