  1. I have been using the Mini Mag 40gr in my 10/22 with good results. In my MKIV I have had great luck with... gasp... Aguila SE. It works 100 percent of the time for me in the MKIV, but not the 10/22.
  2. I saw this happen with a CED timer last weekend. It failed to pick up a shooter in my squad 3 strings in a row. There wasn't a comp on that rifle.
  3. Chattanooga Shooting Supplies. They had them in their eShow.
  4. You know, I am not sure on the slide stop. It will be a 9mm when the parts arrive though.
  5. It is happening once the mag is empty. Rustychev, that sounds exactly like what is happening, and makes sense. I will try a different slide stop and see if it helps.
  6. I have a Caspian framed 9mm 1911 that is having an odd problem. You can load empty or full mags in the pistol and the mag release will drop them normally. After you fire the loaded mag it will be stuck, and won't drop when you hit the mag release. This is not an issue of the mag not dropping free, this is an issue of the mag being stuck. I haven't figured out exactly what makes the mag finally release, but after working with it a bit the mag finally will release. These are Wilson Combat mags. I have heard of mags binding before, but I am not thinking this is the case. It almost seems mechanical, but why does it not do it until after being fired? I am at a loss on this one.
  7. One thing that comes to mind is that you might develop the habit of not hearing a missed plate that needs to be made up before the stop plate. It might also make you start looking for visible hits when you don't need to instead of moving to the next plate as soon as you break a shot.
  8. I saw them available to dealers today from a distributor. The prices look to be about like their Glock mags. I will have a couple when they ship and will report back on how they function.
  9. I have used the Magpuls in my Production gun with no problems.
  10. Dillon has the new parts on the way to me. I will update if the new arm and spring don't fix things.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have a spare arm or spring, but I think I can get one locally. It is definitely at an angle now, so that sounds like it may be the issue.
  12. I took the entire priming assembly apart and cleaned and lubed it. I also took the primer eater out and cleaned it. Same thing with the shell plate. It is almost like the index arm is not moving in the correct plane and binding the spring. It makes me wonder if something may have bent when it suddenly tightened up and it is causing the index arm to not move properly.
  13. I was running a batch of 9mm on my 650XL tonight and on the downstroke it suddenly felt like the whole press tightened up. After doing a few shorter strokes, things loosened up, but the primers stopped feeding. I took the primer assembly apart and cleaned and lubed it, but it didn't correct the issue. Now it appears that the disc is indexing about half of the correct amount now, as it is properly indexed on every second stroke. It almost seems like the indexing arm isn't grabbing the disc in the right position. Does this sound like a quick fix, or does it sound like I need parts?
  14. If you have plans to shoot steel the 4moa dot might not be the best option. Many shooters will tell you that the larger dots are easier to pick up. My only other advice is to keep some extra batteries in your shooting bag.
  15. The trigger in mine is pretty good. I am in no hurry to change anything on it.
  16. I just picked mine up today and got back from the range. If I had a holster that would fit it I would leave my G34 at home tomorrow. This thing shoots flat.
  17. It will be interesting to see if the X-Five Legion gets used much in the production division. Its base weight without the magwell is almost 16oz over the G34. That has to do something to soften recoil.
  18. I think there may be other factors involved as well. For example, SS has a max weight of 43 ounces, where limited has no weight restriction. Also the holster position limitation is not present in Limited. I think these things also account for some of the difference.
  19. I agree with this. This is why I am working with my son to get ready for Steel Challenge first. The lack of movement in stages, no moving mag changes, and overall more simple operations make this seem like a good place for him to build his skills.
  20. It is possible it is happening in the crimp station as well. Can you tell where the the shavings are falling on the press? I use Blue Bullets, and teh only time I have had shavings is when I don't get the bullte lined up well going into the seating station with all other stations properly adjusted.
  21. Do sll the bullets have the same diameter, i.e. .355, .356,? etc? It sounds like you might need to bell the case a bit more, or possibly the bullet seater does not have a seating stem that fits the profile of the bullets. Can you see where the coating is missing on the bullet?
  22. I have been working on a 22/45 for steel, and with the Volquartsen kit and Tandemkross Victory trigger mine breaks at 2 pounds. It feels pretty comfortable to me.
  23. As has been said, plunk them in your barrel and see if you are having an OAL issue. If that doesn't fix it give the Lee U die a try. I have not had a single round not plunk since switching to the U die.
  24. How would you go about consolidating the peak times in this division? For example, there is an 8 second difference between peak times in SS and Limited with all stages combined. It seems that someone who shoots low C in SS would be at a pretty big disadvantage to someone who shoots high C in Limited. I know that there is probably not much difference with those shooters in M or GM, but to the everyday shooter who is just average it seems like it could hurt.
  25. I use Bladetech, but the RHT look nice as well. You probably won't go wrong with either.
