What's even worse is when the junk makes it all the way through the loader and into the ammo box. I had a round bring a stage to a screeching halt in my PCC. It didn't fire, and wouldn't extract either.
  2. I have a Kidd single stage on my X-Ring and it runs great.
  3. I enjoy having friends in my squad. I am not sure that it really impacts my shooting, but it may help a bit with the first stage jitters.
  4. Smae as the rest, I called and they had my code right away. I wonder if it isn't just another step to filter out the folks who don't follow up?
  5. I would have to question whether they also won't allow RFRO, RFRI, RFPO, and RFPI since they also are bagged and unbagged. The only complaint I have heard about PCC is that they can be hard on the targets with full power ammo. One place I shoot rotates the target faces between matches to keep them from becoming concave.
  6. Do you think it might have gone bang due to being slightly out of battery due to an excessive OAL? That probably would allow things to cycle and pick up the next round.
  7. I think that is probably what happened with him. He was most likely more cognizant of his movement with the boat anchor on his leg.
  8. I was squadded with a guy who had his foot in a boot and decided to move instead of take the penalty. He set his personal best on OL that day.
  9. Good advice on the weight. A steel frame 1911 gets there pretty quick.
  10. I wonder if the numbers seem low because of so many shooters at tier one matches not being members of SCSA? I knkw at my local matches we have many non-members that shoot matches, so I assume their scores go unposted. Several of them are B or higher in their scores..
  11. Thanks. I have got to have a set of those.
  12. Who makes these base pads? I really like them.
  13. What bullet are you shooting? Profile plays a huge part in what will and won't plunk. For example, in my X5, a Berry's 147 fp has to be seated to 1.08 to plunk, but a Berry's 147 rn will plunk at 1.15.
  14. I had this happen with the 17 round mags that came with my Legion. My only solution was to download a round. Standard X5 21 round mags didn't cause the issue. I assume that I am just going to have to get the springs broken in.
  15. I had the same issue. I was interested to see what the mount looked like.
  16. Do you think you are faster with the 6 inch in RFPI due to the increased sight radius? Have you tried it with a dot?
  17. I use the blue, which I think is the same as the Guntite. My introduction to red was when I was working on race cars. I was also introduced to torches at that time to undo a mistake with red.
  18. Since Sig has set the MAP price at $599, I suspect it will take slow sales before they lower the price.
  19. When I went off the deep end in precision rifle loading this was something I encountered even with the same headstamp on brass. I could tell how much effort it took to seat the bullet because I was using a hydraulic press to seat the bullets and it displayed seating pressure on each round. There were things that could be done to normalize the pressure, but it certainly would not be practical for the volume of ammo we consume on our pistol sports.
  20. I just picked one up to see if I wanted to play the PCC game. I shot a mixed bag of ammo through it without any issues. It seems very accurate and was not expensive. It does have the PCC chamber, which I assume is standard in their rifles, and it easily chambered 147gr at 1.14 OAL. I tried Glock brand mags as well as Magpul and ETS with all of them functioning perfectly. The only thing I changed was the trigger, which I replaced with a POF flat blade trigger. Time will tell if it remains this reliable, but I am anxious to shoot it in a match now.
  21. So, I see the benefit now of dropping a couple at a time in the Hundo, but will it catch an OAL that would cause the round not to plunk, or is it just built around a SAAMI spec? For example, I have to load Berry's 147 flat point pretty short to get them to plunk, but I am sure the case would gauge fine. I am just wondering if you just have to trust your OAL (which I am sure we have had change mysteriously at one time or another while loading) or are you measuring every round for OAL and gaugung them? It seems that both are checked when plunking.
  22. Not trying to sound smart, but how is dropping 100 of them in the Hundo much faster than plunking them? It just seems like the same amount of motion to me.
