  1. I agree with open just being consistent. Production is definitely growing. Here's a snapshot of one of our clubs numbers(Open and Prod) between 08-09:
  2. Double Tap's .38 supercomp/ .38 TJ-eyed monster--errr, I meant, snowman...

  4. Sean, I personally, one is as important as the other. Sort of yin/yang that produces harmony, balance, peace and flower power. Seriously, I think it's part of competing in any sport, even in business. Striving to win is a natural animal/human instinct and is the basis of self-preservation. Losing[not wining] drives improvement in sports/business. One of our geneticists here where i work puts it this way. We as a species, are on the top of the animal kingdom because we adapted to the challenges we faced for thousands of years. Winning still motivates me most but the challenges of improving myself from not winning can be as important too. Edwin
  5. Dave, How many ports did you end up with ? Edwin
  6. check your firing pin spring length, too. it may be short.
  7. I wish I could be as eloquent as you. Well said. You hit the head on the nail, err.. whatever.
  8. C-More Glare shields are quite important when the rays of the sun hits your lscope at a certain angle. Without it, the beam seems to disperse once it hit the lens, hence the glare. I believe it's worth, put one on and never look back. Limcat is $20ish and Arredondo is $17ish. Both will do the job. One local shooter uses a cut-out of a brown USPSA tape as a hood over the module and it stays there during the match. It does the same thing but it looks funky though. Hope this helps! E
  9. That's pretty smooth for SS reload. +1 on finding the shavings from somewhere else.
  10. BigTinVA, I like both of them(CMJ and JHP MGB). When I was still loading 9 Major, both of them worked fine and met length requirements. I would suggest borrowing 100-200 pieces of each, load 'em up and shoot it. If it cycles reliably and your (guns's) accuracy is acceptable, choose accordingly. Good luck! Edwin
  11. I run it on all of my macs (3) and it works just fine. I only use it for programs that cannot run in mac os. Otherwise, I stick with mac apps. Pros:No reboot necessary. Click the Parallels apps and it opens a 'Windows' window. Cons: I noticed it's not as fast as a dedicated Windows machine. I don't think its my hardware[Mac OSX.5 Quad Core, 8 GB RAM], but others might disagree... Hope this helps.
  12. Lee, Nick has always been an outstanding shooter. I take it he got it from his dad! Congratulations on both of you and I always look forward shooting with both of you. When do you get your GM card??? Edwin
  13. Here's an information i copied from Will's Website: "Barrels will have the following groove and land diameters. For optimum accuracy, lead bullets should be 0.002 or 0.003 inch larger than groove diameter; copper jacketed bullets should be 0.001 or 0.002 inch larger than groove diameter. .355 caliber: groove diameter = 0.3550 inch, land diameter = 0.3460 inch. .400 caliber: groove diameter = 0.4000 inch, land diameter = 0.3910 inch. .450 caliber: groove diameter = 0.4500 inch, land diameter = 0.4420 inch." However, anecdotally, a local shooter experienced tumbling in his SightTracker using plated bullets. He switched to JHP and problem went away. Good Luck!
  14. The aluminum/metal grip will most likely not shrink as much as the polymer grips at sub-zero temp.
  15. Nice pictures, Derrick. Looking forward to see your next expedition.
  16. I missed this one but also worth noting the flame coming out of Sloan's XD:
  17. great pic sloan with that pink gun. it is cool u can see the fire in the barrel. Thanks! I've set-up my DSLR on a tripod with a remote 'detonator'. It worked out pretty good. I must admit, It's set-up in somewhat proximity of the targets and that made me a little bit worried... Alex C. aiming at my Nikon: But then, it's well worth the risk! Here's the link to the rest of them: link Edwin
  18. More photos... Don G. shooting a 'real' open gun: Doc Adelo with the winning shot: Bernie's weak hand technique:
