  1. Is he planning/thinking of going to Greece(World Shoot) next year?
  2. Could you explain that in detail-the spitting brass? I'm not sure I understand or experienced it in my gun. As for 32 inch twist, you are right about it. It's traditionally better than 16 inch twist. Mr. Schuemann did say 24 inch twist as the optimum twist. Mr. Schuemann explained it in this doc: http://www.schuemann.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=N0S0LsAu1RQ%3d&tabid=67&mid=445 Personally, I don't think I can shoot as good as my barrel. Give me 32 or 24 inch twist and I'll try to shoot it as accurate as I can.
  3. Get the AET (1/24 twist). With good bullets it will be more accurate. They don't tolerate plated or junk bullets very well, but that's about the only downside. Where did you look to check if they were in stock? I know you can get them from Chuck at SC, Brownells, Schuemann's website, and several others. If they don't have the version you want in stock, Mike can probably crank one out for you very quickly. R, +1. AET barrels are surprisingly accurate. In my experience shooting 124 gr MGB, it groups better side-by-side against non AET barrels.
  4. Great minds think alike. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Olympus E-520 (10mp). I use a wireless remote for the down-range stuff. Apparently someone else was using a down-range camera that got blasted with a bullet, not sure whose it was... I hope it's not a 1D Mk IV or a D3S/X. Nice composition on your photos. Thanks for sharing your photos! Edwin
  6. BritinUSA, what's your camera setup? Are you using a remote shutter?
  7. I use Armscor for 'mud matches', as Alamoshooter said. The reason for me is its premature rate of primer pocket expansion. And no, I don't load to 180 PF.(I'm, usually between 169-173). After 2-3 reloads, I've noticed primers are sticking out of the pocket. In a hundred rounds of loaded ammo, the average I see with this issue is about 5. e
  8. We've reached the 40 shooter mark. Just a friendly reminder, we're using an online pre-registration to speed up sign-up on match day. I know a lot of you are itching to shoot 300 rounds! Edwin
  9. Any news from LV? The other thread (WS suggestions) seem to be more popular as of the moment, consider this a BTT.
  10. So, in light of your brilliant assessment, what do you suggest USPSA do to improve our chances in winning Open and Production in the next World Shoot?
  11. Wow, I'm stuck in a series of meetings this morning. I need a tweet or a push notification. Is ESPN covering this! (Big sigh)
  12. Perhaps you are right. I was basing my calculations from the overall match points. JJ = 1262.9100 pts. Chris = 1227.9300 pts. Max Jr = 1222.8000 pts. KC = 1202.6800 pts. It also looks like KC still has 4 more stages vs 3 stages for JJ, Chris, Max et al. squad. But I'm here in Houston and really don't know what's going on. Just like you said, we'll have to wait and see! E
  13. I agree. IMR 7625 has a better chance of making major and not overspill off the case. There's a recent post that someone (forget who, now) wrote that their "new pet powder in a 5.4" barrel is IMR 4756" 8.1 grains with a 124 grain bullet made major but the case was full? I think it's possible but can be messy. I load 8.4 grains in .38SC and still have some more wiggle room left. Might be pushing it in 9mm, but not entirely impossible. I'd be interested how many are doing this.
  14. Wow, 35 points separating JJ and Chris T. Max is Not far behind either. 406 available points to go. And a whole bunch of GMs just waiting for a breakthrough on the leaders. This looks like another tight Nationals! Can't wait til BritinUSA gives us another update...
  15. Not quite. PowderValley still has some primers listed as Out Of Stock. It did ease a bit but I think there is still high demand(as opposed to low supply, touche). It's always best practice to get your 1 yr supply just in case it gets worse next shooting season.
  16. I agree. IMR 7625 has a better chance of making major and not overspill off the case.
  17. I've talked to Jojo Vidanes (probably one if not the one of the top 9mm Major shooter) a couple of years ago. He said if your gun and ammo are set-up right, you won't see barrel-wear related accuracy problems after 70K-100K. The rest of the gun will mainly require regular maintenance, of course. He let me shoot his gun at 40 yds and that thing hit the target dead on, he said the gun was about 70K-80K. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Years ago, we were loading up to 180-ish PF to meet and/or exceed the old 175 PF. I owned a could of open guns back then and they were fine. One other thing you may notice is that a 160 PF will have a different timing compare to a 165 or higher PF, and that kinda defeats the purpose of practice. Grauffel told me he practices 130 gr but shoots 125 gr at matches, but same PF. Just a thought. Hope this helps E
  18. Glad you can make it. And yes, loading lots a ammo can be a good thing too.
  19. Don't think so. What happens in Vegas stays in....
  20. Folks, Here's the link to the pre-registration form to get a slot. You should get a confirmation email once you send it. Otherwise, PM me if there are issues. See you all there! Edwin
  21. Only for this year though right? That's correct. Thanks, Brian for correcting that. See you there!
  22. +1 on what Cha-lee said. Spot on.
  23. I spoke with the MD (Alex C) about the round count and even tried to convince him to lower it down some. He's pretty determined to do it. I understand his point though. He just wants to do it and have fun. I and several shooters are trying to help him out, spread out the word 2-3 weeks before the match. We're even setting up an online pre-registration. It will be the last match for the said club and we just want to make it fun and memorable, whatever we learn from this match we'll certainly share amongst everyone interested. So, if you are in or near Houston, please come and bring atleast 300 rounds and shoot with us at impact zone on the 24th(shameless plug, sorry just couldn't help it). Edwin Edited for poor spelling...
