  1. As an owner of an Akai single stack... I agree - since the division has such low participation, why not lower the barriers a little? But the flip side of it is, does it need to be changed at all, with participation so low? Haha. Personally I think the current weight and dimension limits are fine, and they should just do away with the bushing and slide restrictions.
  2. As far as I can tell there's no reason you can't have a 12 round course with more than 2 positions, you just can't call it a short course in the WSB. The distinction in the rules in USPSA is rather meaningless in my opinion.
  3. I already hate being the guy who has to tell the guy with a magwell and a dot on their glock they're in open, or that they can't shoot with a pistol brace. What you've just described is nightmare inducing!
  4. Have to agree with you there But - if it wasn't a full diameter hit on the barrel, going by what the barrel is supposed to look like prior to being hit, then it counts for score. Now as an RO if I simply cannot determine full diameter or not, and thus an accurate score, I would probably issue a reshoot.
  5. If I am one of those 12 competitors, I'd be interested in the outcome (if I am even interested in outcome at all). If I am one 1 of 100 competitors shooting RFPI, why would I care about revolver? They do their thing, I do mine.
  6. It's on whoever does stats, typically the match director. What's the issue?
  7. I always wait for them to stop fiddling with gun and holster, which usually means they've locked it. I want them to be entirely clear of the gun and holster
  8. Alabama Sectional Registration https://practiscore.com/2022-alabama-sectional/register
  9. Look at rule 6.4, referenced in Appendix 1. Specifically, 6.4.1.1 - if you're on the ineligible roster, you can't shoot. However: With all the rest of the changes I did miss this part. There needs to be (probably is and I am unaware of it) a way to terminate your membership without falling into this trap. Otherwise, someone could decide they no longer want to shoot level 2+ events and only shoot local matches, but end up being deemed ineligible if they don't go through the proper process to terminate membership.
  10. I shot this at low cap nationals in Single Stack, and shot 94.9% on it then according to my classifier record. I shot it yesterday at a club match and shot 94.8%. At least I am consistent I guess?
  11. In line with the proposed change to equipment rule changes, I think all rule changes that aren't grammatical, clarifications, rulings, or correcting errors should follow the same process. For example, if they wanted to increase or decrease penalty points value (extremely unlikely, clearly), that should go through same process if they wanted to change holster rules for a particular division. Something like a misspelling or editing a passage to be more obvious doesn't need the same process - just a notice that they are doing it and an effective date.
  12. Looks like the L shaped wall(s) at the front are too close to the shooting area. If it was intended to be the classifier it shouldn't be uploaded, because that is not how it's intended to be run.
  13. Right before "don't tap the glass, it annoys them"
  14. That, and it allows instructors to tailor their class to the class's needs. In my class, we had a lot of discussion on scoring calls (I forget why). Another class held nearby (albeit a different RMI) had a heavy discussion on stage design and rules regarding along those lines.
  15. As I said in my post, I was referring to the magazine having more than 10 rounds in it, not its location...
  16. What Sarge said is the simplest way to remember it. I just want to add: if you forget your barney mag (the one with 11) in your back pocket or elsewhere, that's a bump to open. Even if you never use that mag during the course of fire.
  17. If you are so concerned about it, just don't shoot it. Then it won't be your problem. It's been made clear in this thread by people in the shooting scene that it is a non-issue, and if you are still wringing your hands, then this is not the event for you.
  18. You're welcome! I really like sketchup, it's very powerful. You get the same ability as the 3d kits, but you have the power to copy and paste similar layouts and to edit past designs far more easily. I strongly recommend having two windows open - one to the prop file, the other to your active stage, and copy and paste assets into the stage. My bay templates are marked as read only for me in my system so that I can just save a new copy for each stage.
  19. @NETim here's a link to my prop file and a bay template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1awnyCgUuiX9OPjr-7Dix1ttK-We2Mdcg/view?usp=sharing I used this video playlist from a friend of mine to learn sketchup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly67aFXmVLU&list=PLko75SypZnbHlOAYzu6y9pCD3UQeEv5T5
  20. What I've heard said is "I am not in the business of measuring 179 vs 181" or something to that effect. My eyes aren't protractors, I can't call 180 unless I am damned sure. Is 181 a DQable offense? Absolutely, if I can be 100% certain. If I can't? Then I am not going to say anything. If it's a local match I might pull the shooter aside and let them know it looked close, so they can be aware.
  21. They'd only be competing against each other, why would you mess with their scoring?
  22. https://nroi.org/news-announcements/new-popper-calibration-procedure/ It's obviously imperfect, but seems to be a step in the right direction. So basically, it will be shot a second time if it falls with the first calibration hit (and was not hit in the wrong spot). And it reiterates that RO's should check for REF before calling for calibration.
  23. My opinion: no more equipment rule changes for the next 3 years. I'd love to extend that to all rule changes, but there are some things that could be good changes (popper calibration, in the opinion of some, for example). Revolver needs to stay, if we are going to continue to have revolvers in the sport. Revolvers are simply too different from any other gun in the sport to be combined with any other division. L10/SS - if we were going to get rid of one, get rid of single stack and fold it into L10. That way the largest number of guns are covered. IMO L10 only exists to make sure that Low Cap nationals fills up (these days).
