  1. I'll check my first one again over the next 2-300 rds. May also just get one of the Iron City ones to be extra sure.
  2. Just a guess, but it sounds like the disco needs some fitting so the timing is more on-track in terms of how 'soon' or later it pulls the hammer back and allows the half-cock notch to clear the sear.
  3. I have spares yeah, I figured that even if far down the line, it's just a matter of time.
  4. I've run a Wilson Combat 'Bullet Proof' AR9 pin with Hiperfire triggers over about 2500 rounds now with no identifiable wear/mushrooming. So far so good.
  5. I could see that. I just have one on my home defense carbine, so like the 510C it has a good auto-on feature and no real worry about it being washed out. All my other dots have to be cranked up when used on sunny days, especially the C-Mores. Having an attachable Guga Ribas hood for the window helps.
  6. Yeah that looks cool, but again, I like the C-mores with big dots on my competition PCC's, and on a home-defense gun, the Romeo3 is essentially giving me what I'd look to get from the 507 anyway. I have a couple of Holosun microdots as well like the 503/403, and those work just fine on small grab-and-go AR's/PCC's.
  7. I shoot with a GM-class at one of my local matches, and he shoots open. Only way can even imagine shooting faster than him with a PCC would to at first be a GM with the PCC. And even then, on those tighter stages I have to believe that the more compact setup has the advantage.
  8. I had one but it was a bit too big and bulky for my needs, and I preferred a bigger dot since I didn't use the larger circle. On a defensive AR I think it's nice and really quick to acquire, but for me something like the Sig Romeo3 serves the same purpose, and I like my C-Mores on my competition PCC's. But in terms of build quality and usability (and price), I have nothing bad to say about the 510C.
  9. Shot about 100 rds earlier tonight sighting in a dot. Really didn't notice much difference in recoil or even for dot movement compared to my MBX 14.5" with brake. Even doubles were pretty much the same, although I'm no speed demon. Big difference is obviously weight and swinging much faster (and louder). Very cool, looking forward to steel.
  10. Cool. I have some foaming bore cleaner so I'l just be sure to swab out the tube with it every time I clean.
  11. Again, a necropost....but I pretty much exclusively shoot Blazer Brass out of my PCC's, which (IIRC) has a fully-plated bullet, including the base. I know that in my pistols I don't seem to get any lead buildup, just normal fouling which is cleaned out pretty easily. Should this bullet also help avoid buildup in the ULW shroud? This rig swings really fast with so little weight forward of the receiver. Really looking forward to shooting steel/plates with it.
  12. I've had both Shadow 1 & 2 and prefer the Shadow 1/SP01 platform more. So it has been my go-to for IDPA/SSP and USPSA/production. It was a pretty natural choice for carry optics and I got an extra Shadow slide milled for a Vortex. Makes it a simple swap. I agree with others in that I found a gun that I was.most comfortable with first with iron sights (tried other optics guns and didn't like), then translated it to optics, went well.
  13. You should fire Federal Syntech out of it. Seems only fitting.
  14. So ressurecting this thread because I'm looking into getting one, but is there a general rule of thumb with buffer change with an ULW barrel? Should one look to go with a heavier or lighter buffer than what was with a longer barrel? Thx.
  15. Nice thing about the CZUB mag well on an SP01 is that to me you don't feel it as much as on wider-framed guns like the Tac Sport, especially if you go with medium-thickness grips.
  16. But it could be the disconnector too, as mentioned. The part where the trigger bar is supposed to 'pop' back up in front of the disco's 'lug', like in the animation below.... Maybe a combination of both. Did you purchase the correct disconnector for the Shadow 2?
  17. A little recent experience.....may help some, may not.... So I think I've finally settled on the best 'combination' of recoil management and cycle speed/less dot bounce, for my setup. It happened when I had to switch back to an A5 buffer tube and pin a collapsible stock on. Keep in mind that this is with factory Blazer Brass 115-gr. It's best described with this rough diagram that I made earlier in the thread...... What I had been using before was configuration #1 (top), and settled on that as a combination that provided both cushioning and quick enough dot recovery, but also still allowed LRBHO as I sometimes have to stick to 10-rd magazines in this state (CT). I then tried the same with a Blitzkrieg 5005, which is about an ounce heavier but the same 'carbine' length for a .308 with collapsible stock. Didn't notice much difference. Now that I had to change tubes to the A5, I went with configuration #3 above (second from bottom), which essentially achieves the same thing as the first configuration because of the added spacer with the same overall stroke length/travel....only difference being that there isn't as much spring pre-load (only 3/4" less). With other loads like slower 124- and 147-gr's, I didn't like how much slower the overall cycle felt compared to the quicker but albeit heavier-kicking 115 factories. The slower stuff, even though it kicked softer, seemed to raise muzzle more as things 'came around'. With the newer configuration with just that little bit less of spring pre-load, it's kind of a happy medium. It's a bit softer on the shoulder, and the speed of cycle seems just a tad slower, but not so much that the dot takes longer to settle. This is, so far, the best feeling and handling combination that I've tried since I put this PCC together. I've even tried some very soft, barelty-minor-PF stuff and it felt so light that I was wondering if I cycled completely...but just went through the mags with no issues.
  18. I regret that I didn't add some weight to the back before pinning a Minimalist stock on.
  19. Note: actually at first I thought that the gauge was a tiny bit over, but then I realized that I hadn't cleaned the breech which had a good amount of buildup. Once cleaned it was dead-even.
