  1. Yes, I prefer the SP01 Shadow even after owning a Shadow 2 as well. It fits my hand better, points better, and I like that the single-action trigger break is a bit farther forward than that of the Shadow 2. I must have tried 10 different grips on the Shadow 2 and couldn't get a truly comfortable fit, but with the SP01, just a set of Hogue Rubber grips with the front finger grooves cut off, and it's perfect. And with this gun I can shoot both SSP and ESP in IDPA, as well as Carry Optics (with an extra slide milled for an optic)...where the Shadow 2 is too heavy. I even had a Tactical Sport Blue, and instead preferred a long-slide SP01.
  2. Not in the PSA AK-V (which takes CZ Scorpion mags) they don't. Butt from what I can gather they work fine in the actual Scorpion.
  3. I used a BCM vertical foregrip as a hand stop, thumb over bore.
  4. Also 15 yds here. That's usually the max distance when shooting local matches or plates/steel. Sometimes there are longer shots but I hold a little low and it's always a bit slower of a shot anyway.
  5. That is a good point, to check that detent. However I have run into something similar as what is posted when changing out hammers which positioned the sear lug a bit differently on the safety, so there was almost no resistance. The adjustable sear took care of that. But yes, maybe should check the detent first, especially if the lever is indeed just flopping around (in which case it may need both). Or even check if it may have been lost, as it's very easy to lose like I'm sure many of us have found out!
  6. You could get an adjustable sear and spacer from Cajun, and it should be able to set just right on the safety lug so it's a definite on/off but not stiff or loose. I have them in all of mine. https://cajungunworks.com/product/as-b/ https://cajungunworks.com/product/s-spacer-sear-spacer/
  7. One that I've run that's worked with everything...various uppers/barrels and triggers from Geissele/POF/Hiperfire/Rise/CMC without a hitch has been from Pickett's Mill Armory. I got another one and they rotate between different uppers and such. Dead nuts reliable. All kinds of ammo from hollow points to flat points too. Dediaced 9mm lower and a mil spec AR15 with Stern adapter, no probs. https://www.pmarmory.com/9mm-bolt-carrier-group-p/pma9mmbcg.htm
  8. Cool, that will definitely contribute to the trigger break. Keep in mind I'm also primarily basing this on Shadow models that don't have a firing pin block plunger. If you're using a regular production SP01 as a base, it will have one and that has to be taken into consideration when it comes to pre-travel.
  9. One of the things that led me to sell a shadow 2 was that I couldn't get the SA position to be a little more forward like on my SP01 Shadows, even with an 85C trigger. it's weird that the S2 shares so many components with the older Shadow, but the overall sweep/travel of the trigger seems longer....both farther out in DA and farther back in SA. I can definitely see how this new trigger brings the face farther out in SA, but it also obviously increases reach for DA.
  10. I don't have pictures but it's pretty straight forward once you have it installed. In terms of pre-travel, it's the top set screw that you adjust with a small allen/hex key from above inside the frame. Recommend some blue Loctite on both screws. Adjust that to taste as to how much pre-travel you get, I like to leave a little bit to ensure I get reset by coming off the trigger entirely. As for the overtravel screw, the lower one, make sure that the sear clears the hammer enough when falling that the half-cock notch on the hammer isn't 'scraping' the sear. You can look from behind and see the edge of the sear coming up off the hammer, as well as feeling for it when you thumb the hammer down after pulling the trigger. Best results will be with a 'production' or 'race' replacement hammer that has shorter 'hooks' for a shorter/crisper break than the stock hammer, which has more roll/camming to the SA break because of the longer hammer hooks that the sear trips off of. I'd also highly recommend the adjustable sear that CGW sells. I'll assume you know that if your gun was originally a DA/SA SP01 and this is a conversion, you should remove the disconnector from the hammer.

    Production legal?

The CZ SP-01 Accushadow is on the USPSA list for approved Production guns.... https://uspsa.org/productionlist ...so by that measure, it shouldn't be an issue about the milling since it has to be done on that gun too. Maybe because of the Accushadow 2 not meeting 2000-units, it's still considered a 'customization' with that model, rather than a standard (or alternate version) production feature....or what have you.

    Production legal?

I'm kind of surprised that 2000 SP01 Accushadows were sold/produced.

    Production legal?

But a regular Shadow or Shadow 2 slide needs to be milled to install the other bushing (as opposed to the collet held in by the front sight pin), and the modification is externally visible....is that where the difference lies? But again, as far as I can remember when I had a regular SP01 Accushadow, it was production legal. So maybe it is just manufacturing numbers.
  14. There's a transgender athlete joke in here somewhere.
  15. Unfortunately, being a CT resident I can't buy an MPX, but I've been toying with the idea of building a CMMG radial-delayed based upper and running some appropriate Endomags. I just wish there were more barrel length/profile options. Might go with the 8" and then pin/weld a Taccom extension.
  16. I call that spring 'the Flea'. One moment it's there, and then next it's %$#@%^ gone.
  17. This is a question I've had for a while...in that once an AR9 is tuned and matched to a certain load, with short-stroking et al, to the point where the muzzle rise is minimized and essentially the same as an MPX or CMMG Radial Delayed..... Is the difference just the felt recoil impulse back into the shoulder? In that respect I could see splits and groups being pretty close 1-to-1, and perhaps the increased recoil can lead to less consistency and just more work/strain over a string/course.
  18. Wow that's really light. I run the 11.5lb hammer spring as well, and I don't think my pulls are that light. Although I also run the CGW Prod. Legal competition hammer. I have tried the actual CZ Shadow stock hammer with the round spur, and the sear hooks were so short (and Didn't grind or mod them at all) that the SA break was scary light, at least for my tastes. It seriously felt like a bullseye gun, or when someone gets a Tactical Sport and the factory trigger is crazy light, like a pound. It's I think the same hammer that came on the normal-production TS's. Anyway, with the 11.5lb hammer, an extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring, ignition has been fine on everything except some CCI Blazer Brass that I think came form a bad batch of particularly hard primers, as I bought them in bulk and haven't had issues with other bulk orders of the same. And yeah, the stock Shadow mag release is already extended compered to the stock CZ75B SP01 release, and I find very easy to actuate. As mentioned, the Shadow 2 type with the extra pad is probably not Prod. legal.
  19. I don't like that it's titled back in SA position, but understandable since its has to be at least reachable in DA. I also shoot exclusively 85C triggers and even put one on my long slide, which I shoot SA only. So I may be really biased.
  20. So where is it when it breaks in SA? Its it completely vertical at the 'wall', or even titled back? Judging by the resting position in the photo, I would guess the latter.

    Production legal?

The regular Accushadow was production legal, so one would assume that this is as well. But yeah, you should try to get official word. I don't know if it's over a certain weight limit or not. For example, the 75B Bull Shadow is production legal but the SP01 Bull Shadow is not. I think Stuart at CZ Custom would know.
