  1. I’d say springs are the most common wear item plus the recoil spring assembly. The nice thing about Glocks is that most of the small parts are relatively cheap so why not have a stash. MidwayUSA is a good place to pick up parts, especially when they have free shipping or during your birthday discount. But most major gun retailers carry some amount of Glock parts in addition to the Glock specialty stores.
  2. USPSA has it listed on the Production List under SIG: Wilson Combat WCP-320 (29.2 oz.). So complete gun seems good to go, no idea on the true legality of the grip module.
  3. Gen3 slide to Gen4 frame is doable, will have a gap at the dust cover (they make parts to fill the gap). Gen4 slide to Gen3 frame is a no go.
  4. FYI, this guy on Ken's List just posted another pistol for an almost "too good to be true" price as well, this time with a different location in GA. Definitely a buyer beware situation.
  5. I agree on the sight change. Is this still going to be used for home defense? If so, I'd seriously consider not adding some of the items on the rest of your list. But CClass is right, shoot it for a bit with the new sights before making any other substantive parts changes (maybe do a $.25 trigger job to clean up the trigger a bit) and then see if you "need" to add anything.
  6. I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations on a camera setup to capture 3rd person video in order to diagnose movement and reloading issues, both in practice and at matches. I plan to use my iPhone for video but interested in tripod setups, iPhone mounts etc. as well as any tips and tricks that would be useful to take into account.
  7. 1) No need to swap to an aftermarket, the OEM barrel is plenty accurate for USPSA and will run coated just fine. I use Sport Pistol which is supposed to be better for coated bullets. 2) I use Blue 125 RNs. I found with the 124/5s that the dot got back on target a little faster than the 147s. Pick up some of each and play around with what feels better to you. Sport Pistol, Blue 125 RN, loaded to 1.130" OAL has worked flawlessly and averaged around 131PF in my G17. Your mileage may vary on loads. 3) I also use a 13lb spring on an uncaptured guide rod. I think between 12-15lb springs should be fine and I've honestly tried them all but settled on the 13. Depending on your shooting supply vendor preference, some lb weights are more commonly sold than others if that matters to you.
  8. Having shot this stage (and screwed it up in wonderful fashion) and looking at Practiscore, 9 competitors out of 46 were assessed with procedurals which I believe were all FTSA as the OP described. Yet there were many shooters who had multiple misses that did not have procedurals assigned (this stage had 9 paper targets and required 3 shots per target, assumption is that people with more than 4 misses and no procedural had different ROs who followed what's been stated so far in the thread or they only landed {perhaps shot} 2 rounds per paper).
  9. Absolutely agree on the cost of aftermarket slide vs. complete OEM pistol. The Gen5 G34 MOS sounds like it would be the ticket for you to be able to compete in both PROD and CO with very little additional out of pocket expense. I think with the recent decision from Glock to discontinue certain Gen4 models (namely all of the 9mm variants that already have a Gen5 replacement) you should start seeing more aftermarket support for Gen5 but it will likely take awhile due to demand as well as supply chains recovering from COVID-19.
  10. What about a Gen5 g34 MOS? I could be wrong but maybe Zev makes a Gen5 slide
  11. Starting in 2025? Tongue and cheek but this does at least appear to be a very interesting option
  12. My understanding of the original intent regarding increasing the weight limit (as dubious as the decision may have been) was to ease the burden on ROs and Match Officials regarding identification and enforcement of the existing rules (i.e. 45 oz limit in CO). Under the old rules, a Glock 17 or 34 still was at a significant weight disadvantage to a modified Shadow 2, Sig X-Five Legion, Walter Q5 SF etc. If there was no consideration given to a WML or other external means of adding weight previously, why should that thinking prevail now that the weight limit has been all but removed, not necessarily for competitive reasons but for administrative and compliance reasons?
  13. You'd likely be much better served with an actual magwell vs. just the grip plug. Most folks who might run the Thug Plug do so in Production or Carry Optics where a magwell is not allowed. Also depending on the Generation of your 22, the Thug Plug likely will only add 1.8 - 2 oz at most
  14. Most of the parts on the Gen4 are interchangeable with the Gen3, and due to states like California they don't seem to be going away any time soon. I wouldn't worry too much about parts availability, who knows what Gen Glock will be on in 5 years anyways? If you want a Gen5, get a Gen5 but your Gen4 is not some obsolete relic now.
  15. Most, if not all, of your questions depend on what type (manufacturer & model) of slide you are referring to. 1) At a minimum, most places are referring to re-finishing the milled area. Depending on your climate and the type of metal the slide is made of, you could DIY it with any number of options or choose to have it professionally done. Many of the reputable shops (like Primary Machine) will re-finish the entire slide, not just the milled area. So if you want a different look for the slide at the same time, this is an option. 2) Not sure 100% what you are referring to but I believe the media blast is either a) to remove/cover the existing finish of the slide or b) coat the milled area 3) Again this is up to you but assuming you are looking to compete/plink with something along the lines of a Carry Optics setup, many (or most) competition-oriented folks remove the iron sights. Tactical-oriented folks seem by and large to retain the iron sights. All personal preference here. 4) Again depending on the type of slide, the footprint and size of the optic will dictate what options you have available (i.e. replace rear dovetail with optic cut, add optic cut in front of rear dovetail, replace rear dovetail with optic cut and mill dovetail in front of optic) due to limitations on the slide (like the Glock striker channel for instance). All again personal preference but it will be driven by the optic that you select. And remember, once it is milled for a particular optic footprint, you are stuck with that.
  16. As others have said, I don't think anything Glock is losing it's value right now. I personally think there's enough aftermarket support for the Gen4 that will go on for awhile that anyone selling now is just trying to time the market, not because they suddenly have a worthless platform.

    TS/TSO vs. 2011

Your looking at minimums if everything goes right on the stage/match. In this game, the $76 for 2 extra basepads seems like pretty cheap insurance after you've committed to shooting a TS/TSO.
  18. Yes I knew that, went to the website and checked it out. Again if you gotta have it, you gotta pay it but I'm used to more reasonable HAZMAT and Shipping charges from companies like Brownells, Powder Valley, Grafs, etc. Even Midway only charges $12 for HAZMAT.
  19. Wow, folks tend to remember who was taking advantage of situations. $28.50 for HAZMAT plus $16+ for shipping is insane.
  20. NY'er and CO shooter here too. As said above, have some out of state friends hold standard-caps for when you travel there. Bonus is you get to practice your reloads a lot. Just remember when you get to a standard capacity state, you don't need to reload as much!
  21. there's a guy on Facebook, Karl Bibb, that make's a nose down feeder that many people have adapted to the Lee APP. It's about $180 + shipping if I recall correctly.
  22. If you follow Pop's Quest on YouTube he's had a lot of issues with his XL on his Open gun as well as his Carry Optics one
