  1. I would not use JB weld. Ain’t gonna last I would not weld it up and try to drill and tap. A weld is super hard and you will have a heck of a time doing that. Even with a mill and high end carbide bits and taps. Best bet, if there is enough material, drill and tap to the next size up.
  2. Jealous! I have 8,000 of these to go through. Ugh
  3. I have about 3,000 frustrating rounds through my X5 now. I have gotten severe leading ever since I got it. First batch of bullets were Gallant, Then Brazos, now BBI. all sized .356 and all lead pretty bad after 200 rounds. I finally slugged my bore last night and got .3564". Guess I need to order some .357's and try those. Side note: I thought it might be my Lee FCD causing this so I ditched it and went back to the Dillon crimp die. Didn't change a thing. Me and Choreboy have become good friends.
  4. I use a .050” Allen key. Works like a champ. No issues here
  5. I got major leading with the .356 Brazos in multiple guns. Tried some .357’s that a buddy had bought and they leaded too. My Sport pistol loads Sig X5 ambient temp 84 125gr BBI 1.125” 3.8gr. 1031 1042 1020 1044 1035 1037 1032 PF-129 3.9gr 1063 1051 1067 1060 1064 1066 1055 PF-132
  6. Just ignore it. I load mine to 1.145" I get great accuracy from them. They just lead my barrel really bad. I tried some .357's from them and they leaded too. Wish they worked. Great price and stupid accurate. Back to BBI for me.
  7. I don’t know. I’ve had great luck with mine. Zero issues.

    P320 X5 Thread

Are people running factory striker springs? I just got an X5 and need some spares
  9. I need to do some final fitting(shaping) but it works great. Did 100 rounds of 1 reload 1 and my hand never accidentally dropped a mag.
  10. I finally got it. I took the mag release back out and heated the tip of it with a torch until it was glowing red. That annealed it. I was then able to tap it. Works like a champ! I will post a picture of it later this evening.
  11. I managed to get my hole drilled. I used a 2.5mm carbide endMill. I can’t get a tap started now. Won’t even touch it. Brand new tap too! I might just buy a springer mag release and drill/tap it.
  12. You aren’t kidding about the mag release being hardened. Wow. I am going to have to order a. carbide drill bit. I had some new TIN coated bits and it won’t touch it. I made a paddle for mine instead of buying a S2 button.

    Springer grip tape

Came in today. Install was easy. Used the heat gun to mold it better. We will see how it holds up. I like the texture of it
  14. looks good. I am going to try to do that mag release mod to mine
  15. I’m going to order some .357’s and try that. I do like how accurate these bullets are.
  16. I have shot close to 30k of coated lead the past two years. All were either Summer enterprises or BBI. Both were .356. The summers are 18 brinell hardness where as the Brazos are 13. I think that may be the difference. I have had zero leading until this year. 4 different guns. All leaded with Gallants. Just not seeing some lead with the Brazos. But....... I might try .357’s next time.
  17. 300 more rounds of the brazos .356 125’s today. Starting to see some minor leading(600 rounds total) im about to give up on coated lead and go back to plated.
  18. I just ordered some on amazon. 25 of them for 7 bucks shipped. M6

    Springer grip tape

I ordered a couple of the blue ones.
  20. Just use the factory guide rod. Unscrew the tip and run it uncaptured. I don’t run 147’s but I’ve had good luck with a 13 pound spring

    Springer grip tape

Anyone using this? I might eventually just go silicone carbide but I’m not 100% sold on the X5 yet. They say the blue and red are more grippy than the black? Not interested in DIY skateboard tape
  22. Brazos report. I got the 125gr LG RN. Shot 300rds. Zero leading out of my Sig X5. First run was 4.2gr HP38 at 1.115”. Absolutely terrible accuracy. Maybe a 10” group at 10 yards. Rounds were tumbling. Went home and loaded 100 more at 1.150” and retried at the range. Wound up with a 1.5” group at 20 yards. Very impressed with the accuracy from these bullets. Just had to get the right recipe for this gun. The 1.115” load shots a one hole group from my M&P. So weird. Also super excited about no leading!!!! I have had a terrible time with the last batch of Gallants
  23. I just bought a jug of sport pistol. I’ve heard good things about it. Still have 3lbs of HP 38 to burn through
  24. Loaded up some of the Brazos last night. Need to bump up the powder charge. First guess was 124.6pf. Very impressed with the accuracy so far. Had 3 touching at 12 yards. Off hand. I’ll load up some more this afternoon and go try it again. Put it on bags at 25 yards. First load was 4.0gr HP-38 1.115”. I’ll go 4.2 and report back.
