  1. I saw where Brazos 125 gr coated bullets with a lube groove were being reported to be more accurate. I ordered a sample pack to play with. My question is: What do I do with the lube groove? Just ignore it? Since it's a coated bullet, can't really see where I would need lube.
  2. Does the manny dot from brazos fit a springfield 1911 front sight cut? Of course it will need a little fitting if it does. However, I don't want it to be completely the wrong angle. I currently run a manny dot on my edge and love it. My dawson front sight currently is bent from a previous owner installing it improperly. I plan to use this gun for some USPSA, but mostly steel challenge. On a side note what is yalls opinion of a front sight that narrow for steel?? The manny dot is .070. Alternatively I could just order another dawson one that is .090. The current one is .100 and it is way too fat for my tastes. Thanks.
  3. Starting to get very serious about purchasing an STI edge in 40 for limited. Would you grab this Dawson CRP (competition ready pistol) for $2,295? Typical upgrades. Assembled and test fired. Chrome finish. https://dawsonprecision.com/sti-2011-edge-40-s-w-competition-ready-pistol-hard-chrome-finish/ or this Brazos blued (high performance edge) for $2,400? The upgrades plus they break the whole thing down and tune it with a 3lb break. Not sure what the stock pull would be from Dawson. http://www.brazoscustom.com/sti_guns/HP_Edge.htm I'm new to 1911's so Brazos appeals to me...seems like they really send it perfected and I don't have the tools or expertise to trouble shoot the gun. However, Dawson's is respected and assembles the gun, so I guess it'll be GTG too. Cheaper and chrome is sexy, I suppose. Help!
  4. I just purchased a new Limited gun, STI Apeiro in 40 Cal. I need to outfit it with a sufficient number of magazines and the options are overwhelming. New factory STI, MBX or tuned versions for double the money. There are used options of these out there also. I have talked to several people and there doesn't seem to be a consensus so far. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
