  1. Allchin makes a very nice mount for a Cmore
  2. What he said! Even though I don't know what he said.
  3. With my S&W 500 at 647 pf and a 350 gr bullet going at 1850 fps there isn't steel rack, star or pepper popper that it won't take down.:-):-
  4. Porting is useless unless you plan on shooting major. But the cool factor is there.
  5. I agree with underlug with Hearth clips as that is what I use in my 8 shot with Starline brass and that is what they were cut for. I used to have some clips that would only work with Winchester brass and they were .022. I do know that when I put Starline in them they would almost fall out. I do have some for Federal brass and they measure .027 and they also work for Starline. I am not sure what the Hearth clips measure.
  6. Brass kind will make a difference. In example Winchester will work in some and some it will not and Starline will be loose in most unless cut for Starline
  7. There is a couple of 27-2 with 5" barrels on Gunbroker.com. http://www.gunbroker.com/Revolvers/BI.aspx?Keywords=27
  8. I have been using the Double Alpha for about a year now and it is worth the money. The one that I use has the interchangable block that you can change to fit what gun you are shooting. They now sell one just made for the model gun you are shooting and it is a lot cheaper in cost. I tried the CR and it just did not work for me.
  9. Try this sight it looks like the old Millet sights and is available through Brownells. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=31965/Product/S-W-REVOLVER-ROUGH-COUNTRY-REAR-SIGHT
  10. Don't quote me but I think Randy Lee of Apex can get double action down to 4.5 lbs. 2.5 would be something of interest.
  11. Here are some other options that are out there. www.xtremebullets.com 38 Super .356 or .357 147 RN. Nice bullet and the .357 works great with 38 Short Colt. www.berrymfg.com 38 Super .356 150 RN or 38 Cal .357 158 RN. www.rainierballistics.com 38 Super .356 151 RN or 38 Cal .357 158 RN. These are all plated bullets and one last place to try is www.billybullets.com but his are moly coated but smoke is not an issue and he makes the 160 RN in .357 or .358 and if you want to venture higher he has 170 RN .358. Hope this helps. Dean
  12. His 627 is a 6 1/2" PC . There was only 200 made and I know that there is only 199 left as I chopped one up. But I do have another and it is in cherry condition
  13. I have never understood why anyone would re-seat or crush a primer on a live round. I know that a lot of people do it and have never had any problems but I have set one off using that extra heave on my 650. Besides the stain in my shorts and the ringing in my ears all was well. If a loaded round sets off when crushing the primer it would be like a small bomb our I would think. I had a round go off on a open chamber when unloading my 10mm Delta Elite as the best we figured the primer hit a stuck firing pin and detonated. Part of the brass ended up on the joint of my thumb and who knows where the bullet went. The same could happen by crushing primers on loaded rounds, so why take a chance. I would for sure wear safety glasses and gloves as it may never happen but if it does you should have some protection. Just my thoughts on safety.
  14. Dillon 650 only for all my revolvers all have action jobs and I have had 100% ignition. I have never had to hand prime. Just that little extra push when seating the primer.
  15. I will be in the Dallas, Fort Worth area July 7th and 8th are there any matches?
  16. Why not just order the 38 short colt die set from Lee? I use them on my 650 and have loaded thousands of rounds with no problem.
  17. Here is a post from cooper_999 from Germany that has run major with 38 short colt. don't mix things up... I have different recipes for major. One, I used before the 38shorts was 200grs copper plated H&N RN bullets with N350 in 38spl cases. Next step in "evolution" has been shortened 38spl cases with 158grs H&N copper plated RNs and N340 and finally, the load I used at the Europeans 2010 and the WS last year - 38shortcolt 160grs ARES RN (polymer coated lead) and VV N350 loaded to make major. I've shot more than 20k of this load in the past years without any issue. All of my loads have been tested and proofed below 357mag pressure. No good idea to shoot them in a 38spl Revo but IMHO no prob in a 586 or 686. Of course, this without any guarantee. Everything's on your own risk.
  18. Well if everyone is talking about 27-7 I have #38 un-molested and I do have a 27-8 #8 with a 5" barrel. I was going to drop a 8 3/8" barrel on the 27-8 but unemployment has forced me to put up all my toys and my hobbies on hold. I think the 27-8 with the 8 3/8" barrel would have been sweet but maybe someday I will be back in the swing of things.
  19. Try a Korth Combat if you are looking for a high end revolver, but you better have deep pockets.
  20. You can get the Eotech with just a 1moa dot. I have one that the reticle cannot be changed and I also have 2 that I can change the reticles between a 1 moa and a 6 moa. The best thing about the Eotech is that you will not lose the dot even when facing into the sun.
  21. I think I know how to piece together a set now as well, it is just off that there is no one making the set. I don't exactly have a few sets of 9mm and 38 dies sitting around to rob from so I am going to resist and just shoot specials for now. Lee Lee use to make the dies as I have a set that I use
