  1. Try sdmfabricating.com they make one similar to a Millet but it does not have windage adjustment.
  2. Try a SDM rear sight as they are making some similar to the Millet.
  3. Load all my revolver ammo on a 650 with Federal Primers and I have Carmonized, Pinnicale, RPM and then some of my own trigger jobs and they all run between 5 to 6lbs. I have never crushed or extended any extra pressure when seating the primer. I have never had a lite strike or failure to ignite. I say load them up and try them and if they go boom don't worry about it.
  4. Power factor for ICORE is 120 no matter what caliber. Check out the rules at www.icore.org and welcome to ICORE.
  5. I would think the performance of a .355" bullet (38 SC) would be disappointing in a .357" (357 mag/38 Special) barrel. I haven't looked up the case dimensions. If my memory serves me right I think all the or at least the first run of 627 38 supers had .357 barrels. That was a complaint and I think at one time there was a topic about it somwhere in this forum. A friend of mine shoots one of the first run and runs .356 bullets through it and it shoots very well. You can alway run larger bullets as I have a .356 barrel on mine and the only bullets it likes are the .357, go figure.
  6. You can have your cylinder reamed to 38 super or buy another cylinder and have it reamed to 38 super that way you switch back to 38/357 if wanted. Pinnacle Custom at www.pinnacle-guns.com can do this and then you can shoot 38 super, 9x21 and 9x23.
  7. Well lets not forget all the butt whippins I received in the past from you. It just felt good to actually win the whole enchilada. Now for the bad news or maybe good news to some , Since the regional I have been laid up with a bum knee and I finally got it fixed on Sept 17. They had to fix my meniscus, acl and remove all the cartlidge from behind the knee cap. Being old and fat also doesn't help in the recovery. Oh by the way I did miss you at the victory meal at Rick's house and I tried to be as humble as I could be. See Ya Dean
  8. This will definitely be on my schedule and you might consider approaching the ICORE board and ask to host the IRC. According to what I have heard there was some rumblings at the ICORE board meeting and it led to resignations and the people that brought plans for the 2010 IRC also pulled them. So as of right now the is not any plans or anybody to run a 2010 IRC. This would be an excellent opportunity to have the IRC on the east coast. The board would help with money to travel to the SHOT Show to help land prizes for the prize table or I think they would as they have done this in the past. I think this would be a great opportunity for ICORE and the IRC to maybe reach that 250 to 300 mark for competitors as you would be able to draw from the eastern part of the states. Either way count me in.
  9. Go to www.icore.org and then go under classification membership status. You can put your last name or your Icore number and it will then bring up all your classifier scores and what your classification is.
  10. Never been to North Carolina but this one sounds interesting enough to put on my schedule.
  11. I used this one time for a regional match in Garden City Kansas. I will call it the X-Steelidential. you will need 2 18" x 24" steel plates and one D1 target. Set steel at 10 yds and D1 at 10 yds. Put the steel on each side of the D1 target with 2' between the edges of the steel and the D1. Make this a Virgina Count. With hands in surrender position draw and engage left steel with 2 rounds engage D1 with 2 rounds and engage right steel with 2 rounds, mandatory reload and then engage right steel with 2 rounds D1 with 2 rounds and left steel with 2 rounds. That is string 1 then repeat for string 2 but engage the right steel first. X hits count -1. You can change it up by starting facing up range and then having to turn and draw or put a no shoot in front of the D1 with X, A and B ring cut out.
  12. Because I can ... and, because money is no object ... Well if money is no object send some my way and I will see if I can make an object out of it, $1,500 ought to do.
  13. I reload with the revolver in my strong hand and when I push the cylinder open with my weak hand using my pointer and middle finger it puts my thumb in perfect position to operate the extractor. I guess it all a matter of technique for each individual. A good friend of mine uses the palm method and after the match he has a nice little hole in his hand. The reason he tells me why he does this is to make sure the moonclip clears and does not hang up.
  14. Why are people slapping the extractor so hard. A push with the thumb as you open the cylinder and out comes the rounds/moonclip. If you are having problems with the rounds coming out hard or being so sticky that you have to slap the extractor, polish your cylinder or ream it to proper size. I notice a lot of people that slap the extractor and to me it is totally unnessary.
  15. Blue loctite, finger tight and still easy to take apart when needed.
  16. I think that same situation came up at the IRC. I think it was Mike Homm??? He fire an extra shot and got the extra hit then the RO added an extra procedural for not following the stage instructions, IIRC. Dean Gomez was there; maybe he can shed some light on how it turned out. My memory has gone to hell. If I remember right Cliff is right on with the penalties given to Mike. Mike was only to fire one round each at each target and he fired 2 at the first which is extra shot, extra hit and a procedural for shooting the target out of order. On his next string if he had not fired another shot at the target he would have not had the extra shot or extra hit and would have been only given a procedural for shooting the target out of sequence. I hope that makes sense.
  17. I was one of the booers(I was up front) and would like to see it back. But as you stated you are the man and as MD it is your choice. Regardless of the F&N being at this match you put on one helluva match and I applaud you and if the F&N is in or out I will still be there. Take a bow Nelson you deserve it. Revoman
  18. Loading on a 650 for years for my 625 and 627's and I have had not one misfire due to the primer not being seated enough. Once I feel the primer go in I just bump it and then on to the next. All Federal primers and 4.5 to 5.5 triggers. Maybe I am just a lucky one with a good primer seater on my 650.
  19. PM sent on a pair of JM grips I have for sale.
  20. Lets see, 50 yds, draw, go prone, 6 rounds, 6 targets and 6 x's under 9 seconds. 25 yds, draw, 6 rounds, 6 targets, 6 x's under 7 seconds. 12 yds, draw, 6 rounds, 3 targets, reload, 6 rounds, 3 targets 12 x's under 10 seconds. 3 yds, draw, 6 rounds, 3 targets, strong hand only, reload, 6 rounds, 3 targets, weak hand only, 12 x's under 10 seconds. This cover good fast hits at all practical distances. (50yds, 25yds, 12yds, 3yds and all x's) Achieving fast and consistent reloads on demand, I think the following covers that (6 rounds reload 6 rounds at 12 yds and 3 yds under 10 seconds and all x's) and last but not least 12 rounds strong hand and weak hand at 3 yds under 10 seconds and all x's. The only thing not covered is shooting on the move and I can practice that during my dry fire time. The other general skills I try to pick up during local matches. I achieve all the above by setting up one stage during my practice session and shooting the (lets not take god's name in vain after all it is Easter)dam thing over and over again and to my standards I have become the best revolver shooter I want to be. Well if next weekend allows, it will be back off to the range to practice the F&N standards and this time I will practice a little harder knowing that I am practicing fast good hits at all practical distances, achieving fast and consistent reloads on demand and shooting strong and weak hand. I might even take a few rounds and run around while I shoot at targets and if I have time I will work on some of my other general shooting skills. Lord knows I need help there. Keep them in the X-Ring Revoman You mean all this writing was for nothing and I wasted my good sarcasm and now we are not going to shoot anything resembling the F&N. What will I ever do, I know I will show up, still have a good time, see friends that I only see once a year, drink some beer, tell some old stories and this year deep sea fishing on Thursday since I shot my classifiers at the Rocky Mountain Regional. Oh by the way I did practice with the black x-ring and I actually shot better (in the mid teens) as I was going prone at 25 and picking up 6 x's and I was practicing with the par times. See you all in Kalifornia Revoman
  21. If I shoot better scores I am all for it and if I shoot worse scores then it sucks or could it be that if you just shoot all X's and A's it really won't matter what color the X-zone is.
  22. The only reason to use4 a 9mm crimp die is if you are using 9mm bullets. If you are using .357 or larger bullets the .38 crimp die will work just add a spacer as the die will not crimp as it is to long. The spacer needs to go in the die and I think that a roll crimp works better and that is what you should have with your .38 crimp die.
  23. I thought you couldn't go back to Kansas after your visit to one of the sponsors clubs on Sunday night.
