  1. On a FCSA Match weekend shooting two classes and the practical match I would commonly fire 150 to 200 rounds of 50BMG. Most was 800gn brass pushed by 235gn+ at 2900+ FPS. I watched 70+ .YO women and 80+ YO men do this on a regular basis and shoot sub MOA 5 shot groups on a regular basis. At 1000 yards. I disagree with your assessment.
  2. My 50BMG target rifles have trigger pulls measured in ounces. My revolvers and pistols have pulls measured in pounds - it all depends on how much movement I am going to do with the weapon in a ready to fire condition.
  3. In the 50BMG world here in the United States it is my understanding that RUAG is considered to be the best.
  4. Any possibility of ELR or 1000 yard 50bmg benchrest with the FCSA in Raton? That can easily be a 100 round weekend with no movement. Ammunition is insanely time consuming.
  5. TG is my powder of choice loading .45GAP with 230gn Blues. No issues of any type.
  6. Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday and today Federal SPP 5.19 limit two. CCI SRP $5.03? (can't find receipt). also limit two.
  7. I would recommend the revolver. I find that it adds a bit of elegance.
  8. Chapo - If I try to go to the range by myself, I have the same problem. If I am meeting the friends that I have met in various competitions, it is Much easier to get excited about it.
  9. Might I suggest "Practical Shooting Beyond Fundamentals" by our Host, Brian Enos.
  10. The LEE U die used properly DID NOT DO THAT.
  11. Suspenders are Ruff & Tuff by Perry, compression sleeves are Tommie Copper.
  12. I have seen Outlaw indoor matches when weather conditions did not allow outside shooting. Lots of fun, and the option of doing dark stages is a plus. It seems to me like a completely different sport than regular IDPA. I am Much faster with a .22.
  13. In general, I wear what I am comfortable in. Being skinny and wearing either a 625 or 1911 and gear, finding suspenders changed my world for the better. Here in the southwest I shoot in tactical desert boots. As a super senior I find compression sleeves over my elbows give added support and add comfort.
  14. I let them wet tumble with SS pins and the brass.
  15. And everybody gets the FC die. I have had GOOD luck using LEE for everything from .380acp to .50BMG precision.
  16. I bulge bust and use the undersize die for .45 acp & GAP. I use just the undersize for .38. Note: This is for 100% reliability in the 1911, and unrivaled speed reloads in the revolvers. I have experienced NO negatives whatsoever.
  17. Blue Bullets work for me. 45 GAP 230gn LRN 155pf 625 IDPA.
  18. Well, I did make Super Senior this year, but I can't be the only one out here in desert tactical boots. They work on this hard packed New Mexico sand.
  19. Trying for Tucson in March, Cameo if it works out, and it looks like SJWF in Farmington will get the State Match back weekend of Aug 6. Everything else is up in the air.
  20. It can be done correctly and Safely, Most do Not understand. Edited to add: Much like 45 Super.
  21. Use it for .45acp and .45Gap. The extra step is worth it to me.
