I have almost 3000 dollars to spend on a pistol, and I'm obsessing over the DS9 Hybrid. However, the steel grip version is 600 dollars more than the aluminum version. is the steel really worth a 600 dollar difference?

I've shot IDPA a handful of times, mostly practice, one official match, and of course during my wait for the stage I study and plan out every move. Then when the buzzer sounds I fumble for magazines, hesitate on targets and ran in the wrong direction once. How the heck do I get over this hump?

Hi all, I've been a Glock user for many years, a stock G34 Gen 3. I've owned many firearms, pistols and rifles years ago, but sold most of them. Kept a M1903 for hunting, a Schmidt Rubin 1911 for CMP iron shooting, and the Glock for home defense and IDPA Production. The only 1911 I've owned is a S&W E-frame in .45ACP and it was one of my favorite guns ever. That trigger is like a pane of glass breaking, and I've been chasing the dragon since. Coming back now, I've put a limit on myself to own 3 guns total. I'm trading in my Glock for a 9mm double stack 1911, with a budget of about 3000.
