  1. Only thing that scares me is for $550, it should be more reliable than that. (to me anyway) I understand that no chrono is going to be perfect and run perfectly and accurately for every shot in every condition. Believe me, I get it. Plus, I don't use mine very often as I'm just getting into reloading and learning about all of this stuff. So, I could never justify paying $550 for a chrono that I only use here and there, but for others that use it often and use it to go to big matches and such, I can understand. But, to me, if it is having flaky responses and you only had half a battery charge in it, that would scare me for the amount of money put into it. Battery pack or not. I could understand if you didn't have much battery left and it was blinking or something and it kept shutting off, but for it to give you erroneous readings and shutting off and you kept replacing batteries, that would bother me. Then again, like you said, if it was a low battery condition, it could cause those issues. However, if your rechargeables were in good condition, then there shouldn't have been a problem. Although, just to be safe, I would try and find their battery pack and try it again, if it happens again with their battery pack, then you have found out there is another issue and it isn't because of your rechargeables.
  2. You might want to post this up in the Rifle section. You might get more/better responses to it. I don't know, so I can't answer for you as I haven't loaded with that powder before.
  3. ???? I thought it was Frankford Arsenal Reloading Tools. I've never heard of Franklin Arms Reloading Tools, unless that is what it used to be called before my time. I might be wrong. Here is the link to it on Amazon for those that are interested: Frankford Arsenal Platinum Rotary Tumbler Looks like it is going for $160.64 plus there is some sort of coupon for $15.61 off that.
  4. Darn good points, Mr. Hobbit. (thumbs up) And you are correct.
  5. If you notice, he still has only one post (this initial one) from June 29th. Apparently he didn't feel like being a contributor to the forum, but just wanted to sell some things. Sad. Now I see why the policy is in place and obviously for good reason.
  6. Welcome from Kentucky! Where did you relocate from? (just curious) Lots and lots of great info here on reloading, shooting and just good stuff in general. Enjoy your stay!
  7. Welcome from Central Kentucky! We're rollin'' deep from Kentucky lately! That's two new people in the past few days. LOL! Where do you shoot USPSA (or the type of competitive shooting that you shoot) out near Bowling Green?
  8. Welcome from Central Kentucky! :-D Have you been participating in any USPSA shoots? Where have you been shooting out your ways?
  9. Welcome from Kentucky, Jeff! Glad to hear you are enjoying USPSA. You'll get there...practice, practice, practice. Admittedly this is one of the sports where it is even more fun to practice at it to get better.
  10. Welcome from Kentucky, Moondog! Enjoy all of the info we have here, but don't forget to give back. Jack - You are right, it is a very pretty city, but too bad you can't park there. LOL!!!
  11. Always a pain to keep multiple accounts straight. LOL!!!!! Whooooopsie!!!!
  12. Wait...there is a non-flat part in IA???? LOL Kidding! Welcome from Kentucky! Enjoy your trials at USPSA. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
  13. Welcome from Kentucky, Nick! Jack is right...your next step will most likely be reloading, so start saving your brass now. Even if you don't start reloading for a year, you will see posts here of people saying, "Awww crap, I wish I started saving my brass a year ago now that I'm starting to reload!" Go with the experience. LOL! Save it. A five gallon bucket from Home Depot or Lowe's is WAY cheaper to buy now to use to store all of your brass you start collecting than buying the brass when you want to start reloading. Ask me how I know. LOL! Congrats on the M&P PC Core 9L. Nice firearm. I'm sure you'll enjoy it a bunch!
  14. Welcome from Kentucky! I'm sure you'll enjoy the change and all of the info the forum and the great people here have to offer. Just don't forget to give back once you gain some knowledge.
  15. Welcome from Kentucky! Enjoy your stay here. Lots of info and a great place to participate!
  16. I swear that if my wife saw me put brass in the oven that a ) she would think I've finally lost my mind and b ) I would probably get beat with a stick or hit with a cast iron frying pan for putting brass in her nice clean oven. LOL!!!! So, if I end up going to wet tumbling, I'm going to need a dryer. LOL
  17. Steve - Good point...especially if it is a little lower on power than the Australian version. I figure it is more for fun anyway for them, so it would be fun to try a few different loads to see how it goes. Most have suggested 3.0 under a 180gr, (.40) but I will still look it up in a manual to see. But I appreciate the input. I know this is the .45 forum, so I won't go into specifics. LOL
  18. You already know you're not going to please everyone. LOL! Some will be thrilled with it's own stand and others will complain about it taking up space as you said. So, the only real way to win is if they make it so you can mount it both ways.
  19. LMAO!!!! I have a feeling Miss Mississippi had something to do with that, but I'm sure he is grown up too. My only issue is my stepson could care less about firearms. Uggghhhh...it's killing me! LOL! He did take a hunter safety class with his dad in Nebraska (where he lives for the school year) and that is cool. But other than that, I don't think he has any interest in firearms at all. I think he did that more for his dad, I guess. I have tried all the tricks I could to get him interested. Have asked him to go to the range with me and such to hopefully get him interested and show him cool stuff, but nope. Doesn't even want to go. I don't ever push him into stuff that he doesn't want to do. I'm not like that. So, it's all good. Maybe later on he will get interested. However, you show him something about basketball or soccer and he is ALLLLLL over it. LOL! He is 15 and 6'3". Towers over me. He is going to end up somewhere around 6'5"-6'7" since his dad is 6'5". So, I'm like, hey, get a basketball or soccer college scholarship...I'm all for free money for your college, kid. LOL! But that is cool that he can do all of that. Oh and I'm dreading next summer because then my kid will have a license too and I'm going to have a very hard time letting him drive either of our vehicles (Tahoe or Mustang). Soooo, I don't know how I'm going to handle that. LOL! I would sooooo do the t-shirt thing too and my kid would be dismayed as well. That's funny!
  20. LOL! The real messed up thing is I'm a member at a club...have been since April, I think, and still haven't gotten a chance to get out there and shoot there yet for just normal practice and such. LOL! Every time I plan it out and say, "ok, this Sat or this Sun I'll go out there and shoot." a family thing comes up that I have to do (which always comes first to me) or I end up having to work or something. LOL So, at this point, I'm having the privilege of being able to pay to say "I'm a member of a club" and that's about it. LOL!!!!!
  21. Welcome from Kentucky, Joker. Also, thank you for your service in both avenues. I have done the same and appreciate it.
  22. Uhh...ahem...those were supposed to be MINE, thank you very much. LOL!
