I saw the $949.99 price when I posted the link on the Canik forum for the chromer. I'm going to wait for the next batch and look forward to comments from folks who have them. Should be real interesting!
I went with a really good lower, Angstadt, and followed along with the Max build. NBS uppers then all good parts. They have been flawless. I have two identical ones with Brekke barrels/handguards and a XLW Taccom barrel/handguard. They run.
I feel it. I don't reload so all factory stuff for me. If it doesn't run for us "average" guys then they missed out. It will be interesting what info does come out of Shot.
I had a first run Rival and it was fine. But my SFX out shot it so the Rival had to go. I can wait for more intel on the S.
Good to know about the barrel before I plop money on the Rival-S. Maybe someone will make an after market barrel that is "good". My SFX is great with everything I put in it but if the Rival-S barrel is not up to the task then it's a no go. I hope somebody going to Shot tells them this is a big issue.
5006, A5 rifle tube, JP 308 rifle spring. I have 3 of them and they rock! No spacers in mine (Hiperfire ECL triggers) but everyone is different. Runs all kinds of ammo.
It is the recommended rear setup from Aaron Brekke. I run his 10.5/6" comp combo too. Flat shooting and little to no dot movement. I run softened 115s (130PF) and 147s at 133 PF. It just works and feels right to me. Holosun 510C on top with a Stern SD BU9 Echo bolt.
Back end setup (short stroked):
A5 tube
Blitz 5006 buffer
JP 308 rifle spring
Hiperfire ECL
Upper setup:
NBS upper
Bolt is the shiny Stern Defense
10.5 Brekke/6" comp
This has been 100% in both my primary and backup guns.
Money well spent and reliable.
Thanks Max!!!
I have the Zombie Pro in my Rival. Reduced the takeup and the same reset as the stock trigger. Nice and crisp break over the slightly mush break on the Rival stock trigger. I left the stock trigger return spring in for now. I have a ZP in my SFX too and it has a lot more rounds on it than the Rival so it feels just a bit better.
I like to support local vendors. SMC has been there for us from the early days of the Canik Fanatik forum. I'm sure the stock one would be fine on a BOSS. Holsters are a personal preference and I like his products.
